I just like doing custom stuff, I enjoy it. I may end up some (or all) of it for a full game, you never know.

The main reason I entered this competition is because of the challenge. The theme is something I would never choose myself for a game, but I like the challenge.

I'm curious to see what people come with, it's quite something to make a puzzle game with FPSC and while thinking about how to take it on, I came up with something really interesting. Put a horror enviroment around it and the result is even more interesting. Since the theme is a real challenge, I'm really looking forward to what others have come up with.

In about 2 weeks we'll know.

I just hope Bond1 is back before the end of the month so I can get the zombie biped off him, for my loony character.

Ive still got lots to add to my level, Ive started off with some simple puzzels to get further into the game. I may make a physics puzzel, to make it fun.

Keith, when can we get the information on uploading our games?

I'm trying to get it from the Old Man; but I suspect it will be the same FTP info as last time.

You can PM me at OG and I will send you the FTP information with your password, same as last time. That seemed to work pretty well...

Hello all,

I would like to thank everyone who answered that various questions I had asked, for taking their time to do so. I will be unable to complete my entry in time for the end of the competition, although my entire intention by wanting to enter the competition was to learn more about FPSC. Even though I will be unable to finish my entry, I have learned a great deal about FPSC, scripting, and getting lightwave models and animations into FPSC properly.

It has been a pleasure to work on an entry for this competition. It is nice to know that there are plenty of helpful people on the forums, and its been nice to, kind of, meet some of you. I wish everyone good luck with their entries, and I look forward to seeing the entries to this competition and seeing what everyone did to meet the criteria of this competition.

In a few days, I will figure out which of the models I've made for my entry are worth releasing, and then I'll fix up the UVMap's for them and release them to everyone.

Good luck everyone who is entering!

Sorry to hear that, Damon. I hope you'd consider loading up what you have done so far with your level, just out of curiosity. I'll be following in your footsteps with getting Lightwave models into FPSC pretty soon.

Looks like Ill have to leave the characters out of my level, which is, pretty crap, due to fpsc being ultra crap on fps.

Its a good puzzel game non the less.

...Sadly, I will not be able to enter my level into this contest, because I am too lazy to finish it...*sob*

I used to have one of those signs, but then realized how annoying it was...

Ive got to, urm, make a whole new level in 3 days, because fpsc and the model packs keep screwing up my level, giving it 1fps.

3 days to go...and I am faaar from completion.

I spent over 2 weeks just learning to use Milkshape + Lithunwrap and creating my main model

Now, I know a lot about modelling and stuff, infact I am pretty confident about modelling just about anything. UV mapping...lets just say, I think Lithunwrap is too simple for complicated stuff.
And yes, I have explored the FPS Creator to the depths

But I think I was succesfull in what I set out to do in the first place - 'learn'.
Now I may or may not put up my entry for the competition (depends on how much I can achieve in the next 2 days lol), but whether I do or do not, all my stuff will be put up here for free use by everyone.

thank you for this great opportunity!

To all the Judges. I've sent out the criteria list to each of your PM boxes at the Ozark Games site (I sent Uman's to your e-mail).

Just one question Fred,

Quote: "- the Deadline is October 1st (2006). Any entries recieved after 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time (23:59 for the rest of the world) on October 1st, will NOT be considered for this contest..."

This means I can use the whole day of October 1st as well, right?
Cause I was assuming my entry would have to reach a minute before the month changes (since its a Sept contest ).
But if what the above statement means is true, I can send it a day later and still make it huh?

thanks in anticipation of clarification!

I should be done (hopefully) by tomorrow

So one more question Keith - Do I just upload my game folder there? Or do I zip the folder and then upload?
Do I need to password it or something?

Just asking you know...it's my first time

thanks again,

filya

@Filya; Zip it up to make the file as small as possible. Then go to the Ozark Games forums and PM JOOM (Just One Old Man) for instructions on uploading.

@Everyone. As long as you PM JOOM before the due date, you are good (as he has been pretty busy lately, and can only check about once per day).

Once you upload your game, and it has a link; JOOM will send me the link, I in turn, will hand them to the judges. They got their first two levels yesterday.

Hi Keith,
I have uploaded the game... actually twice first time it got corrupted so had to do it again. I am working with Joom on this. Still waiting to hear if my 2nd attempt was successful or not.

I had few questions. Are you going to let us know how many contestants were there and who were they?

Are you going to give us a link of all the levels submitted or only top 3 winners like last time?

Thats all for now It has been an amazing experience for this whole month and got to know a lot about FPSC...

Hope my level gets submitted and I get to participate

Waiting excitingly for the results.

We've received levels from the following people:

-Benjamin

-Divian

-Zaibatsu

-Higgins

-Prince

-Opposing Force

All of them are uploaded, and the links are being sent to the judges for download.

@Prince. All levels were put up for download from the last contest (see the sticky in Showcase), not just the top 3. Glad you had a good experience, that's what it's all about.

I think it would be cheating to enter a level which has been worked on before the contest theme has been set.

Why? They'd have to modify it to fit the theme anyways. No fixed time for results, though we don;t want as lengthy a period as last time.
