it's just a generic model i made about a week ago, i could send you it in any format ya want ... could edit it up a bit for the needs of the man & solider - provided you could give me a bit of refference for them, like a picture of the solider guy ya want and the guy you want.

won't do any editing today though, still need to recoupe.
though somehow i doubt it fits what your after as, i think you'd more want a more cartoony style character for what your working on hon. Details might not seem important to you but they often are for an artist no matter the incentive.

but as i said, just gimme a bell if you want the model to edit up yourself or want me to edit it up for ya.

Raven-- he looks a bit... underdeveloped... no? I mean, a bit more like a cave-man than a modern guy. No offense. I mean, it's a damn good model and all. Just something I noticed.

NWC-- we all start somewhere, besides, Raven apparently raytraced his, that's cheating

I think it looks great Raven.
He has a nice butt!

Only thing is...
it looks high-poly, is it?
and it's all one mesh right?
I prefer limbs.
Because I will want to animate it and I can't do bones.

As for textures...
They really just need to match the alien style.
If need be, I can tweak the textures to make them work.

underdeveloped like a caveman? ... weird when i finished the template i kinda thought he was the spitting image of fallout (in more way than one )

currently yeah its all a single mesh, and in its "as-is" state is 1,700 polygons - most of that is the head and hands though.
The head infact has far more detail than you'd ever need considering its setup for close up facial animation, got a mouth&teeth, working eyelids and seperate eyes, blah blah.

And the fingers had full human dexterity (which i was pretty proud of for only 160polys per hand)

i'm not entirely sure what Liquid means by Scoliosis (i don't have any clue what the hell that even is :S)
that aside, i'm not offering it in its "as-is" state unless you just want the max scene ... its just thats a read to go base, that anyone could tinker with to get some pretty decent results if they wanted to. So you can have the model to edit to your hearts delight if you want, or perhaps you could post some pics of what you want.

short'n'end of this is - do you want it yes or no?
if you don't then i won't bother editing it, if you do them grab me a pic of what your after exactly. I've not done my female template model yet, was gonna work on her over the next week.

Well well.. its a bending of the spine disorder, where the persons spine bends in more then normal.... and it's weird that you don't know that because most people who model humans, have a knowledge of the anatomy, and if you have a knowledge of the human anatomy, you should have a knowledge of disorders.. and there names...lol

but nothing against you on that... cause it is good to see somthing outta ya every once in a while...

and other then the weird back... this model does look good (nice with the beer gut...lol)

But there are so many people with deformed spines in the real world, so it would look natural when the models have some too.

now i'm really confused...
what beer gut?
are you even looking at my model here Liquid because if you are i think you need your eyes seriously checked ...

ya know this aside, i am gonna say this quite loudly and clearly so you can understand - THIS IS NOT A C&C SECTION, so keep your comments to yourself about its shape.
the picture was posted so that Randi would know what i have available if she wants it.

That aside, i forgot to post just for mouse's benifit - that the render was done with Max's Scanline Render'r, Default Light, Blinn Shading. The Anti-Aliasing is pretty bad even ...

@ Uberwiggett robx
That's got to be the ugliest model I have ever seen.
(That's a joke. LAUGH!!!)

@ Damokles
I never offered pictures of me for models.
Just one of my stuffed animals. Snoogles

@ Van B
Wouldn't you like to know!
It's top secret. I'm not saying anything this time.

@ Ermes
I sent you some models, but you can keep the pictures.
And don't get this thread locked just yet. I still haven't got any models.

@ Raven
Go ahead and send him, if you would.
I will dismember him and see what I can do.
At least it's something to work with.

why would it need one?

.. as for textureing that'll depend on the finished mesh really, right now he only has a basic cube mapped skin cause there is no point in going into detail on a mesh that'll be heavily edited for actual use.

i'll send the model when i get back home - provided Max and my computer are talking to each other again, i spent all of last nite with a system rebooting over and over and over again whenever i started Max ... i swear there is something fundimentally wrong with my computer atm. annoyingly every test i've run seems to think its in peak condition

-- -- --

i think before i send i'll remake the head a bit lower and do the slice'n'dice job for the limbs you'll want.
if i remember you've got Milkshape right? so i'll throw it in that and setup a limb system for it - should mean you'll just have to edit it a bit uv map and voila.

still gotta have Max or XSI open long enough tonite to make a Clone Trooper, Royal Guard, LAAT-i Gunship & AT-TX Walker
... and to think i was hoping i'd have time to get on with my personal projects

unless your opinion is asked for keep it to yourself!

don't even dare to EVER lecture me on anything again unless the next place you want to wake up in is A&E!
also if you absolutly have to make a comment i'd suggest you learn what the f**k your talking about before you make it.
from the angle of the pictures it is impossible to accurately tell me the curve of the spine of the model as most of it is hidden either from the front as the shape will change from the side and from the back the shadows are not realistic enough because there aren't enough polygons to accurately depict what you need to.

my suggestion to you is SHUT THE F**K UP and LEARN from what is shown, rather than making comments.

if you want to disregard the fact that UNLESS I ASK FOR C&C DO NOT GIVE IT! ... then you must first gain my respect for your talents and knowlage - something you are not even close to earning.
So keep quiet!

