Nice work. For the next 13 days, (till day 85) if you make two models a day or something along the lines, then you'll be caught up. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't most of the time on making the model come from the UV Mapping?

Sure as hell does for me, i have made a sci-fi pistol. Around an hour to model, around 4 to uv map.

Uv mapping isn't too bad. Modeling is the easiest. I think rigging and animation is the hardest. If the object doesn't have that, then UV mapping will come next.

I find it funny, people complaining about Josh not posting new models, it doesn't say "100 Models in 100 consecutive days."

Er, I'm still behind schedule, but that's okaly dokaly.

I've been trying to finish up GRID and another modeling project that I plan on selling. Also got a paid job which I'm working on...dang I'm a busy,er...person.

Wasn't able to get a model finished, but it's half finished. Here's a screen of the next retro model:

If your wondering why he's blown apart, it's because I'm preparing him to be unwrapped.

Wife had surgery, so she's bed ridden for 6 weeks(doctor said she can't do anything or she could hemorrhage). I have three kids, and I have my full time job...so I haven't had time to do anything...though I try to visit the forum for a few minutes every other day.

I'll be getting back to work on the models as soon as possible. As I said before, I'm finishing the project, even if it takes more then 100 days.

No problem guys. Here's what I started on this morning. It's a bunch of models for a Mini-Tank game. I plan on releasing it as a huge pack. It'll contain the tank, 3 turrets, 3 specials(each tank part will have 4 color schemes for multiple players), 3 types of bullets, ammo box, armor box, terrain pieces, walls, 3 powerups, several SFX images(+alpha) and GUI elements(ammo/armor/score).

Partway there. Will have more time to work on this later today when the kids are napping.

My wife just had a baby a couple weeks ago, and because of complications, is bed-ridden as well! It's my first kid, and from what I have experienced so far... kudos to watching after three of them by yourself and still pumping out a cool tank!!! Neat design as always, and best of wishes to your wife getting better!

There's something in this room that makes you can't speak well.

Nice job! You're pretty talented at making cartoon-like models, and realistic ones (but more talented in cartoon-like models).

I like realistic graphics in games, but not as much as stylized art in games. One of the reasons I've yet to buy a 360 or PS3, I don't think next gen graphics make a game any better then others.

You guys don't have to convince me. I've seen many cartoonish games that have gotten perfect ratinge before. I think a while ago there was a commercial for a game called "Sly 3" that got a 5 out of 5 star rating by several game magazines.

hehe, you just named 2 games that are in my top ten.

agreed! I've seen cartoon style games that have received high marks in the graphics department in magz. It's all about presentation and style.

Not to mention gameplay. If the gameplay is original, as in there are several things you can do, and preferably open world, where you can climb atop buildings and jump off them, then any game would be fun (at least to me). This applies for both Sly 3, and Assassin's Creed (about to be Assassin's Creed 2 in November).

I've come to a conclusion, after much deliberation, to end this project atm so I can finish up my game project. This is due to time constraints because of life endeavors. I plan on picking this back up once I knock out a few projects I have in the works. If all goes well there will be money involved as well.

So to end this right, I'll upload all the unfinished models from this thread for everyone to use. Most of them are already UV mapped, they just need to be textured. Some of them are old models that I have edited as well. So use to whatever fits your needs.

Thanks to everyone who stayed with this thread, and I hope some of these models make their way to others projects.

So that brings the figures to:

74 Models / 94 Days

Great run Josh, I for one know you'll eventually get the 100 models done. And it was also pointed out it was never said 100 models in 100 'consecutive' days. Also, if you go by my count you actually surpassed the 100 models in 100 days.. after all what is a model without a UV map, and when we count models +UV maps you are way past the 100 mark.

Great job, Cheers Mate.
