Let me explain. A 8600 GT could have 2TB and not be as good as any 8800. Graphics cards use processors also. A 8600 has (32?) processors. a 8800GT has 112 processors. A 8800GT also has a higher clock on those processors. Everyone is saying something different about why it is better, the main reason is processors. Bit-rate is how fast the card can move data. It shouldn't matter for FPSCx10, but it may matter where you are moving massive amounts of textures or data.

2TB I've heard of a hard-drive with 1TB but a Graphics card! Thats a little extreme, 2TB would be pretty dang slick. Actually 1GB would be cool as well. Meh, too bad the 8800 is out of my price range.

If you'd search, even this post, you would find your answer. Yes it will work nicely, assuming the rest of your PC parts are good.

I'm not retarded. 2TB would be wow in a graphics card or RAM. I think thats a few decades of though.

A mental institution? Anyhow here are my final specs that I hope will run FPSC X10 decently (without refraction or much bloom and maybe 10 enemies in one room max, fifty in a level.)

8600GTS 512MB 128 bit
AMD 3800+ 2.0Ghz dual core *
2GB of RAM
350W power supply.

Do you guys think it can run X10 decently? I'll go for it anyhow unless I find out something awful about my specs...
*Slayer_2

*(not totally sure about this, as all it says is AMD 3800+ on my PC. But newegg has this one and an 2.4Ghz single core so I'm not sure which one is more likely)

X10 runs on the 8400 too, I just slotted in for the heck of it how well it would work, Its acceptable with most effects off. It's not amazing. But playable.

This is the rest of my PC:
3GB GDDR2 RAM(800Mhz)
AMD Athlon 6000+ x64 Dual Core(3.0Ghz)
800Watt Power Supply

rtge: No that card won't work. It is too slow and doesn't support DX10. You need an GeForce 8xxx line card to have DX10 support.

I'm not sure if this has already been answered (I didn't read all 6 pages of posts) but will a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE with TurboCache work with X10. I'm buying a new computer for X10 and it comes with this graphics card.

----Edit----

Whoops, this is answered about two posts above me.

I have another question now, will an ATI RADEON HD 2400 work with X10, because that's the card that'll come with my computer? If not will it work with a ATI RADEON HD 2600, because that's the one installed in my XP and I want to know if I should swap them.

Thanks.

the 8400 gs works at 22 frames per second with an enemy in front of you with shadows and refraction turned off. It works startlingly good with Crysis, Prostreet, Test Drive Unlimited, and Gears of War. I will probally get a 8600gt 512mb, but the 8400gs is enough for me!

For those that are short on money, get a 8600gt 512mb. Can be found at near $75
