Okey sorry for the double post.

I got a email last day...concerning uploading characters in the TGC store.
The problem was...they use MP4's bipeds. Therefore i cant upload the script or!
Make a link in the characters FPE that directs to that script.

I need to make my own script...the problem is.
I cant script. Also! To make the AI act identical...or at least make it look/work good.
Than i think i would have to copy the MP4 FPI's which i think isnt possible due to copyright issues.

So that means i cant upload them to the TGC store.
Which means...they wouldnt be uploaded on anything for a long time.
Since i dont have any website...(am working on one) and than i have to figure out how i would sell them.

Sorry for the people that wanted them.

ok, just so I get this right, you can not have a model you make use a default script either, over copyright issues. I'm confusused!!
If you have to make your own scripts for fpsc that meens entiy maker, and the character files are just redundant... If I under stand what cheese cake is saying.

Ouch man I feel for you as I can't script as well. If these are melee characters, one suggestion is to use the new default melee script that comes with the recent upgrades of FPSC, and just alter the frames for damage. These act more like the melee characters from bond1's latest packs and have a damage for a specific frame rather than just damage in random frames like mp4 wich is better in my opinion. You can legally use this one since it is distributed from TGC as a basic melee script and not from a pack that has ties to the original artist. If I'm not mistaken it's mentioned in the documentation for the store. If it's not a melee character, then I'm at a loss. But I hope you find a solution soon; it's always good to see more characters in the store.

heltor... you can use the default scripts..
But since Bond1 made the scripts for MP4, then they are his work.
I should have known this. Since it is pretty understandable.

Disturbing thanks man. Yeah i would have to look into making my own scripts.
Have to learn them anyways. Thanks for the heads up on the default melee script!
Will look into that.

Cheese cake great work on the characters.
I like your style because it is very unique.

* some things you could work on:
-Textures:

First of all your textures are good with someone of your caliber but, i think that you can take these models even

further with your texturing.
Remember to search for plenty of references so you know what your going to make your texture look like. so searching

for rotten skin and looking at zombies would probably help alot more to get that dead feel, make some rips and tears

in their skins.
Your highpoly beserker is looking good, the proportions are a little wrong so just raise his legs a little bit

higher because his body looks to long. Also for a monster with the name beserker shouldn't he look like an insane

blood sucking ravaging monster? Try working on his face a bit more by adding some teeth and you should probably give

him a orc nose so he doesn't look like more of an alien.
As for your bioshock character, its a good texture but always use hard brushes, because when you use soft brushes it

makes the baked textures stand out to much. using hard brushes is a good way to "crisp up the textures".

Creating a new bipe..
- The models stand too much human, bipe them so they are slouched and crouched down in anger, to make them look

crazy and scary.

Anyway keep up the good work. Btw, what modeling program are you using?

Crav3 first, thanks!
I really like the way you comment, its just perfectly clear and i know what to do/change.
Cause sometimes its just, thats to thick, thats to large etc..etc.

Anywho...
As for the high poly berserker, you are totally right!
Anatomy in 3d models isnt my strongest point. Even though, in sketches: quick sketches, concepts, final drawings they are much better.
But since he is an very outdated model, he is just laying on my computer catching dust.
I dont think i'll ever work on him, since i have new models that are better.

And as for the textures.. again, i agree with you!
But for that i am following some tutorials that i found on the net.
Every day i am trying for some more challeging texture work.
And try to improve my texture skills with the day.

Also! The Bioshock character, you are right. But again! Its a very old model, even older than the berserker.
So i wont work on those 2.

I agree with you about the pose they have.
But since i use the stock bipeds and the MP4 bipeds.
They all have the same positions, poses.
I dont know how to alter these bipeds or make my own. I am however following tutorials that teach you this.
But its a whole new world for me. So this could take a while.

Oh, i use 3ds for modeling, mudbox for high poly, photoshop for texturing.

Again, thanks!

Also a question for you all.
I am working on my site and try to make it look as good as i can.
This is my first site so dont expect "the best site".
Anyway, i had this plan for a sort of shop!
It would go like this:

I'll make some body part meshes. Arms, legs, torso, hands etc..etc.
All sorts of differenst styles. Thin, fat, muscular, horror etc..etc.
And in my site, i'll include all of the pictures. Give them a certain code.
So people can put together their own custom model.
The only thing that needs to be done are:

Assemble the body part meshes
Send the codes to me
Try to be specific as you can, like how you want the texture to look like
And i'll work on the model! When its finished. i'll send the model by mail.

What do you think? Good idea or not?

Since they are all premade meshes, it would be a lot cheaper than real custom models.
And i am thinking of making some special discount for certain body part meshes.
So if you put together a certain combo, it would be a bit cheaper.
ANyway tell me what you think, if it is good.
I'll include it in the site.
If not...than i wont.

Thanks in advance.

Also another tip when texturing,
what i do is i use some sort of reference image and i zoom in very closely and look at the variants of colour patterns in the image, like where it gets darker and lighter, also the way things like scratches and dents are placed onto the texture of the object, and then i try and draw as closely as i can to the reference image so they almost look alike, then after that i start layering some extra stuff like dirt grime and grunge to tune it up to make it look unique.

