Here is my game
http://www.filefront.com/16820809/ECHWAMID.zip

Everything can happen when a man is dreaming

It doesn't have a story but only a background: a man is dreaming and every level is a piece of dream. There are 3 level but I had to make a single .exe for every level because if they were togheter the game will crash. I'm sorry for that. Known bugs: some enemies' weapons don't show up(I don't know how to fix that). Note : in level 2 there is a hidden weapon.I know that the game isn't so good but I didn't have the time to make it better.

To the dark ale,
I tried out your game (Im a competitor, not a judge. Dont worry) and it was a pretty decent display of X10 features. But Im not sure if you encountered this, but I had framerate drops that were pretty significant. My specs are AMD Phenom X4 II (3.2GHz Quad Core), 4GB DDr3 1333MHz, Nvidia GTX275, and 1TB Sata. So I dont know if it was my comp or not. But overall, from a competitor, I was pretty pleased with your game. Bravo! I am up against a worthy competition!

Best of luck. Last day!
Just a small question for the judges. How will we know who wins the contest? Will it simply be posted at the end of this thread? Or will a whole new one be created? Also, are you going to mention in detail what you did/did not like about the games, flaws, and other specifics? If you did, I think we'd all really appreciate it! Best of luck. May the best X10 game win!

From what I guess, each game will be reviewed and be given a score in each category, which then averages out to the overall score. Then, each judge's votes are compared with others and the winner is the one with the highest average score. I think that's how it'll work out .

And good luck to everyone!

Sadly he's gone today. He should be able to reply tomorrow.

We should post it at the end of this thread as soon as we both get a chance to review the games proper.

Uhh...Me and Budokaiman were just panning to play all the games and see which one we like best. Nothing so technical really.

I'm here for all of 5 minutes to see this thread, I can't reply right now.

Not really, we do make sure that they meet all of the specifications, and which ones meet them the best. There will be more information release after about seeing your scores.

@Susysyay
thanks for the compliments.I also liked your game(I played it beacuse I think it's better to know the competition),especially the environment, and I think you did a good job.

I also encountered this( and your computer is better than mine), but I thought the game was however playable..

Well thanks the dark ale! The environment was the single hardest part! I used the wireframe mode through most of the testing in order to make sure the FoV was eliminating unneccessary things from the world. After too many hours of frustration, I finally got a good result (only with X10! Not so good on FPSC V1.16) Anyway, I just have one small question. On level 2, was the grass glowing? If not dont worry. That was the only bug I couldnt seem to 100% work out. I believe it has something to do with my buiilding the game in Windows 7. Atleast, thats what Lee Bamber believed. Usually it doesnt happen. Thanks again

Best of luck,
Susysyay

I didn't notice that (I also use Windows 7). Maybe it is the bloom that I set stronger or maybe are the ammo glowing on the floor or maybe the illumination map. Really I don't know.

Best of luck also to you

Man, the silence on this is driving me crazy! So much suspense. No one is saying anything. And I hope the judges have straightened out the filesharing site problem. Hopefully it wasnt my game's site. Best of luck

Oh yes, there hasn't been an official announcement on this, and I don't know if you guys had seen the first page when it said this, but the issues with Le Shorte's game had been sorted out a bit ago, so he is a valid competitor in the contest. Just in case anyone was wondering.

BTW, I was looking at the prizes, and it says
A medieval or request (specifics TBD) pack by mgarand
Do we know if we can request a pack from mgarand yet? And if so, what packs are up for the winners?

Sorry that this is taking so long, you guys, I'm sure that every day that passes and you don't hear anything, you get more worried. Shadowtroid hasn't been around lately, but as soon as he gets back, we will judge the final games and announce the winner.

Ok, the moment you have all been waiting for. After careful discussion about each game, determining a close race between some of them, Shadowtroid and I have come up with a winner. We feel that this winner used X10s features to its best without making it obvious that they were just trying to use the features. This person had good framerates and no noticeable glitches. After a long discussion between two finalists, it is my pleasure to announce the winner of the X10 Revival Competition:

Grats Susysyay! Although I never did try your game (or anyone's for that matter, not even my own final entry ), I had a feeling it would win. It looked great.

Not to be intruding on privacy, but who was the other finalist? Ertlov?

Yup.

To be honest le shorte, we couldn't play your game. It crashed as soon as we opened it. Sadly that didn't fare well for your score.

Just played Prisoner at War. It was great. Dogs of War FTW. Couldn't have chose a better for the menu. I had the strange texture glitch with Vista on the first level. And I also jump on a rock, it sent me flying out of the map. Had to restart.
My crits: It was too bloomy and the ambience could have been higher, but that's just me.

Hey,
Not to rush anyone, but so far, Ive received Horizon's prize, Nilloc says his will be available soon, and The Next told me to email him abouty his website prize. Unfortunately, I CAN'T really find any use for a website at this time, so I will graciously give up The Next's prize. If the judges want, they can give it to someone else. I do not want it. I simply find no need for it at this time, and I think the prize would benefit someone else much better than me at this time.
Moving on, Im still waiting for everyone else's prizes, and if we can request a pack from mgarand or if its just the medevial pack. So whenever everyone else gets their prizes ready to send out, that would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Susysyay
