Seems like a few people are having trouble when clicking on the link to the pdf file. Would people be happier if I also created a zipped format to download? It would be about 4mb.

I would certainly provide a zippe version of this. Seeing as most people will just click the link instead of right-click and "saving as...".

For anyone using firefox get the "pdf download" add on... That way if you LEFT click a .pdf link a dialog will come up and ask if you want to download, view, view as html etc... very useful...

For the next revision, I'm thinking about changing the name to something like "FPSC Game Maker's Guidebook" or something similar, any ideas?

just to let you all know that Revision 8 of the guide will be out around Christmas, so if you have anything you want to include, nows the time!

Also, if anyone can create a nice Christmasy screenshot (from FPSC) to include on the front page, that would be most helpful.

Just to let you know what's coming in the next revision (8) of the guide.

* It's jumped from 119 pages to 175!
* 8 scripts have been added to the script bank.
* There are four scripting tutorials by PlystirE.
* The Conditions list and Actions list have now been sorted alphabetically.
* 8 brand new tutorials have been added to the Tutorials section.
* 3 more quick Tips have been added.
* 3 more quesions have been answered.

* And the title's been corrected.

It should be out around Christmas so expect more to be added.

Hurray!!! Once this comes out I can remove the link in my sig because most everyone should have your guide anyway.

Can't wait for it to come out, I've always been in need of an updated reference guide.

Hey could you add a TUT for Anim8or, because as far as i know there are alot of people who can only afford this, but don't know how to unlock it's potential.

Avenging Eagle made a great one but thats a video...
So would i be allowed,(with his permission of course) to adapt it for him, to the wonderful readers of your ever-helpful guide.

Looking forward to Revision 8!

and finally...you should make the FPSC H&T guide more like the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, that would make for interesting TUT's

"and remember, when you go scripting, don't forget your towel!!"

Coffee, what kind of tut is it (i guess it's for Anim8or)? Is it text? video? Are you wanting in game screen shots?

it'll have to be a text one.....

An adaptation of Avenging Eagles Video one, of course I'll give credit..

I just won't be able to show the finished product that's all, i can still do screenies of anim8or.

Perhaps you can take a still shot from the video of the finished product? I haven't seen it so I'm not sure.

Could anyone explain how to get multiple (random) textures on a segment? When you place a stock segment down (sci fi) it seems to pick randomly from a set of textures so all the segments don't look identical. I've searched and found it has something to do with D, N S added to the texture name.

If anyone can come up with a tutorial on how to have a random texture on a segment, I'll include it in my guide (I'd also like to know)

Erm... I think Lee would be a bit busy now to write some sort of tutorial and I'm sure one of the FPSC 'experts' will know this sort of thing.
