Hey nice project going on, i would like to contribute some of my time to this project. I could help with the programming, and of course i have DBP. EDIT: maybe i could help with the collisions and the sound programming, for thesound when someone is walking, shooting, etc. EDIT once again: what is the current rate of this project? Any shaders? What Physics engine? and hmmm the gun looks great so far, maybe we/you guys should use shaders to make it shiny like a real gun. Also i may get the dark game studio package in like hmm... a month or so, so that might help.

of course you can join!
we really need people to help, not that much has gotten done, and even I am very busy with school. If you can program, you can help.
i would prefer if you could help with another region of the project, such as the level editor which i am struggling on.
physics and player movement will be in Monk's module, hopefully programmed by him.
For physics we are using newton.

EDIT: also, one of the reasons we have not gotten anywhere yet is that i am waiting for kaedroho to finish the next version of blitzterrain.

Let's point everyone to DevStorm for discussion, it seems like it will be a lot better to use our forum there to keep everything organized and either leave this thread alone or just use it to post general progress.

By the way, thenerd, I'm sure there is something you can work on that doesn't require Blitzterrain. When were we going to have that "meeting" to set some programming guidelines?

hmm alright, ill look into the sound programming,so far how is the game going? any levels so far created yet? Hmm also who is the lead programmer here? Hold on could you add me to the list? Put me as hmm... various coding as well, i will definetly be able to help out in tihgt situations and i can code the sound, such as walking. new to 3d programming so...lol but i can still help out lots, and hmmm.... is this blitz terrain the thing for the land? Hey and does anyone have spare money to buy Dark clouds? That plugin could come in handy for the game, if it is located outside.

that was a joke, right?

we are not even close to making levels (sadly) , we need to finish the engine first.

right now I guess I am the lead programmer, although I will likely have to hand that over to someone who isn't so busy.

Quote: "When were we going to have that "meeting" to set some programming guidelines?"

I think we could do it next weekend. If we can, I will start a few threads in Devstorm to record stuff and then in the Programming area I will start one called "OpenFPS Programmer Chat".

yes, BMac, there are some things i can do that don't involve BT, but I am really short on time at the moment. Hopefully tomorrow I am going to whip up a menu.

ok, so the names we thought of so far are:

1. Biostorm: Global Crisis
2. Operation: Biostorm
3. Project Biostorm: Hotwire Fission
4. Project Hotwire: Biostorm Fission
5. Project Hotwire: Nuclear Fission

I still think we need something else, none of them quite fit...

Looks awesome but change the font of the main menu text and dont have it underlined. Also, put it into normal Caps.
Otherwise, awesome.

wow nice loading screen and main menu. when it becomes done i guess maybe all we need is a sample "sphere and cube world" to test out the menu. When you press play, make sure to put the loading screen in too and don't forget to add me to the list also

that is the name.

and beely, soory to say, but you ALWAYS get the storyline and other design aspects done first, or you end up with a game centered around the tech.
