And I could hear the cries of a thousand souls...in unison they cried as the water's shed revealed a gloom long thought never to be seen again. From within, the coming darkness lay a permanent shadow like a blanket covering everything within it's growing grasp, suffocating all that is tainted with curse of mortality.

Yeah, I'm not sure why I wrote that.

Half life refers to the period after which half of all isotopes within any given volume will have decayed for that particular element. I wouldn't say it is particularly good - one can hardly judge an natural process with human morality, but it is certainly a very useful property when nuclear power is concerned.

I'm sorry, but that beginning is so gripping. I often play the first chapter just so I get to see that again.

Now that's just threatening. Never been to a restaurant for a date in that matter, so I'll skip this advice.

Quote: "I wouldnt mess with that guy Adriano, any one who can resort to caps lock is bound to be fo-shizzle."

Don't worry, I wouldn't mess with anyone if they didn't get me angry. I'm not taking this guy seriously, so I'm not starting up a fight here.

Quote: "I love how this thread has turned into relationship counselling for Adriano... If you're too young to date then fair enough I can understand why your Mum had a problem. But otherwise she should let you make your own decisions and if it doesn't work or whatever, you'll learn from your mistakes.."

Cool.
The problem is I don't want this thread to get offtopic, flamed and then locked, so please keep it down guys.

Quote: "My mum doesn't even know how to turn on a computer! :p I think I tried playing that, or maybe it was second life.. Either way I didn't like it..."

Isn't Second Life that online simulation game where you play as a specific character, and you go walking around in some city where bizare things happen? I never tried that yet.

Quote: "Half Life is one of the best games of all time. Half Life 2 probably is the best game."

No offense to you, or half the world but I disagree. Even though both made the list, I tried both games and must say I never enjoyed it. Please don't argue about this, it's only my opinion and you can stick to it.

Ok to conclude it, regarding my relationships guys, I will make my own decisions and try not to go too far, but there hasn't been many girls interesting lately, so I'll just wait for high school.

Second life is exactly what it says on the tin. You can have avatars, get homes, get married, do practically anything. In a way it's sort of like the Sims - there is no goal, you just do stuff.

Oh BTW, I don't think I ever said hello to TillyLala, so hi! (notice I still haven't said 'hello')

Ya. They're nothing but trouble! But seriously, listen to your folks. I'm sure they have the best intentions in mind for you.

I just now tried... second life... The best part was the flying, and making random objects on people. It was a little disturbing seeing a naked dude running around as soon as i started... I just put a tube over him and flew away, though.

Quote: "I'm sorry, but that beginning is so gripping. I often play the first chapter just so I get to see that again."

It does rock, but I wouldn't have had such an euphoric reaction myself unless I had played the first one and loved it. Half-life 2 does rock! But Half-life 1 will always hold a brighter flame in my memory.

If you dig some FPS games with some good immersion factor applied, I would try it. Also, if you do like FPS games, check out Portal if you haven't. It's a cool twist on the genre.

He'd better. Or else there might be trouble!

Just joking! It really just depends on the person, and you both seem very nice. As far as the game making goes, have fun and good luck on future projects. As I'm sure you have found, everyone is pretty nice around these here parts and are willing to help when problems arise.

Haha! Hearing about second life reminds me of the show "The Office." Dwight made a character that was exactly like him, then Jim made a char to spy on him. Good stuff!

After a while, it will come naturally. Just like any skill in life. Bikes, guitars, skateboarding, drawing, programming, walking, second+ language, etc. The more a person does something, the more natural anything will become. Practice makes perfect!

It's up to you! Just try to make anything you do fun. The more I enjoy doing something, the more I want to do it! The more I do something, the better I get! I know it's a broad generalization, but I believe this goes for anyone.

To start off, I believe it is just the classic game.
But that's fine. Some of the most addictive games to me are the most simple ones. Tetris, Pong, Bejeweled etc.

Why thank you, i'm sure everyone was unnerved that pong isn't a new game, and that it might not be fine. But thank you so much for reassuring everyone, we didn't want to be insecure knowing that you might not like it, and it might not be addictive for you.

Ah, we forgot to tell you about our panel of elite coders that peruse these forums, with their one liner sarcastic comments that make more sense when read backwards...though this is contradictory to the leader of the panel, all knowing Raven Vegeta, who will not only write you a small essay on the fundamentals of pong physics and their effects on the gaming industry, but will no doubt try to impart his most exuberant knowledge on pong theory that he acquired from his 200 years of game programing gained from working at only the most prestigious gaming company's.
