I'll watch a few episodes of EqG before I formulate an opinion. Judging from the things I have seen of it (mostly tumblr), it's not being received very well, and is considered just another marketing spree of Hasbro.

this might have come up before but where did you first find out about mlp and what were your thoughts?

i found the episodes posted on funnyjunk.com and knowing FJ i thought it was some inside joke (when MLP started appearing on FJ i didnt visit the site for a while and thought it was just someone trolling someone else)

And then everyone else around me was like http://media.tumblr.com/122833958c2140748c3f6fa381599bf6/tumblr_inline_mn865l6T0Z1qz4rgp.jpg

It'll be on german TV on the weekend of GalaCon (3rd/4th August) and I might get to see it at the Con if they get the rights to do that. Although that'll be the german version and the official language of the Con is english because there'll be people from other countries. But still unclear if they'll be able to show it.

But that's probably not a coincidence either, that it's the same date.

I liked the movie up until the finale. That stuff towards the end had me go "WTF?!" multiple times.

But yeah, other than that, it was better than I had expected it to be, honestly.

And other than that? Only a few days left until GalaCon, I'm pretty excited (or 'nervouscited'? ) by now. That'll be awesome.

Somebody requested this video in GMOD cinema mode the other day. It was actually pretty cool. A warning though, it's definitely a "Brony" video...

What on earth do you mean with this statement?

I also find it interesting that it's fine to post grim dark gore on this forum, and yet everyone flips their crap if you even mention anything sexual.

no. I find it extremely offensive and I feel I've been scarred by seeing these cute and colourful, innocent ponies being horrifically chopped up by machinery to produce rainbows. Did you even see the brutality in the video?

Great - find a new forum that is not centered on game creation - which, for 60% of it, is centered about gore.

I know and agree to your points thecomet - I agree that it's stupid that in our society gore is nothing, next to naked bodies - but I am sick and tired of this discussion. We've had it - we've had final word on it over and over and going around throwing comments about it only leads to irritation.

But... it's cool

By a "brony" video I meant how it's the kind of thing which could only come from the "brony" subculture, and how it's not appropriate for a non-brony fan of the show, aka a little kid, to watch.

It's incorrect to say stuff like this can only come from the Brony subculture. The fact is that every subculture has a gore and rule 34 sub-section.

Whatever, I'll drop it. This forum is a joke when it comes to the classification of "adult" material anyway.

Sometimes when you work freelance, you get sent to Baltimore to film a convention of mostly adult mostly male fans of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”. For me this past weekend was that weekend.

And yes: as the video explores, it was not as weird as you might expect - don’t get me wrong, it was very weird, but not super-uncomfortable-weird. Not all the time at least."

There are rules on the internet, one of them being quite popular among the MLP fandom. Let's just say button's mum is now the new hype of this rule. Rule 2^5+2

I'm referring to references to "Button's Mom". Do a google search on it and you'll see what I mean. It could very well be the most sexualized character from MLP. I'm guessing CoffeeGrunt isn't enough of a fan to know this.
