Jokes aside, this thread is all about anything to do with ponies. This includes:

-The show itself (episodes)
-The many remixes, mixes, compositions, etc. related to ponies. Scroll up a bit to find some interesting songs (the last page had some nice ones)
-Fan art, such as things like this
-Fan fiction
-Computer games with ponies (yes, they actually exist)
-Material possessions (perhaps you have a bed cover with ponies on it? )

And don't get the wrong idea about it all being too "colourful and girly", because rarely it is. :p

And of course have fun!

Why doesn't anyone here make a pony game damnit? I'm so tempted you know... I need some ideas from you all! What genre? What setting? What's a good back story? Discord and Nightmare moon join forces and wreak havoc? It would have to be something where all Mane 6 are involved.

Oh and I'd need someone to model the Mane 6, Discord, and Nightmare Moon. Whoever can do that will be rewarded with a MLP bed cover!

My thoughts so far would be a kind of RTS-RPG hybrid, where you can control multiple characters at real time through an RTS interface (scroll around map, select/deselect "units" with mouse, move selected "units" by right clicking etc.), but have that nice Diablo III touch to it where you can level your ponies, pick up items to put into your inventory etc.

I guess the graphics would be dark and eerie, a lot like StarCraft II.

Serious question.

Who'd be interested in creating an MLP game? I can offer a big starting kick. The things I could contribute would be the following.

-Design concept (Download here)
-Base code (Debug system, in-game console, shader system, scripting engine, triggers, basic menu, and some very core game mechanics)
-Complete documentation
-A few other organisational documents

After that I will probably have to jump ship due to lack of time (secret project). Is there at all any interest? Anyone? Anything?

I've attached the design document.

If there's no feedback I'll just assume no one is interested, and this project will drop to position #4 on my to-do list.

I would if I was any good at scripting or modeling or whatever since I've yet to been able to do that. So I'm at no use...

That's what I thought too, when reading your DD. (by the way, that's a pretty nice document )

Because I think it'd be hard to get good pony 3d models and levels and all that stuff for the game... and the only thing I might be able to help with is 2d media, and I don't think I'll be able to get back into DBP while also having to learn more Java, C and Assembler for uni

I haven't used DBP since about a year and a half, but it feels like an eternity But I really wish I had the time to help on some pony related game project...

I've started to work on derpy game, as soon as pre-mod will end I'll start WIP thread. For now I'll post screenie here.

Game is about tic tac toe, but with special derpy mode.

As alpha version:

Done:
* main menu art (screenie)
* main menu controls
* field art
WIP:
* field controls for X
Next:
* Derpy's AI
* field controls for O
* field controls for X in derpy mode
* field controls for O in derpy mode
* win and loose screens

As beta version:

* add small animations for everything
* add buttons highlight
* draw extra derpy sprites

for alpha I've ripped off internet two Derpy images, IDK what about copyright or whatever - It's a fan game after all, and I don't think that redrawing same images will make sence.

I wonder, what if I wrote the MLP game using C++ and Ogre3D?

Tic Tac Toe only has a limited amount of combinations and outcomes. There are cases where you can tell the outcome of the game after one move. If you implement the rules found here, you will be able to create a perfect AI.

Haha I love how the picture on the right at "Strategy" is based off xkcd I knew I had seen that before...

Also, tic-tac-toe is boring against a perfect AI :/

Oh and @TheComet: I thought you didn't have the time for the project :S I never used Ogre3D but sounds like fun... if only we had someone to provide the media, I think that is the biggest problem currently, isn't it? Personally I'd rather go for 2D. :I
