IMO the mere life of one person is a lot more important than a landmark.

Yeah, now multiply that by 1000x and you'll see why 9/11 is such a horrible tragedy.

I personally believe bush all the way. I looked beyond that watch news, conventions, debates ect.. and kerry is just another democrat just going with what some people want. I mean I watched when he was a senator and I saw him once! He is another stupid democrat/socialist (no offense to english people)!

hey i havent been around much. i used to be all thankful and stuff for dbspot but now that db spot is gone, i just feel that i shound go against jimmy. alright heres why you shouldnt vote for bush and remeber that these are all facts, not my opinion.

1.bush said there were WMDs in iraq.
2.there arent.
3.in addition to costing over 200 billion, over 1000 troops lost there lives and probably many more civilians.
4.if you think saying that saddam being a bad leader and possibly killing his own people is enough of a reason, why arent we invading all the countries with oppresive governments? dont say that iraq is the only country.

so what do you have to say to that? huh jimmy "i have no desire to continue my host"?

I agree with Pet Rat. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm french(canadian). But Bush did kill alot of people. The Eifel Tower is just a peice of art made for some competion, but the world trade center is filled with PEOPLE.

Bush IS a sh!t and has NO idea what he's doing. He went after Saddam when Osama sits and sips lattés in afganistan. I agree with Moore(kinda). What I beleive is that the whole world is run by the corporations, politicians are just a mask. That's why we spend so much money on taxes, and not enough on stopping rapists and sadistic nuts.

Theese political debates are alot like religeon debates.

You should be grateful Jimmy even offered hosting in the first place, it costs a lot of time, effort and money to offer hosting to people and the fact that Jimmy offered it for free is amazing. When someone can no longer support something like DBSpot, they can't do anything but pull out. He doesn't owe anything to you or anybody else, he was simply doing the community a favour. Now what have you done for anyone lately?

1. Bush said what he was told by people who no longer have their jobs.
2. You don't know that, Saddam had to use SOMETHING to wipe out entire villages.
3. I'd accept this as a fact if you didn't say 'probably'
4. He DID kill his own people, childrens' heads don't fill up with gas and explode on their own.

On a side note: That's right I have no desire to continue my host. I've decided to spend my money on more important things. You got what you paid for, get over it.

Cool, another person who doesn't understand American government. Not sure how it is over in Canada, but here in the US, it's the taxes themselves that go to stopping rapists and sadistic nuts.

And btw, no one said it was bad to destroy landmarks but ok to kill people. You're only twisting the argument again by ignoring the point that you made earlier. Here, we call this flip-flopping. Much like the flip-flopping attitude of Kerry.

Does it matter how they die?

150,000 people die on an avrage day.
The ammount of people that died on the twin towers is 0.6% of that.

Ilya, I don't care if 150,000 people die per day.

That's only 0.0025% of the population.
Who cares?

Yes, I think it does matter how you die. To me there is a difference between dieing peacefully in your sleep and getting incinerated. But hey, that's just me...

@Manticore - No, I totally agree. They're are both bad, it just seems Pet Rat was trying to imply I didn't care if people died.

@Peter - Yeah, I can see it coming

Bush seems a little... Mmm.. Odd...
Then again so does kerry...
So why not vote for Ralph Nader(sp?)? That's my vote, He'll eventually win one of these elections... Or maybe not, but lets hope we get some better people.

And Ilya's personall opinion is his, not yours, he has the right to have an opinion. Who made the trade centers? Who made the Effel tower? Who made the statue of liberty? Who made Darkbasic? That's right. People. If people die, then the landmarks have nothing to represent but the sad history and loss of those people... Maybe I'm just making things up becuase it's late.... Would you choose your life? Or the Statue of Liberty? Your life? Or the Effel Towers? Your life? Or TV? I'm sure Bush would get quite a bit of trouble if he offered the life of some innocent person, to keep the whitehouse, or the pentagon...

I'm sure Bush's intentions were right.. Or not... But when did he say he'd be out of Iraq again? Election time is coming Bush, hurry up.

Why did those 150,000 people die again?

It doesn't matter if they're unnatural.
And if you think it does, do you think all the 150,000 deaths a day are natural?
At least 1000 of them aren't.

Those landmarks took time and effort to make - especially the Effel Tower. Are you refering to 1 person or the entire human race?

Yes, it does. It means their deaths could have been prevented, one of those people could have gone on to cure cancer for all we know.

Quote: "And if you think it does, do you think all the 150,000 deaths a day are natural?

And that's why we're trying to stop those deaths as well, why do you think we have fire fighters? Policeman? Hospitals? Why do we offer aid to third world countries? It's to stop the unnatural deaths.

Maybe you're thinking of tombstones, but when I see the Statue of Liberty, it reminds me of American patriotism, not the number of murders in Detroit.

Quote: "But when did he say he'd be out of Iraq again?"

Bush said from the beginning that there would be a US presence in Iraq for at least several years. He only said that Iraq would be given control of its government, which already has happened.

It doesn't matter how many people die unnaturally or whether it's homicide, accidental death, or rape. It's the fact that you don't seem to express any condolences for those who die.

You've already said the amount of people that die each day is an insignificant number so how's it going to make a difference if we save their lives anyway? Overpopulation is an entirely different issue and it's the reason China has the one-child policy and a lot of countries promote contraception.

Quote: "And if they're deaths were natural, they couldn'tve been prevented?"

Well isn't that what a natural death is? One that couldn't have been prevented. I.e. Dying of old age.

Ilya, do you have any hope at all? Any nobolity or honor?

If a complete stranger was pinned under a car would you try to help them? I don't think you would.

What happened on 9/11 was murder and almost every government in the world wants to stop murder. But I guess you don't care, you don't know them. Wake up and smell the humanity. And cherry pie.

Hope for what? How does hope relate to me not caring if people I don't know and never ment before die? People who are nobol and honored probably also don't care about most of the 150,000 people who die every day.
