Thanks all for the positive fedback.....

@Diablo's Bud

If you mean the models and entities and such, then since I'm on a practically non-existant budget, then 99% of it is free media available on this very forum....search around, you never know what you might find....

I'm all set to hand part 1 of the beta over to my alpha testers, just the last minor tweaks, then compiling, uploading....and testing....

The gameplay showcase will have a more simplistic level design, it's focusing on showing what I've scripted into the engine with the awesomeness that is Ply's Mod. So it won't look as good as the first, but I hope it plays well to make up for it.....

Ok, loving the screenies. I am hoping it will work in Vista but like most TGC products, that went down the toilet the second Vista was released because Vista is crap. So oh well. I want this game so badly! Trailer will do for me lol, I like it? By the way, does the HUD have to be edited into via DBPro or can I edit it in via FPSC?

It's now GideonB but I can't change it.

@Lil Gaming Man

Sorry, there won't be a trailer. The framerate is horrendous when using any screen recorder. A demo will be released soon though..... don't worry...

Here, about 3/4 way down the page. Have fun....

Ok. By the way I am loving the DX9 graphics. Also how do you edit the AI without making it go crappier because I am guessing your editing the source code through DBP and I have DBP but it won't work with Vista so I am waiting on my brother to say to my dad that I can build a pc (don't ask about how my family does computers and crap like that), and anyone who doesn't know, it's GideonB now. Says on my sig.

It's now GideonB but I can't change it.

Oh no, I'm not editing the source...too hard for me. I'm using an existing source mod called Ply's Mod. It's awesome to use for scripting.....

Lol. Anyway, a new screen of the level 2 revamp. It's the familiar waterway scene done up a bit, I turned down the water current settings to make it a bit less brutal. It looks a million times better in-game when it's all moving, but I still like it....

@maikyy

Thanks, the demo will be out as soon as I get the second level fully done, iron out any bugs in the gameplay scripts, and my alpha testers give it the go-ahead.....

I'm not giving a date, because I'll inevitably miss it.....

Sorry for the 1-day bump, but Izolis is shaping up to be a fine-looking game. Which guns are you putting the MP6 arms on, just to be curious?

And AI's back! *applause*

@AI, I thought you were leaving and never coming back? I thought you were moving on to bigger and better things? And this is the second "new" AI.

Well, I thought that as long as FPSC is laying around, I should start using it again. Not much though, because high-school starts in eight days.

@Darimc: Actually, I think this is the third or fourth "new" AI, of which only two of them were brought to wider attention, through threads of apologies and promises.. Yada yada.

@AI: Before you start asking people for assistance like you did in that other thread, maybe you should actually make something yourself first? Remember when Gunn3r offered to help you with WarFact, and just weeks later you abandoned the project and the forums? That's not my definition of good team-work, just saying.

Now, as for the game which this topic was actually meant for, it's looking great as always. Keep it up, CG.

@AI

Nice to see you back, I'm planning to make custom arms for the guns, using the ColX model as a template, since that's what the suit you wear is based on.....

Most of the guns I'm using are re-configured versions of other sci-fi guns, with different characteristics and textures as well too, (possibly, I'm not too good at texturing), so far, the inventory of guns are:

*Jon Fletchers Plasma Rifle / M12 SPP (Single-Point Plasma) Carbine,

*Tavor / Tomahawk Long Range Rifle,

*Mossberg / S2 CCA (Close-Combat Armanent),

...and a few more, althpugh I may need to hire someone to make them for me.....

@Roger Wilco

Thanks....

Another new screenie, this is of a radioactive waste pit, just run through to the other end, I'm quite happy with the ambient green:

(nevermind the darkened out gun, it isn't like that in-game, the F12 button does that when it takes a screenshot for some reason)....

The first level's already been alphaed, improved, and flagged for building. I'm starting work on the second level now. The only problem being that I have to make a special script for the second, which will be a gameplay demo as much as the first will be a level design demo....

The special script should be pretty fun if it all pans out as I hope and imagine it will.....I'll give you a clue, it involves high-speed, rolling over ramps, and starts with a V......

I've hit a slight rut with the vehicle script, which could delay the demo. So I'm making a quick 'n' dirty Team Deathmatch Multiplayer game to give you something to do while you wait....

It'll help you understand which weapons are best for which situation, it'll only use the weapons I'm gonna have in this game, that have specially calibrated recoil, range and accuracy, etc......

I hope you'll enjoy, I'll get a couple of screens up soon...

Thanks! I'm planning to use S4Mod for the Multiplayer levels. The first is 90% done, just gotta tweak the weapon positioning, and set their attributes and I'm done.....

A small introduction to the first map:

Name: Infrastructure

After the Eastern forces took the surface, they made use of the facility's supply line to move into the heart of the facility. THis is where the most heated fighting erupted in storage areas and transport routes. Western security are desperately trying to hold on to what little defensive ground they have left, while the East plans to storm through the facility and kill all within.

Screens:

The Easterner's Spawn Area:

Like the western spawn very much. My only crit would be that I think there are too many lights hanging from the ceiling. Perhaps you should use strip lighting instead?

Your right! I can't wait to see what this game is like with all new effects! I love Plys Mod like you, Fpsc was in great need of a massive fpi addon like Ply's Mod, may as well call it...

You'll see some level design/weapon design stuff in thr MP demo, but not Ply's mod stuff. As Ply hasn't integrated Lemur V2 yet....

Short update:

I attempted a multi-FPSC install on my PC, but due to the fact I don't have my stuff loaded on my C drive, (I use my I drive), FPSC ended up screwing up and all my maps got corrupted.....

It'll take a while to re-build them, as you can imagine. This'll sadly put all demos and such behind schedule for a bit.....

Trust me, I'm 10* more disappointed than any of you....

On a brighter note, Butt Monkey's been fixing up some awesome music for this game, and re-building the map allows me to integrate it better I guess. So here's to a (more) awesome version of Izolis!

Yeh, turns out that my Meshbank didn't copy over to my temp folder I made while deleting FPSC, and got deleted along with my FPSC folder, but my FPSC folder's too big for my Recycle Bin, so it just got erased permanently.......

I can still remember the general layout for the maps, so once I get down to it, rebuilding shouldn't take long, but I'll make this look tonnes better once I'm done. I'll have the MP map ready soon, it'll have some good tweaks to it....

This is actually the second time I've had to redo this game due to PC errors, ah well, pick up the pieces and move on with my life....
