@Soviet176 You have to place the game settings.app in the packed games folder not the folder of the game itself, Then you just click the Game setting.app.

@Soviet176 : Its never been tested to run from a dvd/cd but it should work,the only thing I can see not working is the Game settings app changing the settings.

Ok I have a question:
I'm trying to run an .exe file located in a directory relative to the root directory of the game.
Essentialy I'm executing the main.exe which is trying to start another exe in a child directory. All file paths a relative and Vishnu starts the main.exe..but then the exe coudnt find the child directory and start the other exe.

Does anyone knows, how the Vishnu relative paths works?

@haidme :- What are you trying to pack a fpsc game or a none fpsc game.

The problem you having is that the main.exe can't find the child directory once the game is packed due to the protection system of vishnu.

The only way around this is to make the main.exe directory your working directory in your main.exe app.

Update :-

Looking into an issue that seem to have come up with the game not launching when clicking the launch button.

If you have this issue please put your computer specs and if you have to click the launch button many times to start the game.

s4, Dark House runs fine on my work (32bit W7) computer. Still no luck on my home (64bit W7) system. When I click launch there is no response.

Update :-

After a lot of testing and looking at the code vishnu seem's to be ok and the problem looks like it could be an fpsc issue with Dark House.

I'm adding some extra checks for 64bit to make it more stable anyway.

Sorry for the bump but I can confirm that games using vishnu packer do not run on a 64bit OS.
I couldn't run Dark House.

With all test people who could not play dark house could pack and play a game fine with vishnu packer.

Soviet176 It should decrypt pretty fast but it will take longer if there is a shortage of hard drive space, I will be adding a hard drive check to make sure the user has to free space to decrypt the game.

Also depends on what software is running in the background as well.

I bought your great program, and mostly it works great.


However When I use GameLancherFPSVishnu_Launcher_v1.0 and Vishnu_Packer_v9.0 I keep having to go to C:\Windows\Prefetch and delete all of the *.pf files related to both programs. Then delete Vishnu_Packer_v9.0 and reinstall.
The error I get in GameLancherFPSVishnu_Launcher_v1.0 after Vishnu_Packer_v9.0 finishes loading a game.

Image Object: /\Data\Background.jpg
Unable to display opject: File can not be loaded.

NOTE please, I can run the game that GameLancherFPSVishnu_Launcher_v1.0 makes, and every screen works great. Also If i only use Vishnu_Packer_v9.0 it works great.
The error is only when i use both programs Launcher then Vishnu_Packer_v9.0.

Now I have a feeling that it is the images in both programs all have to be the same size. I will retest this and post.

@ Meows,

You should not have to delete and reinstall any of the applications. Vishnu Launcher is the application to provide a launcher interface for your game. Vishnu Packer takes your game and packages/encrypts it. It seems a bit confusing why you need to delete and reinstall.

However, we can confirm your bug:

I was on the phone with s4real talking about this and he did confirm the bug. He has been working on the fix for this and once done, customers that bought Vishnu Launcher will have their update in their Order history on the site.

Hi I'm having a problem with Vishnu Packer 9. It packs the game ok, and decrypts it with no problem. But does nothing when I click 'Launch' once it's finished decrypting the packed game. No error messages come up, it just does nothing.

I've not had this problem before, VP has always worked 100% in the past. I'm wondering if there's a compatibilty issue with 1.19.9?

Unfortunately, I can't answer that, as I no longer have the version I packed using 1.18.17.

I've only noticed the problem when trying to pack my game again using 1.19.9.

(Just to clarify, it's the same game that I'm still working on, that I succesfully packed with VP 9 and 1.18.17, that I'm also unsuccesfully trying to pack using VP 9 and 1.19.9.)

Those quotes come from a couple of your posts near the top of this page. I know I'm being really picky, but I need to point out that you don't need several of those apostrophes. You typed "seem's" twice and "issue's" once and neither need the apostrophes. They should be "seems" and "issues". Sorry for being a grammar freak but it's just weird when people use apostrophes randomly.

LOL. Someone miss their afternoon tea?

I did a test pack and run using VMWare and FPSC v1.19. I had not received the issue that Bruce reported, but that does not mean it may not be there. I only used stock media to build a couple of levels. I will set some time aside this weekend to use custom media as well and see if I can replicate and trap the error.
