Hi All,
As some of you may know, F l a t l a n d e r has handed over support of RPGmod to me.
So this thread will be the location of all future updates of the free version of RPGmod.
As a polite request please don't start additional RPGmod threads on the forum as they are likely to be locked, similar to all other non-official mod related threads.

[2012.10.01] - new RPGmod version, Light A.I., 3rd Person support (r694)

FEATURES
An
Inventory System tracking the items collected by the player. Items can be categorized in up to 7 categories (such as health packs, weapons, money, food, etc.) and associated currency mechanics.
Item Trading such that items within the inventory can be bought, sold and swaped.
A
Clues System so the player can obtain text hints to solve puzzles.
A
Quest System enabling the player to take on missions across single or multiple levels, that can be timed or otherwise and the player’s success can be logged.
An
Objective System that tasks the player with collecting or destroying objects, etc.
A
Quizz System that enables multiple-choice and text input tests to be posed to the player.
A
Documentation System that enables the game to display information stored within text files as well as file read-write script commands, including encryption.
A
Rank and XP system that enables the player to progress through up to 24 sequential ranks.
A
Hunger and Dehydration system that forces the player to eat and drink items.
Increased
player-character conversation interaction commands.
Increased entity text display and
question-answer commands.
A
Generic Selection System enabling the player to select an option from a number of choices.
Larger Global Variable set and associated commands, including easy display-to-screen command for debugging.
Additional entity script commands:
Item’s picked-up status,
Customisible “If Used” and “Use Key” parameters,
Switchable immobility,
Switchable gravity.
Additional targeting commands
Additional HUD commands:
Customise “fade-out” direction,
Horizontal scrolling compass,
Change hud position on screen,
Alternative Radar HUD with switchable ‘blips’,
XP & Health reserve display.
HUD text colouring
Saveable Levels so that environments do not reset when revisited by the player.
Additional Player properties and script commands:
Health-reserve mechanic,
Max health and lives modification,
Flashlight,
Jump-flight mechanic,
Alternative armour mechanics,
Weapon repair status.
Additional
XBox controller definition such that player actions can be mapped to individual controller buttons. The controller button status can also be tested within scripts.
Light A.I. providing a small set of expanded A.I. control for non-D.A.I. characters.
Third Person Camera controls.
EXAMPLE
Flatlander's game
"The Fantastic Adventures of Doctor Jeremiah James and Bob Corvine" is a great example of some of the features within RPGmod. Although technically it uses the Edu version of the mod, it is still a great example of what can be achieved with RPGmod. Check it out

NOTE: To use each version you MUST first run the official installer (v118, v119 or v120) to ensure that the correct assets are avaiable.

You may need
msvcr71.dll in order to run Encrpt_Setup_Files.exe needed as part of RPGmod installation - if you do not have this DLL present on your machine you can get the DLL from here:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr71 although the DLL can be obtained from a number of other sites.
