You need to be trained in the Dark Arts to understand the DBPro Help files.

I exaggerate a bit.

If Lee outputs small information,
It will become a big tutorial.
-
A mistake must correct it,
A blank must fill it out.
-
It is a very good thing.

This could be something from the FPSC side of things. If it is, then what it will do is allow you to have one big texture (1024 x 1024), but a Div Tex Size of 2 will load it into your program as 25% of the size (512x512). Thus, you can supply one texture and use some jiggery pokery to reduce the quality of your game for lower-specced PCs.

Again, just guessing. A jpg can be compressed by providing a percentage quality of the original, so maybe it allows you to do this.

Hi Guys,

U70 seems pretty solid now, just some minor functional differences with earlier updates and some missing texts in the help. I will proceed on these minor issues with U71, and make the current BETA9 the official release for U70. Fear not, this does not mark a long delay between U70 and U71, we just need to finish off U70 for the forthcoming DGS product and also provide a dividing line between the current DBP and the version which includes the suggestions from the TGC CON 2008. The official update should be released soon, and watch this space for a new U71 BETA thread.

Best Regards,
Lee

U7.1 is not a fundamental update, just a continuation of U70 with some ideas from the convention, that's all

@BatVink
Thank you for big explanation.
Support of a small PC is great.
Users of eeePC will increase in future.

I like a newsletter of BatVink.
I like in particular "DarkBASIC Professional Tutorial - Building a Platform Game".
I look forward to next.

The article of "Enhancing DarkBASIC Professional with FPS Creator by Steve Vink" was good.
Will you write an article making the plural rooms where it used portal for?

I haven't seen Diggsey's thread but I think there are some updates that make debugging easier - if you are making your own tool.

That one is written by Van B, there will be another installment in the next issue.

Thank you. I don't write tutorials any more, the newlsetter takes up enough of my time. But if anyone has the skills to do something great, and also has the skills to turn it into a tutorial (the difficult bit), then I'm happy to give them a space to show off their talents in the newlsetter.
