To say I made it would be misleading - I believe "threw it together" comes into play here .

I'll get you up there, it automatically throws out anyone who hasn't posted since 5000.

@Omega
There's also a possibility that it's just a screenshot.

@BMacZero
That's pretty cool. Willing to share some source code? I'm interested to see how that's been done. I was thinking about doing something like that when I started, but didn't get too into the idea of the research phase of it.

I did a few pages ago, but I've updated it since then, so:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ylymyjgdymw

The only major improvement I want to make is to have it download the info it needs automatically from the web - nobody seems to be able to make the HTTP commands work, so you have to save the pages to your computer to do it. Still saves masses of work, though .

Here's a post in code form.

Now, the way I'd achieve this is to find any <td> with class "BoardPost", then get the contents of the next bold text and assume it's a name.

@NeX and Aaron

That's almost exactly what it does - it searches for that <td width="166"..."top"> line. When it finds one, it grabs the name out of the next line and goes from there.

I might try and make an implementation in Javascript, reading the board pages from an iFrame.

It doesn't work, JavaScript can't access content from another domain. Does it ask the user if they wish to allow this? No, that would take a degree of SENSE.

I don't want to kick my computer, I might get my sock caught in one of the moving parts.

Yes, that is my computer, running. My camera's exposure is so short it catches the fan as though the system is off. If I don't leave the side off, the whole thing overheats and shuts off in ~10 minutes. The CD drive on top is there because its USB hub is the only way I can get a decent mouse signal.

Just like mine. We should introduce them to eachother, things might spark off. Mine is black though, is your computer racist? Mine sure is, it hates every colour. Even linen, which isn't actually a colour.

Your mother is so overweight, that she has to pay for 2 tickets each time she has to utilize transport such as train, aircraft or bus. This applies to entertainment as well, such as sport-arenas and other various events where seats are a necessity. No doubt this fact will cause great embarrasement for you, hence the reason for why I am stating it in my goal of goading you into a state of anger and embarrassment which in turn pleases me in ways best left unsaid.

I got carried away... I started to write an HTML parser that'd organize an entire HTML document by it's fields and attributes, so that it'd be easy to find those TD statements and find their class, regardless of how the HTML file looks internally... Unfortunately I forgot about the <script> statements.... Although it is entirely possible that my HTML parser will ignore them (Which actually seems likely because it ignores whatever is within comments)..... Actually, I might have to go back and see. Anyways, working on an HTML parser.

Also, I rewrote it in C++. I'm using structures, not classes, but some structures are object oriented. There's no true difference between a structure and a class, they're both types.

Might be done tonight. Will upload Monday.

Cheers,
-naota
