Can I nominate myself? I am the Eastern timezone of the United States, and I am usually on these forums every day for about an hour or two browsing the forums, and I am on the forums at lots of different times of day including morning noon and night.(sometimes on the weekends I am here for over 5 hours, throughout the day). but the forum users get to choose . If not me I would choose cattlerustler and exeat.

1tg46 wants to be paid, dont pick him (just kidding)

I will be a mod free of charge, and I'm on these forums from at least 4PM EST til around 9 PM (on and off, I switch sites, do coding, eat, and do homework, but I browse a lot).

Come to #coding. We promise we wont kick you!

I don't want to be paid. It will just be another excuse I can give my parents to get more internet time. j/k

But seriously, I think it will be a great way to get more involved in the DarkBasic community.

I wonder if mods have to have a certain reputation? I mean would they let in somebody who's only been around a few months, compared to a year+?

You have to have been a member longer than 1 year. I'm adding this criteria, but I might up that amount. Usually, they are the most trustworthy of the forum members.

No offence but I don't think Jimmy has the maturity. I know I'm just going to get a smart retort for it, but he isn't exactly mature some of the time

The most I ever saw Jimmy being mature was on his thread about the new DBSpot... Even then, though, do you really want a offical hizzlepants member to be a mod?

Jimmy's a great guy and he's helped the community out a vast amount with DBSpot. His sense of humor is rather misunderstood, that's all. He's got my vote as well .

TBH, Jimmy isn't just strange, weird, and randomly messed up, he is also... um... a good... guy...?

But seriously, Jimmy would be a good Mod, he always seems to be involved in the discussions, and even when he IS having a go at someone, it's always good natured, and usually just a show.

Jimmy would make a nice Mod, and I can see him always adding some funny comment when he locks a thread, or blocks a user

Anyway, The current new mod's that Rich has chosen seem to be good, but I'd have to go against your comment about Walaber there Rich.

Yes, he is a great programmer, but his talents aren't limited to his Physics wrapper. He is also browsing the General forum ( from what I can tell at least ) and I see him in the WIP area and the Announcements area too, so I vote for him again

Jess.

Ok here is my final choice for new forum mods, thanks for your comments and votes everyone.

David T
Mouse
Jeku
CattleRustler
MikeS
Exeat
Van B

Can each of you drop me an email please with your choice of password (it can be the same as your current password if you want). Because when I upgrade your account I need to reset your password at the same time (uses a different private key to encrypt it).

Once that is done you'll see the mod controls in the forum when you next login to it and will have "Moderator" status appear under your name. I would like to stress to all new mods that this status doesn't mean you have to act any "differently" really, I'm not expecting you to now provide code for newbies, or help old ladies across the road, or anything - it's just an ability to help keep this place clean and friendly for everyone. You don't need to step in and sort out "flame wars" or anything, just keep an eye on these here lands. Oh and of course if bubble-small-dick or his poo shaped mates turn up again, feel free to stomp all over them.

Cheers,

Rich

Emailed. I like to think I do those things anyway, especially helping old lady's across the street, that gives me a sense of pride I've never felt before. In any case, if the spammer turns up again we should be able to crush him as swiftly and as fast as ever.

Oh, and thanks to everyone who trusted me enough to vote for me! I swear I won't randomly ban you all for looking at me funny...

Yeah yeah, you and mouse have some differences you have to settle, but you can do it outside of the forums. But, why should you care anyway? You barely post, so the chances of something that could get you banned flying out of your mouth anytime soon are slim to none.

Whilst I personally like Jimmy, and this is not meant as any disrespect to him, I am surprised anyone could realistically think he'd be an appropriate person to be a mod. His comments are usually very acidic. It'd be bound to create a million "abuse of authority" threads.

i have settled my problems with mouse, a newish pm from mouse shows he still hates me.

i choose to only to post on a forum, when it's in my best interest.

i'm just raising some caution over mouse. he can hold a grudge over something small.

i'm not applying for a mod position here, i'm just raising alarm over someone. that's all
