Well I decided it is time to upgrade stock media to allow better levels over all.Of course every thing is free. And will take a few weeks.

You will see new meshes maybe some entities but mostly upgrades to meshes.

Starting with a raised platform and door.More doors will be updated to allow all doors to fit the raised platform.

Screenshot followed by download.

Lee & Rick let me know if you guys have a problem with this.

*Update

Here is the final version

"In my weird politically incorrect hypothetically incoherent contradicting obscured world definitively maybe"

The download

BTW guys some feedback would be nice as well as any bugs that you find will be a bonus.

Also is there any thing else you might like to see?

@wizard of id,

Very nice customization. Are these your own original meshes? If they are, I would specifically state this, to avoid any confusion. The fact that your .fps files reference existing stock textures leads one to believe otherwise.

Unless you get express permission, from TGC, you're not going to be able to redistribute any of their meshes.

Technically, you're violating the AUP, and the media license, if you distribute TGC's meshes.

I'd pull the DL, get authorized permission, and resume this endeavour, if you're given the green light to do so. Allowing that DL to remain would be a bad idea, at this point in time.

Next of the list
WWII Raised platforms upgrade download below.
Marble ,Metal, Wood

The following items are next on the list of things to do.

Raised Doors
Raised Straight Platforms (Both Scifi and WWII)
New Platform Meshes for corners both (Scfi and WWII)
Texture upgrade to allow Shaders to be used on WWII media
Upgrade on Scifi content Lacking _D _N _S
New platforms with gantry textures to allow seamless movement from normal gantry meshes to higher levels in your levels
Dynamic Platforms that can be destroyed
and many more just my short list for now

The platform is my own the other meshes and textures are TGC.

PLEASE note I'm not supplying any textures or meshes other then *MY* own in the downloads all that I supply is *MY* own meshes and the *MY* *OWN* FPS files.

The fps references to meshes and textures that users already have(scifi and WWII) so in no way I'am violating AUP.

Check the meshes none of TGC meshes are in the downloads that I give for download.

Next time check a bit more carefully before pointing any fingers!!!

Just tried a few and they work, and look great. Definitely will make rooms a bit more interesting, thanks WoI.

Once all finished, will they be available as one download (may be installable) pack?

I guess so.But like I said it's going to take a few weeks.
What my idea is if I have one section completed example doors I will upload that section when the platforms are complete that section and not bits and pieces as every one is going to get confused what goes where.

Where are talking about 100's or even 1000's of segment combinations textures ect.

So yeah if it's not too big I'll upload it after all the stuff has been done it will have little new textures or super large meshes.

The reason why I uploaded some of the stuff and will in future is to get feedback as well as sort out any bugs
Compressed it should easily be under 3 to 5 MB

BTW screen of a new platform(need to fatten it up a bit)
BTW if time allows I will upload the new ladder system(climbable for a change) when I'm done with it tomorrow

The gantry on the left.

The railing might be a little stretched will have a look at it.

The gantry on the right
The simple way of fixing that would be with a new mesh or using the railing mesh for the gantry on the left just need a new uv map then.
However all the railings would have to be changed then.

Thanks gives me another idea to do some various combinations of the grantries

Doors delayed due to half height segment. This will allow compatibility
with raised and half height gantries.

This full height segment is for testing purpose only and require feedback to enable a better final product.

I've tried the full height segment in both X9 and X10. In X10 everything is fine, in X9 I get extreme jerkiness, go..stop..go..stop between each segment. I've attached the test mad which is just a rectangle of your full height segments to see if anyone else gets the same.

I've also noticed a couple of non-essential things as well;

1)There is no sound when walking on your updates.
2)"Mil_fullheight_open_1" doesn't have a thumbnail for it.

Thanks I'll fix that up.

Here is the half gantry with door for testing purposes.

Screeny followed by download.

As you can see I'm in the process of making it accessible for the raised segment to the half segment to the normal and full segment..

What I really want to know is should I change the bit underneath the full segment to look like the half segment....

Just tried it again and still same problem, sometimes the frame rate drops to 15. Funny thing is that if I jump once everything runs smoothly after that!? Weird!

Mesh seems to be missing for 'Raised Gantry SciFi > Specialplatform_tjunction', as I get the following error Runtime Error 7001 - Mesh number illegal at line 10935.

