Got mine in, but nothing about being eligible for the playbook. Either way it was fun to create something so quickly. Head to app store in 15 days is pretty good.

I managed to submit my app, and received an email that mentioned a free playbook, but still waiting for them to review the app.
That was about 5/6 days ago.

I submitted a couple of really tiny apps in time. Received acknowledgement of both and an email saying that I'm eligible for the offer. Good luck with validation everyone!

I'm a bit worried I haven't had my second email yet. I registered in time AMD submitted in time so I should be ok, but how long did you have to wait for the second confirmation?

EDIT: scrap that, just got my second email. Happier now.

Quote: "Your app submission has been successfully received by the team at BlackBerry App World, putting you on the road to qualify for the free BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet Offer 2012. The BlackBerry App World team reviews each app based on the Vendor Guidelines and we’ll notify you as soon as we have determined if your app qualifies for the free tablet offer.
When your app is approved, you will receive an additional email notice requesting a shipping address for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
If you receive notice that your app has not been accepted, don’t give up. You can modify and resubmit that app for approval as long as the app was originally submitted during the qualifying period. We will do our best to promptly review each application submission. However, we cannot guarantee a decision within a specific timeframe.
We appreciate the time and effort you have put into developing an app for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. We’re pleased and excited to have your applications on our platform and look forward to shared success and a long relationship.

Happy coding!

P.S. You are welcome to submit multiple entries for consideration, but only one BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will be awarded per registered vendor in BlackBerry App World.

Hi Sean,
By newest template do you mean v2 of the ndk? If so revert to v1 and that should solve it.

Hi Ched,
By "newest template" I'm referring to the newest "Playbook Tier 1 and 2" template in my order history.

Ah. I had that problem with the old template, but the 23rd Feb version solved that. I only had to copy the libs folder into the AGKplayer project folder.
Is this what you did?

Odd one that. Can't think what's causing it. I'm assuming you've checked the added library resources? The ones commented out in the detailed guide.

The odd part is, it can compile just fine in "Simulator" mode but not in "Device-Release".

The submissions are now being tested, unfortunately in my case I got the following email today....

Quote: "
Dear App World Vendor,

Unfortunately Release X.Y.Z or your product "ABCDEFGH" has not passed testing and therefore cannot be approved for sale through BlackBerry App World.

Please fix the following issue and resubmit your application as a new release:

Items that need attention:

- The Apps/Games didn't appear properly on the device, please fix the scaling issue

Regards,

The BlackBerry App World™ Team "

My problem was that I struggled to get the simulator working before the deadline, so could not be sure how my final build would display.
I now have the simulator working, so I have corrected the orientation issue and I have submitted another release for approval.

Fingers Crossed.

My game also got rejected but mine should be easy to fix.

Quote: "- Please correct the PlayBook words inside the application to be "BlackBerry® PlayBook™", make sure you use a capital letter "B" on words PlayBook."

So back to coding.

[Edit]
New version sent.
If you have to do the same, then remember to increase your version number.

Why do you guys bother to put text like Playbook inside the app itself?
wouldn't it be better to leave the text generic?

@ apocolyp4

Congratulations!

@bjadams

My App started life as portrait/landscape mode, then with the simulator problems I had, I converted it to landscape only.
When I got the simulator working, it turned out I was forcing it to be portrait with the playbook in landscape, if you see what I mean....

Thanks.

The games now visible on the PlayBook app store http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/91577/?lang=EN

The games free but I plan to add ads, and online score boards when the 107 update is out.

Also I got an email saying that the free PlayBook delivery email that you get your app is accepted takes upto 1-2 days after your game is accepted.

Having problems setting PLAYBOOK to portrait mode. setting g_bLandscape=false in Core.cpp and agk::SetOrientationAllowed (1, 1, 0, 0) seems to cause the game to display upright as a small screen in landscape mode with the obvious large black borders left & right!

Do I need to set ORIENTATION in bar-descriptor.xml?

Will g_bLandscape=true and agk::SetOrientationAllowed (0, 0, 1, 1) be a better option? At least it seems to be in the Simulator.

Is someone able to check the EXACT settings necessary on an actual Playbook, as my tester (who is not IT minded) kind of gave up!

I have tested g_bLandscape=false and agk::SetOrientationAllowed (1, 1, 0, 0) works as a portrait app on the device.

g_bLandscape=true and agk::SetOrientationAllowed (0, 0, 1, 1) is not recommended as the device will get confused about which way is up. Even though it will look right initially, as soon as the device is tilted it will rotate things in the wrong direction.

For landscape use g_bLandscape=true and agk::SetOrientationAllowed (1, 1, 0, 0)

So ORIENTATION in bar-descriptor.xml has no effect?
What should we set this to?

Well done!

Well I've got my first rejection .

Quote: "Your application is not fully signed."

So it's partially signed? Anyhow my AppGameKit app hasn't been rejected yet so there is still hope! This one is pretty much out of the running though because apparently the fact it isn't properly signed means I'll have to recreate the app in the vendor portal so it will have been started after the deadline.

You should set that to "Auto-orient" AppGameKit will handle the restriction to landscape or portrait.

Quote: "apparently the fact it isn't properly signed means I'll have to recreate the app in the vendor portal"

I had this same problem with the AppGameKit Player, in my first attempt I uploaded the .bar file from testing rather than the one produced by exporting (with the version number in the filename). I never found a way around it and had to create a new app.

g_bLandscape=false and agk::SetOrientationAllowed(1, 1, 0, 0) and "Auto-orient" in bar-descriptor.xml does not give the desired Portrait effect according to my tester.

Either I change tester or I don't know, it's really hard to release something without the proper device at hand

Got my Mars Rover game approved and up on the app-store. Here's the link.

No mention of the reward, but to be honest, I'm just glad I got something together and approved.

On to the next project now

For Portrait g_bLandscape=false and agk::SetOrientationAllowed (1, 1, 0, 0)

However according to my tester, the portrait settings do not work
