Can you give me a version that is in a .zip file instead of a .rar file? My computer can't open .rar files.

So what, you think everybody else's computers can open .rar files by default and yours can't?

http://www.winRAR.com/

Everybody else who has used TDK's client had to download some kind of Rar de-compressor. They managed it, why couldn't you?

(P.s.> And as by the sound of it you're probably still using XP's built in 'Compressed Folder' capability (Ick), you could also try http://www.7-zip.org/ - 7zip supports the new (actually quite decent) 7z format, as well as being to open pretty much every other compressed file format. (Including RAR.))

Gosh, you're rude.
Anyway, it's www.win-rar.com not www.winrar.com.

Cool Editor TDK man. What is the chat thing for?

Indeed, I physically slap myself on a regular basis to try and keep me in order.

@TDK: Forgot to say that I'm still supporting this editor, and will download the new version as soon as it's put up.

I am highly anticipating the release of this editor.

As for releasing the rar file. You could also use 7-Zip to decompress the files. http://7-zip.org/

This might just make me start using Dark Basic again.

Here are a few bugs I found:

-On the to do list, if you check something, sometimes If you click on something else, it unchecks. Samething with makeing new things to do.
-If you have your game in a window and you run it, the code editor is always in front of the game, so you should make it so the game is on the front when you run it.

I will put any other bugs here if I find them. (I know there are a ton of bugs in the editor because it is still being made, but these are a few that you might have missed.)

I really like it. It will be really great once it is finished!

The one I have is - I'm sure. Maybe it's because it's an older version and you have to pay for later ones.

Will add the version I have to the Utilities page on the web site.

@TDK - Awsome job! A better IDE for DBClasic than any of the DBPro IDE's - To bad it wouldn't be a DBPro and DBClasic editor, but you can't do everything I suppose. I don't know if your still accepting suggestions for "inbult" functions, but how about a set of functions that return free resources (ie: "freeObject()") which would find the first free object number, and do the same for images, sounds and other resources, it's something I know everyone would use...

Again, Excelent Job! Much, much better than darkEdit....

Sven - Incredible! What is it, open source?

EDIT: Though I can see no source Why would somebody give something like that away free??

By the way - did you know that JAR is the same as ZIP?

Ooh, I knew that JAR is the same as ZIP! ^_^

Btw, 7-zip now *can* de-compress RAR files. It can. I know it can. It works, as of version 4.24 beta, at least.

Hey TDK ur a real inspiriation... just wanted to ask would it be possible if u made a website especially for ur program... in fact maybe i could make u one - just dont expect anything too fancy. What would the website be called (www.thenameofthewebsite.bravehost.com) it'll have to have .bravehost.com unless some1 is willing to donate a server 4 it (which i greatly doubt considering the amount of MB we'll use... unless we use the server you are using right now and just use links. that way we'll use hardly any space!!! brilliant. if you are interested - email me @ s0l1dsnak3123@hotmail.com

I already have a website for all my stuff - the link is at the bottom of all my posts. I just haven't had time to do anything about the IDE on it - might as well wait until it's finished.

When it's finished, there will definitely be a setup.exe for it.

Wow, I wonder how many other people will be inspired? I was inspired until I couldn't even get VB to read a string lowercased. the left and right commands work, just not the lower(variable) command. As for Delphi, I can't find a free version for it. I'm sure i'm just being dum. but oh well. Great ide TDK!

Sorry to go very slightly (and temporarily) off-topic, but, uh... The command (at least in VB6) is LCase(). You can refer to it as LCase$() as well, if you're that way inclined.

Meh, keep working on teh editor.

I'm... pretty sure he was talking to TDK, what with this being TDK_Man's thread and everything. And the fact he has 'TDK, I love you' written in his signature.

(Go get yer own thread, punk! )

TDK_man:
I was wondering, how are the updates going to work for your IDE? will there be a server that the IDE calls to, or will it just be a simple link for the website and a manual install to a file so that the next time the IDE opens up, it checks for files, unpacks them and installs or have you got another trick up your (very wise and clever) sleeve??? Also have you fixed the sparta account bug???

TDK ....
I finally reached a slow point, and tested out your IDE.
It seems pretty stable for and Alpha release, but clearly not
ready for full beta testing

You have alot of cool features:
Help system is awsome. Minor bug with the examples...
If I click on the DB exmples from the main window,
All examples get listed and I can't select any. But,
you probably know that one.

There are still some issues with variables and functions loosing there displays when switching around different apps or includes.
My biggest problem is .... ITS TOO SLOW.
When the source code gets above 1000 lines, the slowness begins
to show itself. My main project is 3000 in the main file, 10000 if you add up all the includes. Maybe you need a setting to dissable real-time highlighting for large projects.

......
Also tried out your HTMedit app. Its great. Minor bug with the add-link thing. I'll email you particulars on that next week or so.
It works, it just leaves out some things under certain conditions.

Just to let you know that I'm still working on the IDE - along with a load of other slightly more urgent projects for clients.

As mentioned quite a few posts back in this thread, due to inherent problems with the project (it was originally an IDE for DBPro but converted to DBC), I started again from scratch.

I also said that I would be starting another thread on the WIP board when the project was advanced enough to show. As such, I definitely will not be checking this thread in the future, so please let it die in peace!
