Mach has fedback on the theme of the new compo, so I'll copy and paste what he decided;

Well whats your dream boy, doesn't necessarily have to be sexual desire, as long as it goes with the theme and theme rules its fine, and well when the rules are ambiguous thats a bonus, meaning you've got more of a choice

@Megaton, its just a face anyway, so no Angelina Jolie hips, besides, I'm not doing some teen with huge breasts , I'm doing an oriental girl, I think they are the best looking girls, whether or not my model will show that I dunno.

I'll do a high poly head model of a girl I hope to put in an adventure game I plan to do in the (hopefully) near future.

This is going to be my first realistic human head... well, ever. So I hope I have fun with it, rather than a heart attack.

Faces are the hardest part in modelling a character, so I chose this topic... Although it would kinda be unfair if the entry is a boy/man because most modelers are men...

Anyway, I started mine, and she turned out crap, so I'm gonna edit that version and turn her into a jester, because the chin is almost right for that

@Oddmind, I guess you weren't here at the start of the compos, so I'll let in a few rules,

The winner gets to choose the new theme and have additional rules (In this case the additional ruling is the time limit, of course there is a limit to that)
The winner can enter their piece but NO ONE can vote for it, last time it was The Crazy, he entered his piece, no one was allowed to vote for him, someone did and I reminded them and they changed their vote.

Also if Mach does enter again I'll redirect him to a forum where his work will be of a similar level to those entering the compo's on that forum.

Hope that clears up things a little

I have certain..well...issues. I am using Wings 3d and my problem is...my mouths look horrible and can't get a nose, and I havent even attempted hair yet...any suggestions?

Hell, even tell me the way the basic polygons should be around the nose and mouth, not extruded, just for the bases, because that would help. And no, stuff like, the nose is triangular doesnt help, a little more in depth, or a ref to a tutorial would work.

full model is <3000 polys, built in Milkshape and textured using Photoshop 7 (old texture from other previous model)

Insanity - Ive heard wings is good, but ive never used it. I suggest learning and using edgeloops.This is a good tut for making a face.http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21066 It is meant for blender, but im sure it can be used with other programs.

Im making mine vertex by vertex and its coming out very nicely!

Lol, some of us have jobs & families, but seriously I just started that new face (neck up) on the 5th and well thought to get the comp started with atleast something.... Heck it's not even textured yet ( that's my old pirate face texture from 3 months ago )

well thats about half of a human head... Practice going vert by vert so you learn the anatomy. Use reference images.

I think mine is coming along pretty well. I'll post a WIP when I finish the ear *gulp*. I'm not sure if wings supports vert selection but maybe im wrong. Vert by vert is definately the way to go for faces, although ive seen great results from box modelling as well.

I usually do box modelling and ive had some very nice outcomes, but if you really want control, verts are the way to go.

The lip shadign needs to be toned down and she is still rather ugly. Bunch of other stuff still left to do. But someone had to post wip so i thought i would :p
Its one thing to make a head...but as im finding out its entirely another to make it attractive lol. My dad just laughs when he looks at it

Lol its a tad scary. Looks like my mum on a bad day!

I started mine, and got REAAALLY far was up to the rendering process and all, but it *&%#$#$##ing tried to render in Yafray and blender crashed. ARG i hadnt saved, and the last time i had was when i was mucking round with Tsar Nickolas. Well, here HE is but you missed out on Anastasia and she was HOT. Now i'll haveto do her ALL OVER AGAIN!!

Looking at that face, I'd say she has way too much skin on the back of her head. Her eyes and nose should also probably be moved down, and she needs more cheekbone... And that chin is huge, to tell you the truth.

But looks good for such an early wip...

you're using Cinema 4D right, I swear at some point you said you were, if you are, I would suggest this, download the latest demo, play with all the extra kewl new tools, including the hair one just released, and take advange of the nice little things, like i am, if you use the bodypaint demo, be warned you'll have a water mark on your texture
