If you're talking about places like CGTalk/CGSociety, then yes, they either comment on stuff that they can easily critique or the pro stuff or at least so I found (only few of my threads got comments). I did join a private community based only around a group of friends who had met on various other forums, though I got some great advice on there, it has gotten quiet. The 3D World Magazine forums used to be quite lively, but last time I checked they were pretty dead, but it's always worth looking it up, back when I was posting on there people were friendly and quite helpful, that's where I went as a beginners, so I got away with dishing out crap work, but getting encouraging, yet helpful comments, but I also got them here, right in 3D chat.

Well, this sucks. My router's AC adapter decided to die sometime last night, so now I have to use my parents' computer until they get around to ordering another one, which of course cannot be found in any local store.

If you can find a similar power supply with the same voltage, the same ampage or more and the same output type (i.e. AC or DC) it should work. Try your speakers; my BT router is still running on a Creative PSU a year on.

Don't worry about that, I hear it cannot count correctly.

I think it has dislexia.
