i attatched the gun. im not asking you to do it for me i just want some guidance.

Master Man Of Justice /it looks good, but if you want to learn to texture you should start with a more basic model .try uv mapping a cube & making a create texture for it ,then a cylinder & making a barrel texture.after you have done them move onto a more complex model.

you see loads of great models on this site but not many finished ones because most people havent spent the time learning the basics of textureing there models.
trust me i am guilty of that to
get the basics down then start to make more complex models.

Yo henry check out my models. i kind of want your input seeing as you;ve helped me alot and given good advice. i made the G36k at the top of the section. and the m4a1 and the mac 10 in the m4a1 post.
(the mac10 took like an hour so the texture is not great but i spent a while on the G36K.)

@Henry,

Hey, On you "R6 Transportation" models: how did you draw the round "burn" marks for the ends of the bottles?

Thanks!

Henry, it's all still looking great! I like the new texture on the new model, but I also like the square indents on the sides on the old texture for it. Just gave it a bit more detail in my opinion.

Looks awesome, though! Can't wait to see the texture on the Rifle you have been working on...

@Henry, how long have you been doing this? Looks like another great model on the way!

I do a little bit of modelling myself (I'm not as good as you though), but I want to learn how to texture my models, I can handle the UVW mapping part but as far as texturing goes I'm generally stuck.

I can do some REAL basic stuff (see attached), but I want to be able to texture more complex models. Any recommendations?

Henry these models look great, but i wanted to know is the shot of the car a wireframe cos i cant get my head around the face on the wheel, is that one face?!

BowserYo@
when it comes to texturing what you want to do is use photos, and real life textures, mix them together and try filters on your layers until you have something you like. if you cant find any good ones of the above you can always use free imaging sites but make sure theres no copyright issues. what imaging programme are you using?

Just a suggestion. If you are going to actually model the tires individual treads then do this after you texture it. If not then it gets hard to texture it.

Your collection of 3D models has become too powerful. I'm afraid we must now exterminate you . Haha, just kidding, really nice work. I'm green with envy on the textures . Just one critique on the texture for the bottle thing: I think you took too much space for better quality textures on the smaller parts of the model, whereas IMO it would have been better to make the actualy model have a better quality.

If you were thinking about a tutorial, a texturing tutorial is definitely what you should do! My texturing is so bad, its almost embarrassing, but I can model pretty decently.