Oh that'd be right. Dismember Fallout, why don't you.

Btw, Raven your model looks fine. I don't see the beer gut. I think he'd look a little odd for a naked geeza, but with a clothes texture on him, the proportions will seem just about right. And obviously the shaved head makes him look dead hard like me.

what could you need my face for in the retro comp Ermes?
couldn't you like make something similar cause i'd rather my picture wasn't used - i hate the fact that it was even online in the first place ... i only put it up cause Cathy had said she was gonna post one of me, and i didn't know what pic she was gonna post (worried me a bit )

i edited it up a little before i left this morning so i'll probably finish it off tonite actually send you a decent version of the model - one looking like a random guy, and the other lookin military-ish.
Might even get the lil boy out of it if i really feel ambious lol

Is it me Raven, or can you not take any critism at all?

Did you not yell, instead of asnwering simple Questions, and responding to certain post's, that may i add were very reasonble seeing as you posted a screen of a model?

Are you not aware that if you post a picture of a model in public, it should be open to any Critism, Bad or not?

Are you aware that people were saying 'nice model', and that is considered critism?

You sir, in my opinion, are a hypocrital cry baby. You can't take critism, well atleast you can't take bad critism, or critism to help you because you think your the smartest, and greatest programmer/3d modeler.

I'll admit i suck at both, but you don't have the balls to admit anything.

Your model is f*cked up in parts, from the angle i am seeing he has a beer belly, and he has scoliosis(spinal Disorder) and I pointed these out and you yeled and screamed like a little chibi who has no brains, or the compotence to sh*t in a toilet.

I will leave this conversayion(as in this will be my last post in this conversation, i hope) with Raven, learn to take some f*cking critism, and stop crying like a c*nt when someone crit's a model you posted a screenshot of, in public.

good day

ehm, about Raven....
you know....
"live and let live" but don't touch Raven in anyway!!!!

come on boys, be more quiet and let Raven live!

@Liquidz Snake: your judgement on Raven's model can be right or wrong, it's a point of view.Raven did a good job,but i think if someone post here a pic must know it can be judged, if you want to avoid this , send the picture in private mode.

Ermes...
Don't be worried.
I can gaurentee you are not making a game like mine.
Looks can be deceiving.

You would never guess in a million years what the object of the game is.
...Or guess what actions that the alien does when button/keys are pressed.

"button/keys"
That means that you can use a joystick or keyboard.
I went and bought a joystick just for this contest.
And that's the truth. Because I have no game installed that will use it.
But then I don't really play games, just like to come up with ideas and make them.
Or at least try.

Sure Randi. You bought the joystick for the contest. Oh ... and don't tell me. It's force feedback, right? I've got a Wingman, and with dbpros force feedback commands you can get it to waggle annnnnnyway you want it to.

Uhhh, as for the whole Raven and feedback debate thing. I have a simple rule of feedback which everyone would do well to employ. It's just polite to be polite, and the only way is to be impartial. If your overall opinion is a bad one, it's your obligation to get that opinion across in the nicest of ways. Mention all the positive aspects and encourage, not discourage. Treat people as you would expect to be treated. If I thought Raven's model sucked, first off, I wouldn't says anything because he's not putting it on show for anybody's benefit except Randi's, and even if I did want to say something, I'd make an effort to complement the good points as well.

I mean, really guys, it may be the internet. I might not give two sh*ts about any of you guys, your mums, your dads or your grans, but at the end of the day, when someone's put some effort into something, it's just polite to consider their feelings now and then. There's nothing big about putting someones work down on the internet. I bet 99% of you wouldn't have the guts to say it to peoples faces.

If I post something up, I expect people to consider the effort than went into it, and the associated pride/sense of accomplishment I have. None of you would tell me something I've done was crap to my face, and I'd never do the same to you. I'm not saying this to anyone in particular, as I haven't thouroughly read all these posts about dissing work, but I'm just basing this rant on the vibe.

Insiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide!
