I have a question. It says to have custum media, whitch means to try not to use stock media. does it count as custun media if re re-texture stock media, but do not apply new models? Does it count as much?

I had a comment Keith, why don't you have E.C.S. Pro listed in the prizes?

BULLSHOCK2 said that he would donate it as a prize didn't he?

You can use Custom or stock media; but if someone goes to the trouble of making some good custom work (even re-textures), then they may get a few more points. Custom work is only 5 points out of the total number possible; you can make up for it in other areas (such as level design, entity placement, frame-rate, etc.).

Ok Tim; I only put up what people are going to offer in this thread (or by PM/E-mail to me), as we are still looking for prize donors from the last competition to give their respective prizes. I definately won't be putting up the $50 Rich usually pledges, because no one can seem to get ahold of him and because that's quite a donation to take for granted.

I just finished my level. I am a little early, but I have to finish my own game before Christmas, and time is running short.

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to say, or if you're talking to Fred. The rules about custom media and using someone else's work is in the first post:

Quote: "- You may use custom media; to include entities, segments, sounds, music, and scripts, etc. Just remember that all the levels will be made public once the competition has been judged, and a decision has been made public.

- There will be NO stealing, pirating, or unauthorized borrowing of media/music/or scripts to be used in your level. If this is discovered, you will be automatically disqualified and possibly banned from the forums. If you're not sure if its OK to use someone else's material; then the best thing to do, is not use it. If you do use someone else's material, then you must have WRITTEN permission to do so (unless the permission is given in the license agreement; i.e., free for 'commercial or non-commercial'). Forging written permission will also result in punative action."

@Flashing Snail; I don't think that falls into the catagory of profanity, although I imagine most people are against visiting that particular destination.

@Butyouman; I don't remember any arguing, so it must not have been that bad.

1) Mods are allowed to join just like anybody else.

2) That's not a problem, as long as you started working on it no earlier than the start of this month's competition.

Welcome Aboard!

Yeah the prize package is pretty robust this month; although, as I said, don't look for TGC to offer any more Packs (like Model Pack 5) again. Jon's pack was a one-time thing for this month only, due to him agreeing to put it up as a prize before he was offered the deal by TGC. Of course I could be wrong, and they may want to get involved in the future, but don't count on it.

bottom line is, I am really enjoying this phase...making games, creating models, working on scripts etc. And ofcourse, in doing so, if I win a prize...great!!

But for now, I am relying on prizes to help me upgrade my game development. Like I had said earlier, I am not in a position to spend money on other things after Milkshape and FPSC (although I did buy ECS and WCS just last week)

So as long as these prizes are put up, I am going to go all out trying win them

Copious amounts of Cafeine and a regular dose sugar allowed him to go 3 weeks without sleep.

It took us nearly 28 hours of straight driving from Kuwait to Al Kut (Iraq); but we had an incentive to stay awake.

@Dark Heart: Nope it's not over with; check the first page/post for all the details.

how the hell do you make and rpg? seriously who came up with this? rpg's have player fighting stats and levels up, you can't make an rpg on fpsc unless you just want to emagine your playing one. unless anyone has any scripts?

hey can i send in a level from the game i'm making? it's kind of adventure, through a science complex that is over run with aliens
(yes i know they did that in half-life, leave me alone, lol i like the idea) but this will be different, and you get to be part of a swat team as search and rescue, it's your classic experiment gone wrong. but it's a fun consept.

Well the theme was RPG and Adventure. Sure you can send it to us (made in FPSCreator) as long as it is something you're currently working on; and it hasn't just been sitting on your hard-drive (which would constitute a bit of a head start I imagine). Just follow the submission criteria laid out in the instructions on the first page.

ok but don't expect it to be an rpg, cos you can't make real rpgs on fpsc and i stand by that. i will try my hardest to make it look like one.

You don't have to make a full blown RPG or Adventure game. The idea was to just break away from the general FPS genre and challenge people to creating something else.

I'm sure that once people have entered this competition, many aspects they've learned and put into the level they enter, will fit very well into their own games.

I hope my level won't keep you up that long (unless you enjoy it...)

I felt horrible after 25 hours so i think i'll stick to 14 awake a day.

when I had an asthma attack last year, I was up and awake (and gasping and panting!) for over 72 hours!!
And I didnt hallucinate or anything

My eyes kept closing, and I couldnt open them even if I tried hard, but I was awake all the time.
