I'm seeing spetsnatz themed mp maps in the future.

Not neccecarily, they're essential for "modern warfare" styled games. I've still to see a modern game (and soem sci-fi ones) without an RPG-7. Same goes with the AK-47, Desert Eagle, Barrett, etc. Even if they aren't used in combat that often, FPS games have turned them into gods

wow Slayer222, haven't seen you in a while! Oleg/Strelok made a rather sweet looking RPG7 not too long ago. If he fixes some model inn accuracy on the optic, I'll be animating it for him with my hands. Thanks for your suggestions. I agree it's shameful I've made no rocket launchers thus far. I need to just get over some of my hangups on the shortcomings of FPSC weapon treatment.

Diablos Bud, the silenced and regular versions of weapons shown/released in this thread are available separately.

Yeah, thanks, I haven't been around, been taking a break from gaming due to piles of work. I want to make a realistic modern FPS with Airmod and your weapons, but I'm waiting for Airmod and a few more weapon choices (hows the SCAR coming along) before I do that. And it doesn't help that I'm still pretty busy. I can't wait till I retire and thats decades away.

BTW, got a link to that RPG-7 so I can look at some screenies?

And I hope to finish it today.

Btw Thanks a lot Errant for those reference images , they have been a huge help .

Best, not-popular request's yet...

Thanks for the suggestions, they're all really great. I'll have to bug Airslide o see if we can work something out to get that XM8 released. If I get around to an SVD, I'll have no choice but to make a gold version lol

If I do a UMP, would 9mm or .45 be preferred?

Hopefully I can get back to this soon. Have some custom work to wrap up first but unfortunately I'm at a bit of a standstill right now... Recovering from food poisoning and have a freakin' eye-patch (yar!) for the next day as a result of treatment for a minor eye infection. Yesterday was my birthday and I spent most of it in the bathroom... awesome.

Lucky!

Ok, enough with the facetiousim, that outright stinks. But, what happens happens, so I guess we'll have to sit in the waiting room of awesomeness until he gets over his sickness and surgery (It's hard to judge a model without depth perception). Also, what the heck is a UMP?

Happy Birthday EAI!!! Hope you get better, don't rush the guns, you have a life and we (or I) don't mind if you live it, just so long as we get it sometime nest year. Can't wait to see the plethora of new guns, but I know I'll have to.

Keep up the ace work Errant.

BTW: The 45 would be cool.

Yes, I would prefer the .45 version. It's much more common in the video game world.

Anyway, Errant, don't rush it. Take it at your own pace.

Haven't seen the movie but I'm guessing lever-action, repeating grenade launcher...

Sorry but the closest I've got is a 12 gauge Webley

i think you should do models with two types of hands. like one with the hands which you are currenly using but another variation which have sleeves ( like the image in this link...)

(i know you have texture variations but it would be nice to see sleeved arms/hands) lol
thanks alot

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. Originally, I thought I might have mentioned actually making a big fish to smack people with because I'd thought of it after doing experiments with vertex weighted weapons but didn't remember if I had told anyone about that. Then I remembered the FN2000

DEMONAIR, sleeves/costumes is on the research list for '09... among way too many other things.

Too many things! Much of it not really weapon related and some not FPSC related. Sadly, I think a good portion of the list is things I wanted to accomplish last year but simply didn't happen...

-explore new hand model with limited backwards compatibility. Capable of bare hands, costume changes, etc for "period" FPS games.
-explore shaders for X9 and X10- primarily to create futuristic/laser weapons.
-character modeling/animation/exporting
-object/scenery type assets.
-experiment with making game-ready assets for other engines.
-full update for MPs 9/10 to eradicate "white square" bugs and increase compatibility with AirMod simple zoom.
-seek out artists to take over creating MP9/10 compatible assets so that I can do different things.
-increase my presence on Black Draco Games now that my old forum is completely kaput.

You really put too much time on your hands! You should have stopped asking for requests to make these things happen,or you could have finished the pack then moved on to these things, well if I had that much to do I would probably crawl up in the corner ^-^. You have to find more time for yourself.

Lol, Don't add any more things to the list until you have completed whats currently on the list now for better organization and to keep your self running around like a headless chook! Put the hardest stuff at the end on the list, so you won't get so tired starting then moving onto something else half way through it.

For me I just work on 1 thing at a time or try to at least to keep me on the right track on completing the job.

anyway, Hope to see some updates or experiments with fpsc whatever lol.

Yeah it's easy to fall into the trap of wanting to do too much, days turn into weeks and then months, next thing you know whole years go by with only partially completed projects to show for it. "Jon Fletcher Fantasy Pack Syndrome" as I like to call it. Sorry Jon, if you still visit these forums!

But having fun and enjoying yourself is still the most important thing. Good luck in the new year!

have you ever thought of making a "Golden Gun" (texture) i was trying to edit the texture of the G18 (one of my faves) to make it look like a golden gun like in CoD 4 and Farcry 2 but had no luck, if not i reckon that it would be cool because more games are having them as accomplishments nowadays (like i was trying to do) and i was hoping you could give me some tips (seems your an expert texture-er)

P.S: im a BIG fan of you, and i'd like to thank you for inspiring me to take up modeling

Make and release a basic loose sleeved model and you'll be my god forever and ever.. (Currently developing a modern day british soldier afghanistan war game in Source, and we need a british arm rig..)

Once the new source is released (if ever at this point, must bug Lee) I will start work on AirMod: Special Edition, which will include the XM8 as a bonus (if that's alright with you still).

You could model a set of hands, then put Gloves on top of them, and for non-gloved hand textures simply make the glove portion of the texture transparent. That would probably be the most flexible way to go, though obviously at the cost of some extra polies.

EAI, ever heard of the HK416? It's like a German M4 SMG/Carbine thing & would fit in with the other EU weapons you have. Also, an M60 would serve purpose as well as an SVD Dragunov.
