Perhaps this attachment can shed some light on this... pardon the pun.

The attached project shows a .x file that casts shadows from Point Light on itself and another box. Use W and S to move forward/backward and mouse to look around.

But there are two problems...

First, the shadows seem 'inverted' if the shadow is cast upon the camera. The lighted spaces become shadowed, and the space where the shadows should be changes into lighted zones. Run the attached project, you'll see.

And second, I can't get any light other than Light 0 to cast shadows. Why is this happening?

Can anyone please help? It'd be greatly appreciated.

[EDIT]

Sorry! Wrong post! I meant this message for 'Light and Shadow' post, not this one.

Anyway, the problem persists, and since people like Math89 uses DBPro lights for great effects, perhaps you guys will be able to help.

Les images de ton editeur on plutôt l'aire d'être un mellange de doom et de half-life. Aniway, this is looking great. I've played the first demo. I like it.

Could you let the community take the game up? It had lots of potential, and I would love to take it up, and I bet lots of other users would too.

Why don't you upload your game for download on http://www.filefront.com
It's a free service we're you got unlimited bandwich and can upload up to 1 GB. I know it's not a very professional way of doing it But it's better than nothing I use filefront myself. The waiting times for the downloads are never too long. And the downloads are fast. Also it's a reliable service

Math89, since you have discontinued the project, post it open source or something so someone can continue it. I would really love it if you continued with the project. It had lots of potential.

That scared my pants off!! Good job!

But it would have been nice if the bad guys had died...
And I stopped playing with -218 health, and never ran out of bullets, although I reloaded many times.

Yeah, weapons and lifes are unlimited. A lot of people said me that ennemies never die but I never had this problem :S. I know that the collisions aren't perfect at all : collision mesh is the ennemy's mesh at frame 0 so when object is animated, the collision mesh stay the same, so aim the torso.

Math89 - thats a really nice demo - some very cool effects there, the lighting is great

Unfortunatley I can't play it too much because it doesn't like having multiple monitors (I use 3 at once) - it keeps clicking outside and returning to windows.

Game dev - you need to downlaod both rar files and unrar them in the same directory.

" thats a really nice demo - some very cool effects there, the lighting is great "
Thank you , I really worked on the lighting effects, I think it's one of the most important things on a game.

"I really like the game, and I hope that you decide to continue the project"
I'll not continue this project, but I'll maybe restart it with a new engine (I am currently working on a new level editor).

"How do you make the gun move back and forth?"
I just use some sin/cos to position the gun.

Math89: I used the sin and cos values, and I came out with some better gun movement than what you already have in the game. Would you be able to release a level editor out? I really would like to use something of that quality in a game of mine.

Will you release it soon? I would like to also know if there will be an import for DBP with it. I am in desperate need of one. Would you like that code for the better gun movement?

I don't know exactly when I will release it, maybe 2 weeks - a month, and yes, I'll give a code to load maps in dbp. I have good lighting because I have enough polygons on each object ( 4*4 for a wall).

I don't really need a gun movement but if you want...

I really enjoy playing the game math89. Will the level editor be free? I would like to use it for my next project. Right now I am just developing the graphics and game engine. What did you use for physics and collisions in the game?

Yeah, it will be free and will be release soon (maybe next week). There is not physics in the game but I use Sparky's dll for the collisions.
