Also, the hair looks more like somebody just went in and used the spray-paint can in Paint to make it. =/

wow this game has only been receiving crit for the last few posts, allow me to break the trend:
Although i haven't seen much from the programming aspects of this game i have to say, the models look top notch, the textures especially look really great and then animation is nice and fluid as well.

on critisising
the dictionary on dictionary.com says
the act or art of analyzing and evaluating or judging the quality of a literary or artistic work, musical performance, art exhibit, dramatic production, etc.
but it also gave your defenition.. so it depends on how you take the meanings.. I guess

anyway, who cares.. I shouldnt be rambling
The point is that it looks a good game and can only get better if the constructive critisism is heeded, which is seems to be. Cant wait to see the new screens Junkrock!

I vote HUD too

Thats why mike has his own separate entry, this probably doesn't help him win a computer, but it puts his work into other projects, which for a CV or employer could add more.

Is this game being built upon FPSC or DBP>

So you are going to need some pretty unique model sets, a la prison guards dressed in drag. hehe Sounds like a custom job to me BTW, looks great so far. Nice music.

good animations, my only qualm with them was when he was walking, his hands looked really awkward. (the fingers were too stiff straight out) but maybe that's on your animators list of to-do.

yeah, it wasn't that far off, it would probably be as easy as curling his fingers.

junkrock,

I must admit, the more I look into these threads the projects seem to be like a favorite to me! (Well, somehow I must prevent me from making this statement at other threads, otherwise maybe all of them end up with one like this!)

As I saw the Teaser I instantly thought about "Riddick: Escape from Butcher-Bay"!

Seems to be a fighting game for respect inside prison, with very nice animations! (Besides the "walking hands" as stated in the other posts!)

Keep it up! (I realy doubt I should enter with all this promissing stuff from you and the others!)

Well, lets say I develop it secretly and if my researches go well, you might also see a WIP-thread someday here!

But really, I think this one seems to have the potential to win a prize (IF you keep up these promissing impressions)!

I didn't even know that real time shadows and lighting was reasonable in DBP, much less that you could crank some out in a couple weeks . Amazing.

It shows what can be done in 3d max. With max lighting and camera angles. Not dbp or fpsc. There nice cinematics for whats been seen around here though. Very nice. Some of those animations look familiar though. Like the exercising and karate moves. I'm not saying this isn't all your work, cause I don't know. Just seems I may have similar bip files myself. These guys don't get though that for 3dmax graphics, there ok....no where near what could be done(I'm far from being pro myself, heck I'm barely a hobbyist, but I think we both know what Max is capable of). For this game comp though this is looking great. As long as these guys don't get the wrong idea and think those are in game shots. Just sounds like most these guys aren't looking at this as a cinematic trailer done in 3dmax(Maya/whatever).

All the best luck to ya

Yeah they are bip files I used I ment it was me doing the animation of the movie, it is pre rendered in 3dsmax correct BUT the levels are fully lightmapped to the highest detail AND we have our own shadows for each model ingame.

Man this looks really good. I have to agree with what was said about the walking animations though, they look kinda awkward. I have a feeling if someone walked into prison like that they'd soon be following around one big dude, holding his hand and lighting his cigarettes for him. And you know the rest.....

yeah... I thought you had this amazing animator and stuff...

Then you really haven't done anything more in DBP? Where is this game going? All I can get is trailors and pics of the same model, or the same model with a different texture.

Any more levels being made?

Well, now that I have read that it was "only" rendered then it was nice, BUT I thought it was some kind of in-game sequence!

Anyway, IF you can complete it and it looks that way in-game then it is still something BIG!

This doesn't really seem to be going anywhere in terms of the actual game....

Media is very good though.

I think you may have bitten off more than you can chew. Maybe not, I'd love to see it finished, you just seem to keep putting out the same stuff to maintain the hype...

Any news on what's happening code-side?
