I love the visual designer. Well done

In the update screen it asks for a userid and key - I was only sent an Initcode - is there something I have to do to obtain the userid / key?

@RobK
I have tried to logon to the updates section of the updates page witht the userID and Key that you sent me with the beta version of the plugin and it is not working. I can't access the update section of the page.

The userID and the Key you sent me are not the same as the BLue v1.4.5's.

[edit] Took another look at your site and have noticed the bug reports system has been shut down, and we need passwords to access the documentation when we click the links in the documentation section.[/edit]

[edit] sent you an email requesting codes for the plugin[/edit]

@1tg46,
I am guessing that it is because that the beta is over and the full version is now instated. Hence new codes.
It's standard practice for this kind of thing, and totally expected.

Hey Dave, I think you can by using images and the gadget that uses DBPro images. Just copy the views onto each image, by using get image, or set camera to image, or something.

$20 US Dollars, if it were pounds the symbol would be £

This equates to about £12.

I've had lots of emails from existing users, its half eleven here and I'm off to sleep now - I'll do my best to deal with your registration details tommorrow evening.

Yawn!

Have sent an email with my init code for v1 BGUI but not sure about the registration thing - although the email will give the email address used for purchasing the original etc etc... let me know (by replying to the email) is anything else required.

Good stuff, Rob. The designer could be damn useful. Although I was quite happy calculating and placing stuff manually, it will be a great time saver, and also save me around 100 variable declarations!

Edit: Is it compatible wth V1? Or will I need a rewrite?

Rewrite I'm afraid. v1's syntax was a little long winded. I decided that I would rather write 1 line of code with a new syntax than 3 lines with the old setup.

@BatVink : To prevent from migration problems, I don't use directly BlueGUI commands inside my programs.
I've made a .DBA include file with functions that directly use the BlueGUI commands, so I have only to change to functions content and my entire program will be updated to v2

@Rob,
I've lost all my registration ID's ( due to an HD crash ) and sended you a mail to ask you if you can resend my Id's ... I hope you'll received it

Although it's d/loaded, it'll probably have to wait until after the compo

If you've spent all of your time on this, does it mean you won't be in the compo, Rob?

I shall be monitoring this thread very closely in future for further death threats.

It seems like anyone who has the web address for the bug reports section of your page can enter the bug reports without loggin in. Does this need to be fixed or should I have not of mentioned it?

My mistake. It doesn't matter too much really, but the necessary check is only one line of code so I'll add it later. The link that matters (the GUI 2 download) should not work unless you have logged into the website in the current session.

I'm not quite sure, but it appears that Blue GUI 2 has a problem with Advanced Terrain. Any AT function called gets an "Invalid Function Pointer" error at runtime. Seems that the two are conflicting?

Or its just me???

The most funny and interesting thing ( for big project that actually uses BlueGUI v1 ) is that BlueGUI v1 and v2 can be used in // in the same program . It help me migrate X-Quad Editor From BlueGUI v1 to v2

It now look more professional

Thanks Rob.k for your wonderful plugin

But, I noticed a strange things ... Constant don't work in my X-Quad Editor Project.
If I create a new project and use BlueGUI v2 , all work ( and I can use Constant ), but in X-Quad Editor ( 32 include file ) they don't work, I am obliged to enter directly their values inside BlueGUI v2 commands ... Do you think it's a DBPro bug ??? ( I've tried with both default DBPro's IDE and BlueIDE )

Probably. An alternative option is to replace the #constant statements with globals instead.

eg:

defineBlue2:

global MOUSE_CLICK=0x202

return

At the top of your program call the defineBlue2 subroutine to fill in the values of the global. Note that you can't use functions here.

Rob: Thanx for having emailed me my IDcode . I just have a little question (sorry if it had been asked before.):
Is there a way to make tool windows in the Rainbow editor or have I to edit it manually inside DBP?

Hi,

I'm not sure if this was asked. I breezed through the post. And I did look on the website, and I didn't confirm my question. Which is:

Can I creat Masked interfaces with Blue 2? I have not seen any examples, but that's something I think would be a good addition to the coolness that is Blue

By masked I me for example, the winamp or windows media player windows. How they have different shapes and skins that can be applied to make the windows differnt shapes colors and sizes with images other than just the boring windows look. And be able to toggle between a skin and a regular window.

So yes, No?

If no, it would be cool to have in one of the new versions
Am I alone in thinking it would be a welcome edition if not already in there

Cheers

At the moment it has to be manually edited.

You can have non-rectangular shaped windows by using the setGadgetShape command with a black and white bitmap representing the shape of the window. Blue v2 does not support themed gadgets though (other than Windows XP look and feel under XP)

Excellent!

It generates the shape by itself - So no work beyond giving the bitmap. This is awesome.

Just one more Q. So this getGadgetShape extends to all windows meaning buttons and other windows controls that inherit from windows?