Its always good to do it this way to improve texturing skills, because just using the tools in photoshop isn't enough, hand painting is probably the best option to advance your skills.
and also for texturing, imagine the way you want your texture to turn out, the way it would feel, look like if you touched it even temperature,(may sound weird) but when i see a ravaging zombie it makes me feel cold..

keep at it.

Hey Templar, thanks man! Yeah i am still struggling about the website lay out, color combinations, illustrations, font to use and what sort of buttons to use.

I looked at your website and it looked really sharp, very nice!
So is it possible if i could just copy your site? No just joking.
But is it possible if i could add you on msn? Because website design.
Putting on a website, whats compatible? etc.. is still very unclear to me...
Since i just started on making a website.

Crav3 hey man, yep i followed some tutorials about the human skin color saturation.
How the shadows would react etc..
How to add some details in the texture. So i think that would be good enough for me...
Right now i am just trying to create some new monsters, with hopefully even better textures.

Also as for the hand painting textures, yep i also do that.
I first create a high poly mudbox version of the model.
With just enough details on the anatomy...So not like Bond or Jon...that it has all of the details with the high poly...
(since my computer cant handle that, yet!)
If i upgrade my computer, than i will.
Anyway, when the highpoly is done. I export it to 3DS.
Bake a normal map, specular map, light map and diffuse.

Open it in Photoshop, add a skin tone to it. Create a new layer.
Which is midgrey. Set it as overlay. Then i start painting on that layer.
I bought a pen tablet a while ago, so i use that for my textures.
When the detail layer is done.

I create another layer which is also midgrey.
There i add some shadows, again! I set it as overlay.

When thats done i create another layer. (all these layers! )
I go to the color channels, use the could filter on every channel.
And set the layer as overlay. Play with the hue saturation.
ALso with the opacity.
So that is looks like a nice skin.

For blood, clothes, etc...i use different techniques..

I cant take credit for this "how to make a skin texture".
I just followed a few tutorials and used bits and pieces from them and added them together.

Anyway, thats the way i work (for now).
Its probably an option that this will change when i move on with texturing and modeling.
Maybe i'll find a better method.

AND!!

Nobody liked the plan? About "setting up your own model"?
If not, i'll scrap that from the list.

Thats a great idea!
I have been thinking of something exactly like that, but since I am no good character-modeler it didnt go well
But you should go with that, with many parts to choose from it will become a great addition.

Why not have them in the store without scripts, not everyone uses fpsc, they use models for other engines.

Was this varient of the bioshock character ever released?

Thanks all for the feedback!

Quote: "Was this varient of the bioshock character ever released?"

Uhmm..no that character wasnt released, just the helmet guy.

I cant seem to find all of the characters i made.
My computer crashed several times...i saved most of the media..
I guess i didnt saved all of the media..
But than again...i have a huge library when it comes to textures and models.
So maybe they are among them.

Quote: "Why not have them in the store without scripts, not everyone uses fpsc, they use models for other engines."

Yeah but for the TGC store, i have to make them FPSC ready.
Unless there is a update on the store that i can upload models without making it FPSC ready?
That would be great.
Thanks for the heads up anyway!

Templar i use [email protected] as my email address.

Crav3, thanks but.. i know what the search function is.
I know how to use it. I have Vista and i also know how to use it in Vista.

But that isnt the problem, the problem is! That i save my files like:
Cheese_Cakeasd.dds, Cheese_asd.3ds etc...etc.
(without the name of the model)

If i did saved them with the name of the model then it wouldnt be a problem! Cause than i could just search for something similiar in those lines.
For example...

Erebus. I could just search for Erebus texture. Erebus normal map.
and so on.
But! I didnt had a name for my models when i was making them.
So instead of Erebus, it could be: Monster zombie guy.
Or new project, new model, character1234.

There might even be a chance that they got erased.
I only found a few characters. But not the model Astek wants.

Also Astek, i am making some pretty sick characters.
As for an apology that i didnt had the whole model pack ready even though i said that i would send the model pack.
So i could send you a new one and i am also trying to do some business with bond.
Maybe that he could sell his new bipeds. So if he does. And if he doesnt mind me giving you 1 model that contains animations from his new bipeds.
Than i could make you a whole new Revsaw. More bloodier. More realistic.
Since that it was too low poly, the anatomy wasnt correct.
And of course i learned new methods over time.

Your choice?

Hey templar nice banner man!
And nice site!

I was also working on some stuff.
Just some basic ideas.
But this whole site creating is pretty hard..

I thought it would be easy. Easier than texturing.
But actually its a bit harder.
To make it look how you want it to be.

Here was my idea:

http://fps-files.com/index Thats it so far and have sort of used the layout on my site..

Cool layout you posted, If you want me to use it just let me know and I'll change it.

If you want to use the one I made send me some of your model renders and ill add it to the banner and some of the text you have in yours.

I have decided to make your site with the same website engine that FPs-Files is using as it allows you to add things to your site without needing to edit the code or anything.

That is when its setup correctly. Good thing with it is that it users HTML template to operate which makes it much easier for me.

Hey Templar nice man and thanks!

I was at work today...and worked on a new layout...
I think this one is better than the previous i posted.
That one was...pretty...yeah..uhm..uhm.

Here is an idea of how it could look like.
