Thanks Nomad Soul, My texture work is all I have to rely on right now. So I have to do it all by hand. I cant afford to get an app like "SILO" to build high poly models for Normal map generation, so I rely on my painting, and Paste-up skills to compensate.

Also you must realize that I put a lot more work into this pack, due to the fact that it will be sold. Although I try and make all my "Free Stuff" look good, It's not the same quality as what I would expect someone to pay for.

If I'm gonna take your hard earned money, Then I have to work just as hard, so you get the best work possible for every nickle!

That's just good business.

Thanks Again.

For my friend Heltor!

Sure did, You made a good point about the arms, It seems to be kind of a catch 22. The rig definatly draws the arms and makes them look weird, but at the same time, if they are not modeled to the rig just right, they get all screwed up when animating. As far as the faces go, I use "royalty free" photo textures of actual people. Perhaps I can make some tweaks to the head mesh to improve the look. I'll work on that.

Thanks for the input! And forgive me, For not responding, I read every post, and consider everything, even if I dont comment on them directly. A bad habit I should break.

Oh wow, thank you so very much Cosmic. I really appreciate the generousity. Having been a huge fan of every single other previous release you've made (although albeit my forum presence is fairly limited), this release was really exciting so, again thanks man.

Best of luck with everything! And out of curiousity, did your wife perhaps play a role in the production of the pack?

Cheers.

Life would be much easier if I had the source code.

Very nice pack, what I like about this is that we have a full games worth of characters, very useful for a developers arsenal.

You mentioned normal maps high poly characters, cost of software, here is a tool that's free, the creator was snapped up my Pixologic makers of ZBrush, no doubt to stop him putting their product out of business, I bet that's worth a lot 'more' than the cubicle wage/salary they will be paying him eh? His site now carries their logo with a tag line Pixologic makers of ZBrush - we're are taking Sculptris even further. Yea sure you are, more like you are taking it off the market.

Anyway, free version here.
http://www.sculptris.com/

If I was that talented a programmer, I would of undercut them and taken them out of the game, their staff would then work in my hive, not me work in theirs.

Tony: Really... I always pictured you in something like this.

Believe it, or not, I actually found this one "Free" on turbosquid.

http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/270273

It's got a royalty free licence. It's not a bad model if you ask me. This is what it looks like with Bonds' static entity shader applied. Besides, I love that car.

Very, very good characters, Let me know when you are ready to release. I'll get there early with my tent Holding CP mug and stand in line. Oh wait.. you will be selling this on-line.

Great Job, The first one is my favorite (I don't care who she looks like), don't change that one, ok.

Turbo gives that (68 charger?) away free because they get a cut of the speeding tickets people get when driving it.

Cosmic Prophet:
I did a little research how I could retexture your other character models to fit the Wastelanders and rediscoverd your SF Trooper from the original SF Pack (the one that comes in green and grey).

If you could just remodell the head and add some shoulder pads it would make an excellent Fallout:"Brotherhood of Steel" inspired power armour trooper. If a little yellow colour gets mixed into the armor suit it would go really well with the stock minigun.

Which would be a great addition for your pack imho (just my 2 bottle caps)

I had to make a few changes like that Sherriff crap on the roof, and the tag, and the passenger seat, and took off the ramming blades.. (see attached image)
You're right though, that is a nice ride for a freebie.

Check out the muddy green one... (see attached image)
I think black with red racing stripes is next.

Edit
I still need a little adustments to tweak the stripes, but this wasn't too bad for a first attempt...

... I did the paint job and stripes as separate layers, so throwing on different paint schemes will be a snap now.

HA! SMOKIN!!! With a little creative texturing, the interior would not be hard to clean up either. If your gonna restore it, go all the way, you could easily add a gear shift to the console as well. The garage is open.

The paint job is probably all I will do with the texture.
Since it has multiple textures already, merging another mesh in should be easy enough, so I will use one of your characters for a driver.
Actually, any of them would make a good driver or passenger for the car, but I think the car fits the guy with the mohawk or the guy with the painted face.
I'll probably have those two guys cruising around together in it, and riggin it for animation should be easy since the wheels are already separate groups.
I really do like this find, and I might chop the top on it too at some point for a convertible. (or just animate that top to fold in)

Yeah Man!! Check it out.

It could be used with this guy too. His name is "TOOL". He runs the garage " Tool's Shed". You cant see it good in the pics, but the backpack version he's got his mug, and a welding torch strapped to the pack.

That bio-mechanical arm gives him a nice edge.

Due to it's size it needs a lot of room to move around in. Thanks for the help on that one.

Just out of curiosity, what was your inspiration for the warrior guy with the painted face?

I know some of the others were inspired by real people, but were all of them?

Some of my favorite films while I was growng up were stuff like "Mad Max" and "The Road Warrior". My Dad ran a movie theatre for 20 some years, and through the 70'-80's I was a permanant fixture in the front row.

So Films in general have always been an inspiration for my work.

How's the beta testing going?

You are so lucky.
I'm a film nut, but we had to sneak in the backdoor to see all the movies as kids, because we rarely had the extra money for theatres. (and sneaking in was more fun)
So, I'm sure your Dad would hate me.

Lord Humungus, ruler of the wasteland!

I liked the Nightrider (a fuel injected suicide machine!) in Mad Max better than Humungus. (but Humungus does look tougher)

The mask makes Humungus a talker too!

I was going to do grunts like ugh and untugh for the guy with the sewn shut lips. (but then I thought of something better)

On a side note though, be careful about making them too much like your inspiration, or someone might yell about using their likeness without persmission or something.

And on another side note, if I had to dress like Humungus, then I would want a mask on too.

Quote: "That dude there, Just kick him in the nuts he will go down."

lol easy target indeed, but the studs on his outfit may be providing him armor against such an attack.
He may be wearing a cup and just waiting for you to make that mistake.

I would probably slash the inside of his thigh since his other arteries are covered by the little bit of armor he is wearing. ( a stab in the underarm would work too)
I say stab, because ammo is the issue for post apocalyptic. (blades need no ammo)

Oh, I know, As you can see there are major differences between the two. There were a few others from that film, that gave me some ideas for other characters as well.

Maybe for "Wastelanders 2"!
