I know what you mean, that's why I didn't post my Matrix-type movie. I actually intend on submiting it to an international film festival, see if it'll go through. Best way to become a director. If you want to find it sometimes next year on ONDEMAND, if you have it, then it'll be called "Lucid Dreaming". Basically about a guy who gets stuck in between the dream world and the human world. So he is able to control things in real and in dream world. Kind of strange, but the CG, Wireworks, and all of that will be placed. I may be able to post it under general talk. Or I can e-mail it to you. The video itself will be clobberred with credits, so I shouldn't have anything to worry about.

My video of Lucid Dreaming won a 1st place vote when I submitted it to my school's newpaper. There was a compo on the best film. Some of them were so good that it seemed impossible to win, but I pulled it off somehow.I'm already making a sequel, which is even better than the first.

your guess is as good as mine! I found the file it came from, by the name I think it installed itself (installer4_thin[1].exe).

The effect (as far as I'm aware of) is it gives me lots of popups and it underlines LOTS of words and makes them links to other websites.

For instance, it underlines the word "Game" and makes it a link to an online casino.

That really sucks. So if you have to do a report for school then you can't do it at home, unless you want to make it look sub-parr. Hope you're not trying to write books.

You may have installed a program into your computer that gave you the virus because the install file attracted other files and clumped together into a virus or something. Not sure how it can happen. Come to think of it, I think I need to check for viruses as well.

yeah, I found the install files in two of the user accounts (i.e Administrator, User1, User2 etc)

one was in my sisters and another was in my moms
But it only effects the Administrator account (the one I use).
At least I can't be blamed for getting it

lol, if one of the mods gave it to me, then I'm joining Merranvo in the Anti-Mod thinggummy.

@nutty compressor

I hear ya. I've got Norton 2003, helps alot. The only thing I hate is when the screen says "Symantec E-mail Proxy" It bugs me!

@Sunflash

I may join the Anti-mod thing, but that would change my life alot...lol...NOT! Yeah, sometimes the Administrator's computer gets fried even from the other users. One time I downloaded a program to help me with my firewall and it gave my dad's computer (administrator's computer), a virus. lol, he was mad and grounded me for a day, even though it was worth it, my firewall works twice as good now.

Yeah, I'm gonna get on doing some CG stuff. See what I can do with full quality stuff. Hopefully, I can model the characters in the game for the cutscenes. The only problem is, do U know how to script the beginning video into the FPSC? I don't, so you'll have to find that out if U don't. Anyway, have you thought up a list of levels yet? U know, like missions and stuff. Also, is this going to be like the game Kingdom hearts where you can level up in power? Just asking.

@Lavits
hmmm, it could be like Kingdom Hearts. But I havn't ever played that game so I couldn't exactly say, however, level powering up could be a good idea.

P.S. good luck on the CG stuff, hope it goes well!

@gamlord
Thanks for the tree, I havn't downloaded it yet, but I'm sure it will be great!

VERY VERY sorry Lavits, I didn't answer all you questions

Quote: "The only problem is, do U know how to script the beginning video into the FPSC? I don't, so you'll have to find that out if U don't."

Yes, I think it might be bossible in V1. If not, someone made a program just for putting a movie at the start of your game, not sure if you can put them between levels tho.

Quote: "Anyway, have you thought up a list of levels yet? U know, like missions and stuff."

Well... no... but I started when I read your post

heres some I came up with:

1) Do chores for Abbot/Friar Hugo. (pick fruit from orchards .etc)
2) Steal candied chestnuts from kitchen.
3) Fish for feast.
4) Take Cornflower and family home, avoid rats.
5) Try to save Tapestry from being stolen, if you do, you get some sort of bonus.

I could think of more, I just ran out of time.
Obviusly we need lots of cutscenes between some of the level ideas.

ok, the intro can be seperate. We can release it like, a couple of months before the game comes out.

Any ideas for the intro for the game?
I think it would be cool to use LOTR like music.

I have an Idea for the Mossflower game intro, but thats a bit to far in the future.

it's a dark room, the only light is from a flickering candle, in it's pale light you can see the form of Bella of Brockhall in an old chair, in the dark quite a ways away, slowly tip toeing it's way threw the old and dark Brockhall house, a small nut falls from the small creatures pockets, it lands on the floor. Bella is instantly awakened, she squints into the darkness, "is that you Gonfflet?" she asks, Gonfflet shyly/hesitantly walks up to Bella, "come here and let me get a good look at you" says Bella, she lifts Gonflett up onto her lap, "are those candied chest nuts you have in your mouth?" Gonfflet makes a large gulp as the nuts go down his throat, he looks ambarassed, "yes marm" Nella gets a mad look on her face, "you should be ashamed of yourself Gonfflet, you know not to steal!" then her glare softens "how like your father" she then looks off into the distance, Gonfflet raises his head at the mention of his father "cans you tell me uh stowy Belwa?" he asks hopefully, Bella looks down on Gonflett with a smile, I suppose, just one more, then I'll take a nap. She stares off into the distance as she starts her tale, "it was the coldest winter that Mossflower had ever seen..."

