Ok so go with renders this time then. You keep saying that you have already made the 3D models.... You need 3D models to do 2D renders, so you have no real excuse not to use plains, or sprites. The speed difference will be phenomenal.

@Pincho Paxton
I can't really use plains because like the models are more circular than flat design otherwise i would nice idea tho

@Snowfall studios
Glad you got high fps i intend to keep it as high as i can then cap it at the end #
@Seppuku

Hi Again,

I tried to make a username and logon to your community page on
http://www.whiteknucklegame.com/ but when I tried to login, it took
me to this page :

http://www.whiteknucklegame.com/site/checklogin.php

And gave me this error message :

"Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/white/public_html/site/checklogin.php on line 18
Wrong Username or Password"

I just thought I should let you know.

Wow, impressive, makes me feel like im ripping you off with my current work on a themepark game, but i guess we both can agree its a fun genre. I am sorry however for your having to rewrite the game. I had a similiar problem way back with my game Mayor. Just make sure you backup those files constantly!

If you're so smart, why are you reading my post?

Nice to see that your still going ahead with the project, I'll
be sure to check out your demo when you release it.

I saw the video on your site of the path finding, looks like your
making progress .

I think you are confused about what a 2D render is. The original rollercoaster tycoon was 2D rendered. The graphics are not flat, they are 3D looking. Plains are flat polygons, but with a 3D render on them they look 3D. Anyway it's up to you. I am only saying that the game will be very slow using 3D models, especially those 3D models that you are trying to use. Those same models can be rendered to plains, then they are just 2 polys.

If you go for a cartoony look like in theme park world, you can pull off some reeally awesome low poly models, and I suggest you use sprites for the people, like they did in theme park world again. That will cut way down the number of polys you'll need to show on screen.

Also, I can't remember if you mentioned it anywhere, but how much micro management will you have? Will it be pretty simple like in theme park world so you can spend more time doing the fun stuff? Or will you go with the much more complex micro management of the rct games that gives you nearly full control of the entire theme park? I don't think I need to tell you which one is easier to code if that's what's improtant to you.

I like the water effect, very nice for there being no shader. Could you show some rides being loading into the editor or being built in it in your next pic?

Well i'm gonna add the rides in again now so a new pic soon and i have 3 weeks off school as well Thanks for the tip on the people

I might as well add full control like in rct just need to make the little people for the park and that i'll add a demo soon

Edit:
Aghh added to many smilies

mind if i add you to my msn

The water looks nice Sunrise, however we could do with some more stuff of game play, game play is what we are looking for, to be honest I would try to keep focus on that, for the reason this thread has more pages than my own and shows little progress

39 fps with nothing but a matrix??? Are you having hills etc? You don't need the matrix without hills etc.. Just a plain, or a box, or a box with no back on it.

What are the other images made from, like the toolbox, and the sky? Are they models? Anyway, I think that DB Pro is running slow at the moment due to the update not being finished yet.
