And now Svalbard is a part of Russia and Svalbard is actually the majority of Europe? This geography confuses the hell out of me.
But it means, I own most of Europe, so I'm not complaining, after all, Svalbard is only the archipelago north of Norway, so it's just full of snow and polar bears, so it's not much of a loss. With what part of Europe I own, I've got Italy, so I've got the Vatican, dude, I have the freaking Pope, that means I get to cast Divine Intervention...or am I thinking too much in RPG terms here?
Name: Svalbard
History: In the time people lived peacefully north of Norway, working as conservationists of the several national that take up the vast majority of the archipelago. One man, Svengor, decided, like everybody else, with the warring efforts of the world and how they only have a small portion of the world's land, he thought it was time for a revolution. And what a revolution it was, they didn't want to mess with the Norwegians, because the Svalbardians themselves are Norwegian. So they took on Denmark first, which was easy because the Danish army couldn't understand orders because of the complexity of the Danish language. With that, they taught the Danish to speak a superior language, Norwegian, and now the Danish seem like a lovely peaceful lot, but they brought us the Vikings, war is in their genes, not even the Italians had the time to amass a Roman-like army in response. They were seemingly indestructible. However, neighbouring nations like Britain and Russia are also beasts - lets not forget that Britain owned a great portion of the world's land mass and the Russians...who are just brutal.
Madagascar on the other hand appears to pose little threat to Svalbard and it's the perfect place for a military campaign. Currently the Svalbardian armed forces consist of 30 million and they are still recruiting. 5 million of which consist of bezerker ranks.
In terms of trade, Svalbard offers a fantastic export in bacon, thanks to Denmark. Allied nations get the bonus of receiving training in the bezerker ranks.
