Flash, I also have an 8800 GTS 320mb and if you are not planning on getting FPSC X10 right away, you can ask me how it performs after I buy it.

StOrM3, as I said earlier, just because you have DirectX 10 installed, doesn't mean it runs. And same as Doggy said.

@Slayer222: Not sure where I read it, but supposedly the GT outperformed the GTS 320 MB by quite a large margin. I'll see if I can find the site.

EDIT: Found it. Not as good with DX9 though. Clicky

Like I said earlier, I have a couple of apps, game editors, specifically made to use DX10, which work fine on it.

Thanks,

@Dan the man: Seriously? So you have 3 other graphics cards that you are not using? (And that you might want to give to me ) On topic though, it should work just great.

I know that statement sounds obvious, but it should be kept in mind.

You are comparing apples to oranges.
Yes they are both fruit, but very different flavors.

In fact, Bioshock IS NOT X10, it's DirectX 9. (see its system requirements)
So really its like comparing Apples to Steel-Wool."

I know that BioShock is a both DX9 and DX10 game
but i think it's much more better than FPS Creator X10 since it's using unreal engine 3, beside i've seen much better effects in DX9 engins, sorry TGC no hard feelings i'm just a littel angry.

What if we turn everything off, no lighting no shaders no effects no nothing, will it run on cards lower than the ones listed.

That is pretty pointless, but yes it would run better on lower cards. Don't expect 50 enemies in one room, even with all of the shaders and effects turned off.

Yep. That should run FPSC X10 with medium-high settings, depending on your processor speed.

Can I max all settings with (just want to be 100% sure):

AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core 5600+ 2.8ghz
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB
2 GB of RAM

And have it run smoothly around 60fps with maxxed settings?

Sorry to go off topic but. Jon! You live in Taunton. Do you know of Bishops Lidyard (I probably spelt that wrong, but it's near the quantocks) I have some friends that live there.

TGC, you really should be starting to support ATI much better then now, expecially after nVidia has treated us so bad after the compo and users should really boycott nVidia and switch to ATI instead.

I haven't bought a nVidia card in years, I prefer ATi any time. Good perfomance, great price. I rahter not get ripped off by nVidia's way to high prices.

Ive been told that the GeForce 8800 GT and the GeForce 8800 GTX are pretty much the SAME thing, just nearly a £100 differnce.

So why does it say:

"GeForce 8500 GT - ForceWare 163
- average performance with most effects switched off
- slow with all effects switched on (not recommended)"

Will the GeForce 8800 GT get an update to make it "100% compatible and recommended" as the GeForce 8800 GTX which is nearly £100 more?

If I buy a GeForce 8800 GTX, I may have to update my CPU..

Definatly NOT yes ATI is just as good, yes ATI is cheaper, but is FPSC X10 Designed to run on ATI cards.... NO they are not reccomended and have had several issues reported and until this is fixed they are not worth the trouble mate

Which one is meant? 256 mb or 512 mb. Would FpscX10 also have this performance problems with a 8500 GT 512 mb??

Tested FPSCreatorX10 tech demo with my laptops GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB-Ram. Other specs are specified lower and I might say that the demo was almost uncontrollable it run something around 5-10 FPS and besides I bought this notebook only 2 weeks ago. I guess FPSCreatorX10 is very poorly optimized All other games I have tried where playing on maxed out settings without a problem but X10 wont.

Conclusion:

* NVidia GeForce 8600M GT 512MB will work but only be playable with most of the settings turned off - quite useless imo.

But remember that there is a huge difference between the old tech demo and the full version. The full version is way more optimized and supports many other cards, not to forget all the new features.