then some theme song starts up as the movie shows Martin walking in the snow, then getting attacked by vermin, and many other parts of the book.

this would be fun to do, but it would take people who know all about flash and stuff.

sorry about the double post, but I found a screensaver that could help us develop Redwall Abbey.

I also found a sound effects download (it's like 100MB so beware!!!)
here it is:

I know, I used the screensaver about two months ago. I also went there to get a desktop theme, wouldn't recommend it though. It makes too much noise. Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I was on vacation. I'm back now and I have thought of a new level for when Cluny attacks. It's when you have to aid the four walls to prevent rats from flooding it, then you have to go onto the grounds and hold off the rats charging thorugh or something. Sounds neat, should be a good idea.
Also, I am starting an RPG game with RPG Maker, even though I cannot sell the game, it should be fun.

Also, to talk about the modelling, I have a team for Darkbasic called Keoll Productions. One of my friends who has agreed to be the modeller has decided to help. He may be able to do Basil Stagg hare, but Matthias will be easier. For the weapons we may be able to whip something up. My modeller has created a sword and could possibly remake it to say "I am that is" on the side. Although, you wouldn't be getting until the level where you have to fight asmodeous. that will probably be the hardest, fighting asmodeous that is.

I downloaded it from RPGinfinity.com. I don't know if it is still up or if it is under construction, but that's where I got it from. I'm using 2003 version because it is easier to use. Another thing, the redwall RPG is half way finished. This game has to do with a time portal, so you are playing as a mouse, traveling through the different books. The first is the Martin the Warrior, then Mossflower, then Redwall, then Mattimeo, then maybe salamandastron. It's gonna be cool.

I forgot to mention that I can give you sound effects to go with the swords and stuff, even what the enemies say before they die and when they see you. I can get all of that. My friend, named Kenneth (the modeller), has been informed about the remake of the sword and also of the characters. he may be able to make a few he said.

I am also writing a book called "The legend of the Blue Flame", you may be able to find it in libraries, I'll talk about it in the General talk after it is finished, but this is sidetracking the real reason for me posting. For the intro for the Redwall game, are you talking about a teaser? If you are, then have it first showing cluny on the cart riding along and have the narration start. Then show battles going on, then word conflicts between the two sides, then more battles. Should be interesting.

Ahhh! I get V1 free of charge! Ohh yeah!!!

@sunflash: You sound like those Creative Directors or whatever they call them, dunno if you actually are that type of person. But yes, usually my idea is what they usualluy have in all movie teasers. Are U an EA user?

Some more questions:

1) Have you read the entire redwall series?
2) If so, list your favorite character from each book on your next post.

My reason for putting this question and request on the board is that I am making a poll for each book on thier favorite character. here is the poll so far by the leading characters...

redwall: Matthias
mossflower: Gonff
Mattimeo: basil stagg hare
mariel of redwall: Mariel
Pearls of Lutra: undecided
Salamandastron: Mara (don't know why most have picked this)
martin the warrior: brome
Marlfox: Dann
taggerung: taggerung
Outcast of redwall: Sunflash

So far, that is all. Please choose for each book.

Yes, I am an EA user (yup, free V1 for us! And I think they're making a model pack for EA users too.)

1) Yes, and I can't wait for High Rhulain to come out!
2) Oh man, that is sooooooo hard! I'll try.

redwall: Matthias
mossflower: Martin
Mattimeo: Orlando/Mattmeo/Basil I guess (to hard to choose one)
mariel of redwall: Mariel/Dandin
Pearls of Lutra: Grath Longfletch/Martin II
Salamandastron: Fehrago/Klitch/Samkim/Thrug
martin the warrior: Feldoh/Martin/Rose/Brome (I have so many good memorys of this book)
Marlfox: Mokkan/Dann
taggerung: Tagg and his fake dad (whats his name?)
Outcast of redwall: Sunflash... can you tell?
The Bellmaker: Finnbar/Rosmary/Joseph.
Pearls Of Lutra: Martin II/Grath/Tansy.
The Long Patrol: Tammo/Cregga Rose Eyes
Legend Of Luke: Luke/Martin
Lord Brocktree: Brocktree/Bucko/Dotti
Triss: Triss/Kurda
Rakety Tam: Tam/Gulo

If you want me to only choose one then I can.

no, Rakety Tam has been out in the states for quite some time, and High Rhulain is going to come out in September sometime.
(check www.redwall.org to find out)

I live in the US and have seen Rakety Tam in stores alot

High Rhulain:

Young Tiria Wildlough is an ottermaid touched by the paw of destiny. Her epic adventure takes her on a journey from Redwall Abbey across the Great Western Sea, to the mysterious Green Isle. There she must fulfill an ancient prophecy and gain her inheritance.

