Cool

S4Real told me you were getting to use Project Blue for this - seems it does look promising. This should allow you to target a much wider audience, especially if the speed optimizations I have suggested to him work out (regarding distance formulas and such).

@All: Here is a new shot taken from the "Improved Demo" which I shall be uploading at just past 8 tonight. Please note this is a real in Game shot with NO Image editing or rendering etc.

Feedback welcome

Improved Alpha Demo

I have basicly improved the demo in all area's as suggested and added some more sections and "stuff". Please bear in mind I have still yet to create such things as custom Door Huds and add enemies and scares etc for the official demo next weekend. Enjoy all the same though! Please leave reviews after playing!

Very nice. Not sure if there are any spoilers here, so I'll keep it hidden.

I really enjoyed the demo, and I can't wait for the release.

I give up on playing this one.
The first time I loaded it up, I got right at the
first pitch black tunnel and died by a mysterious force.
Next two times I fell through the map at the level
start spawn. Cripes. I was looking forward to playing it too.

@ASTEK: Hmm thats wierd. I have yet to encounter any of the problems suggested with the level. Try cleaning your temporary files along with .bin and .bdo files using FPSCCleaner, then try again.

Keep the reviews coming all! Im eager to get some feedback on this!

Whoa, is the greyscaling done manually, or is it done via shaders?

Doesn't work.

I say manually. I mean... I could open up Photoshop right now and make everything in my texture bank greyscaled...

Why don't you think shaders are involved? I'm pretty sure the greyscale shader from DarkShader is one of the simplest shaders there...I doubt it is too terribly hard to make an object-specific one.

Well actually he told me they were shaders on msn, but I guess he didn't tell me the rest. lol

The screen looks good but turn down the blur just a hair. That screen is what its like right when I wake up. One idea is to only have the blur around the edges because, what I see right in front of me is not blurred at all.

True, but it does look a bit extreme, I agree...it's probably true to real life, but it can give headaches if used in excess in games.

Dammit, why do pathetic people have to ruin such great stuff!!! Damn, these forums are going to hell! All things great get no appreciation!!! CoZ, you have done a kick-ass job with everything you have ever done, even one of your shaders KILL all of EFX. You are a wonder, and a hero in many eyes, why does one as*hole have to ruin it!?!? I am not insinuating that everyone on these forums are losers, just the ones that do not appreciate the back-breaking hard work that is put in to free media that is actually worth from $10 to $1000! But no, all these guys do is b*tch and moan about the MINOR flaws that exist in awesome free stuff that they got beat by.

But I digress...

It sucks that you must leave CoZ, but I do hope you have a happy future, not filled with sour, uppity EFX developers...

You are truly up to your title, "The Best of the Best"

Final cheer,
++Roderick Pride

EDIT: Re-reading my message makes be realize that I'm gunna get banned, but I'm gunna take it in honor of CoZ.

Thankyou for the kind comments. Its nice to see there are some decent people in this hell hole they call the forum.

@Fred P: None other than the people mentioned are allowed to use my shaders. I always stated in the license agreement that I could change the license at any point. It's my work, I made it, I decide.

Replied to your email(s).
I am currently applying for a job in shader development, and am getting ready to help out a few people with some game engines. I am going back into game Dev, Just not with FPSC. DS is inthe process of being ported to another engine.

If any of you wish to contact me, you can contact me via email or add me on MSN: squashwhizzer@hotmail.com.
I obviously have spaces if any of you would like to join me in developing on another engine, or maybe just suggest idea's.

Anyway, back to to shader development I go

For the last and final time, thankyou to everyone who has supported me over the years, and continues to do so...It means a lot!

you Know where to find me
