Hi Digital Awakening. I just realised that I have been following this thread for years, but I don't think I've ever actually posted anything. Anyhow I just wanted to say that I keep returning to this thread as a source of inspiration. I'm very impressed by the quality of game you seem to be developing, and even more impressed by your persistence over all these years. I sincerely hope the launch goes well and you gain the success you deserve from this. And of course, I look forward to giving it a try!

Thanks greenlig

Haven't been able to touch the game for 2-3 weeks though. So much other stuff to deal with. But I hope to get a few hours in this weekend (and more in the coming weeks). The final boss needs some tweaking. Going to make some minor changes to the map. And I'm also going to play it through to make sure everything works. I am trying to get a playtest event going. Maybe get some local press to write about it. Some other things before the game is complete is multiple savefiles and boss animations.

Oh what a horrible bug! I have noticed that my savefiles don't always load and that means that all your progress is lost. I don't even know where to start fixing this. And all I wanted to do was play it through and get everything ready for playtests.

And now I can't seem to replicate it. So I don't know if I did something weird in code to delete my save file while I was fixing something else. I'll keep reloading my game while playing it through and we'll see. Man does it take a lot of time and effort to playtest the entire game.

And it keeps happening. But I don't know why. Seems like once every day it just doesn't feel like loading properly. And I don't know if it got something to do with me doing a cheat that screws up the save file. But then I shouldn't be able to reload the file (from backup) and keep playing.

Isn't is possible to compare 2 save files which have the same game progress, one of them working and the other one not?

Probably yes. The game's autosave feature do overwrite it though.

However, I should be able to detect when the load doesn't work and prevent the save.

That's probably an easier idea than making a log file. Thanks

Ever since I added a line of code to have the game exit before trying to save an empty file, I haven't had any problems with loading my saves...

And now I found out that if you buy things in the wrong order you will not have enough gold to get all items. Have to fix that.

Feels good to be scratching things off my to-do list again. There's been so many other things to do. Project fatigue is also really high right now. Got me some old school motivators, a 6-pack of Coke. Not much left to do but I also need to prepare for a convention and Steam Greenligh as well as update my website. Maybe set up Cafepress shop as well.

Going to Nordsken again this year. Went last year and people loved the game. This year Arctic Game Lab has a proper booth and will be sharing it with 2 other games. So I'll have 2 or 3 demo stations there. I intend to promote my Greenlight campaign there.

Only 5 things left on my todo list! Most of them are not needed for the convention. I'm thinking about printing flyers for the convention, as well as t-shirts with my logo. Need to get those sorted out soon.

Thanks

Was just at a meeting where we talked about the convention. I (and 2 other projects) get 3 demo towers, made from wood with a custom print. They will each house a PC with headphones, controllers and 27" screens.

It's going to be awesome

Just put in an order for 5000 flyers in A6 format. Super cheap with prints on both sides. These will be great to give away at the convention and spread wherever I can.

I am a little bit worried that I won't get them in time. I'll be leaving in 14 days so there should be enough time.

Was at a Steam marketing workshop today. Also got measurements for the demo towers we will be using at the convention. We get to design our own full color print for them. And since I don't need a lot of computer power I will get 3 brand new Shield units to demo on. They will use the towers for other events in the future as well, like game jams.

We were also told that they had miscalculated our space to 6x3 m but it's actually 9x3 m. So we will have 6x3 booth space just for the 3 games that will be demoed, each get 3 towers. Next to us will be a standing table, a TV showing trailers and a HoloLens.

BTW, opposite our booth there will be a life size Jabba the Hut statue. And we are not far from Nintendo's Switch booth. A lot of people will likely walk by us to or from them

Thanks for your support NGP

Finished my demo tower design today. Didn't have to make it final, they just wanted to test printing something. But I thought I would get better feedback if I made it as close to final as I could. And since it's more or less complete I can focus on other things instead.

From what I understand if Greenlight, views, comments and followers also count towards getting through.

So if you don't mind, please leave a comment and follow the game

I can really need all the help I can get since the game's art doesn't really help selling it.