You have this in the fps file "meshbank/user/specialplatform.x", instead of "meshbank/user/specialplatform/specialplatform.x"

Hi guys

Time was not on my side today so no release today.

However V0.2 and V0.3 will be combined now. With a few new stuff added to V0.3 this includes the following stuff.

Busy making new meshes for maintenance/prison gantry the two textures didn't translate well onto the military mesh.

Also I have made a new mesh for the raised/half/full gantry which better reflects the various types of gantries.

As for the corridors I will be adding a CSG block to all corridors
This will fix a few problems regarding walls, this will result in a more clean *cut* view. This is very time consuming at least 2 to 3 days.

I will also be looking at upgrading the teleporting meshes.

So we will be looking at a new update around the weekend perhaps Monday

Hi guys

Hard at work getting the stuff ready for release I’m hoping to get the release ready for tomorrow again I had to make a tough choice keep the current File and Directory Format
or make the file and directory structure more professional and more distinct sadly I opted for the last I’m sure that this will be the last change with regards to files and directories

I’m not going to release the corridors and only one Sci-fi/WWII door with each gantry type with this version but for a later version I’ll add the rest of the doors there are meshes that I want to work on now to get ready for tomorrow’s release.

I’m going to tell you about it now you can see all in the release tomorrow.

I'm pushing hard to get the release out a bit later on tonight

Screeny of the new directory structure

The new version.

Some stuff has not made it to this release due to time limitations
however you find some new stuff updated meshes from previous version.

Currently there is a bug with the software that doesn't allow half doors.

You will find some empty directories don't worry about them I have removed the media for the time being.

Hi guys just a quick update

The next update V0.5 will be available with some new stuffed added like grates a special type grate that a pillar fits into nicely with railings still working on the lift updates and the some corridors will also be available as well as the WWII raised, half and full gantry.

As a side note if you have any problems with version 0.4 let me know by tomorrow to allow some time to fix if it's a minor problem.

I'm also busy with a complete upgrade of the corner segments has a slightly higher poly count but allows for a much smoother mesh.

If time allows the next mesh might make it into the v0.5 is a slightly large floor mesh only, to allow the outside wall also to be covered with the floor. This is a problem I have seen with all segments and doesn't look very good.

The other pet project that will still take awhile to complete might have one or two meshes ready who knows...quarter/half and extended rooms segments as well as some scifi themed pillars

The new update will uploaded on the weekend

thanks cheers

Any chance you could have a play around with ventilation ducts? Perhaps making an incline and a ventilation entrance grate that can be knocked or shot open?

Well I can do you one better how is a animated vent grate with an animated fan.Well that is the idea.

I have been busy animating and importing a working fan for the last 1 hour or so.The fan does work via switch script or player in zone but for some reason it only plays a single frame and stops.I need to figure out a way to loop the animations like you would loop sound files.

An animated grate door no problem a dynamic grate even easier inclined vent duct no problem would have to test if the collision detection will allow it.

Yeah I will put a duct system into the next release a proper one at that where you can shoot out grates while your in it ect.If I do it now I might not get the other stuff I have planned done...

Should take no more than an hour or so for a non-animated version.

Just side note Nickydude I would have to check the soundbank if there is any matching duct type sound...

I guess I'll push the release back to Sunday...Wish granted.!!!

Here you go nickydude
Some thing to test and play around with is this what you have in mind.

Keep in mind this isn't the final product just some segments to test out.
T-junctions and corners still have to be added

NOTE is a test version of the ducts only.

GUYS take note this IS a test version may NOT be used in any games what so ever as well as the textures and meshes till it's 100% done.

Hi guys

No sadly this isn’t the update yet. That is still on course for Sunday a few things still have to be tested and uv maps checked.

Next week I want to do user request as many as I can fit in a weeks time.
Any thing really relating to segments mesh updates textures you would liked to changed some thing you thing should be remapped…

Please note that any requests for meshes or special type meshes should fit the current textures that can be found in either scifi or WWII.

NickyDude as for your duct system is nearly completely you will find a document describing which segment is which there will be a special CSG straight and a standard straight as well as a few other additions The document will be in the duct segments folder.

Any requests should be posted by Tuesday to give me enough time.
