One last question, if we have multiple images, do we just make multiple posts, make a zip file with all the images, use hosting like photobucket, or how does it usually work?

One way to get multiple images into the compo thread would be to make a wip thread, post/upload the images there then grab the links to post here in the compo thread.

I use photobucket and it works great for me. I don't see many people complaining about my images not showing.

Cheers!

Photobucket is great. I've had it since it first started up, I have over 459 images and 4 videos and have only used up 10% of my total space. No adds either, and if someone clicks a link to the image, you don't get a bunch of random crap popping up.

Neo:
Your entry looks great. So that's a grunt? Blah, can't wait to see the big guy.

Photobucket it is for the final submission then.

To scare you all though, here's a wip screenshot of mine. Likely it'll be the final model, unless I change gears entirely and make something different (since there's plenty of time left..)

It might seem like a regular zombie at first but the truth is, he's really really tall (about twice as tall as a regular person) and is going to be similar to when you face a Tank in L4D. In-game screenshots later-on...

@Jingle: I thought it was against the rules to use previous work in these compos. Am I right?

Or did you just add that to your portfolio?

Edit: M'bad. I just checked the dates on the pictures.

Huh? Oh yea, I just added them. I did start the model after the competition started too by the way
I don't enter in these competitions usually because I miss them or don't have the time to make something specifically for it. This time it coincided with what I was going to be doing so it fit together perfectly.

You have 20 seconds to comply...

Awesome stuff, LBFN!

now that one should win.
impressive work, Neodelito

i can guess the results:
1-Neodelito's entry
2-kira's entry
3-either asteric's entry or lazerus's entry (if he will ever finish it, lol)

alright well i finished my entry.

the scene is 9058 poly's, the necromancer without the Cowl or the skirt towel thing(honestly not sure what its called) is 2827 poly's. which is mostly the shackles. without shackles the model is 843 polies(the character alone)

btw mods i know this is a 3D model competition but i think it would be kinda cool, if models required some background story with them(like what they are based around) maybe just a short paragraph about the model itself. or maybe the competition be based around a theme and then the paragraph have to describe how the model relates to the theme. really just suggesting ways to let the judges in on what the model was making.

like for this comp the model would be explained how it was a boss. since they are being judged as end game bosses.

I think some of the fun of some of these models/character/scenes is trying to portray the story behind them without having to write a paragraph, same thing with explaining how they relate.

Just my two cents.

Alright, I think you can consider this final.

I would've liked to rig it and do a beauty render, but time's a little short.

The final model weighs in at 80840 polies.

There are links to 1280x960 renders under each picture.

10 entries were gathered, including Ortu's demon.

Judging is tough this time, but the process has begun.

The results should be in the newsletter, but if they don't get there in time, I'll post the winners here on the 1st.

This was a great Compo! Thanks to everyone who participated.

Cheers!

My Apologies to LBFN..

Apparently one of the entries (from LBFN) slipped through my fingers when I was gathering the final entries.

Not a bad mech if I do say so myself, kind of reminds me of those big sentry/guard bots in Robocop.

I'd like to offer my sincere apologies to LBFN for my oversight and his subsequent omission from the compo judging. While I cannot reverse the effects of this omission, I can at the very least offer this public apology. I will take it upon myself to be more diligent in the future. Also from now on I'll post the 'current entries' on the last day of the compo, in the compo thread. That way if anyone sees that I missed an entry they have time to point out any entry I may have missed.

Again Sorry for my oversight,

Sincerely

David E. Gervais