Green Isle is home to the otterclans, but they are beset by dangers from Wildcat chieftain Riggu Fellis and his catguard slave masters. Aided by two birds and a platoon of Long Patrol hares, Tiria joins forces with the outlaw leader of the otterclans in a battle that will test all their courage and skill.

In the true tradition of Redwall comes a new saga full of feasts and fighting, riddles and quests, and a heroine you’re not likely to forget as she strives to become the chosen one—the High Rhulain

Yeah. Is it one of those little ankle biters? I hate those. One time one of my mom's dogs came over, (of course it was an anklebiter dog), and attacked me. So I kicked it across the room and it hit the wall, it never attacked me again. Even though my mom said what I did was cruel, the dog is stupid, that was the only way for it to learn its lesson.

Didn't know you've never heard of Tekken, Sunflash. I thought almost everyone did. Hmm, ohh well. If you've ever played Super Smash Bros. then you'll know what I mean, that type of game.

ship it off to the glue factory! ahem... did I say that?

ok, I looked up Super Smash Bros. (yes thats right, I havn't played that games either... at least I had heard of it.) No, our Redwall game will hopefully not be like that. I would like it to be a bunch of missions like:

1) Escape from Marshank
2) Row accross broadstream
3) Save that little twirp pigmy shrew thing
4) Find the Wardon of Marshwood hill. (complete the ridlde)
5) Kill Badrang

it will probably be more like a re-enactment of the books. It would be nice if we could use cutscenes too, but if we have too, we could just use audio clips from the audio tapes and have a black screen while it plays.

Another note, for those of you who havn't read all the posts in this thread, the team has NOT been organized yet, it won't be until at least V2 has come out. this will give us many more options then we currently have.

So if you want to be part of the team, your time isn't out yet, all you have to do is prove yourself worthy by giving us some of the folowing:

1) Models (must be compatable with FPSC)
2) Textures
3) Sound files
4) Model websites that have models we might need
5) Websites with sound files we might need
6) If you can model, then we would like the some of the things listed on page 1.

Note, when you join the team you will also need a specialty, somthing like the following:

1) Modeler
2) Texture maker
3) Model converter (makes models FPSC compatable)
4) Terain maker
5) Map maker (makes the actual buildings and structures)
6) Cutscenes developer
7) Scripter
8) Odd jobs (things that we need done but don't have the time to do)
9) Money Donater (J/K)
10) Anything that you think we need, and we agree to have.
11) Tree/Plant makers (for the woods)

Remember, you don't have to be part of the team to help us out, you can give us textures and things you think we might need.

EDIT:

Quote: "I think we get the download September 21st by email... could be wrong tho."

Lol, I read the TGC Pricing thread again, they're going to give EA users V1 before the street release date, and I think the street release dat is 22nd of September, not the 21st.
So EA users will probably be able to download V1 on the 10th of September or something!

When FPSC gets good enough, lets make a Redwall game!

hmmm, I downloaded it fine, but my model converter won't let me see what it looks like. it dosnt support .SVG models. does anyone else have a model converter (demo of Deep Exploration) that supports it? If so then please post a screenshot of the axe model!

Deep Exploration will convert models to .X for me so that it can be used in FPSC, thats why I like it so much, but my dad recently told me that he would help pay for programs that would help me with FPSC, so maybe I'll buy a better model converter!

This reminds me, David, (The Nutty Compressor) what program do you use to model with?

EDIT: since I havn't actually ever heard of .SVG files, is there any special way I need to look at it?

Yet Another EDIT: Ok, I got a program that let me view the files, with a bit of texturing and indepth modeling that could be spectacular model! All I need is a program that converts those models to .X format, the texture files to be .TGA and seperate from the model, then we're good to go!

David, what program does your sister use to model? And what type of file format does she use? (I.E .TGA .SVG or .3DS)
In response to your email, yes, I would definently give credit to your sister for modeling! I only hope that Lee decides to make a credits page for FPSC in V2. If not, then I will make a credits page on a websit or somthing.

I use adobe illustrator too. Not too good with it though.

By the way, speaking of V2, I wager that it will come out within a year from now. Not exactly of course.
