Yeah. You should make a CoD or Resistance style tracer. Like, mostly white, but with a little yellow. That looks most realistic.

And make sure that there's no gravity involved. That'd be nice. Bullets are affected by gravity, but there's no mile-long sniping in FPSC. Too much space.

But either way, cannot WAIT for 1.1 to be released. After looking at the manual, I will have to spend the rest of my life, systematically using every single command possible.

I'll die somewhere around the middle. Or sooner if I forget to eat.

The HM tracers aren't affected by gravity at all because I made them completely seperate from the main engine and I did not code the tracers to be involved with the gravity.

And the HM tracers colour can be changed by editing the png file in the databank folder, I don't know if that will be in Fenix mod though as hockeykid may remove or delete that.

Looking forward to the release

Soon guys, soon. Its might take another day or too because I have a feeling that DBP has a broken command "set object frame" as that was what was causing the sound bug but I found out that it affected all gun animations. I applied a "hot fix" but I would rather fix it the right way (and if the command is really broken ill just pester Lee until he fixes it ) If things start taking too long I might throw in an extra feature or two between me debugging whats going on .

set object frame works for me, always has, never used it much at all but its not broken for me. show some code to help me determine why it would not work.

Sorry for off topicness... Here is some topic stuff:

But off from off topic! And I think this is not for 1.15. But why not upgrading? Some people even ask this for 1.09. Why not upgrading is the question. But I hope you are doing good Hockeykid and I always like your work! You are a very kind person and I hope to see a valued member badge. if BOTB developer would be a valued member and 3d master, what logo would that person get?

I've tidied up this thread AGAIN! Seriously, how hard is it to stay on topic? This is by far the worst thread for people going off topic, it must drive hockeykid insane to come in here and see a page full of posts none of which are relevant to the actual MOD.

Thanks Thraxas. We appreciate the moderators' help with these sort of things. At least I do, anyway!

I think the Zombie Mod thread is the worst for off-topic posts, but at least the thread maker doesn't mind.

As a sort of stand-in update:
Hockeykid has been dedicating his time to not only fixing anomalies and bugs, but to fixing them elegantly. It doesn't take much effort to throw code at a bug until it stops causing problems (Sometimes known as a "hot fix"), but it does take a lot more time to actually fix the bug itself.

DBP has problems... everyone knows it... even Lee knows it. He's even made points about it in the FPSC source!

So I think the best thing for the future of the Mod would be for everyone to wait calmly while hockeykid trudges through the source code wasteland to find the core problem he's experiencing and formulate a solution.

also as a recomendation to pass the time when you are waiting for these things is TO WORK ON YOUR GAME. we are game developers for gods sake like i said before, "i planned out my game according to the features in Fenix Mod." that is why we have these mods, so we can MAKE games.

thats what i do anyway

I take offence to that! And i am no longer working on the thread. I just left it open so people can ask for help if they want it. If they are spamming, would it be possible to have the thread locked thraxas?

Ply, would i be able to talk to you on msn about the FPSC source? S4 has said that he isnt having anything to do with DB Pro and knxrb has helped me alot already

To be honest at the moment, i am making a game and i think that allot of people haven't put their work on hold for this mod Im waiting for this mod to be implemented in Project Blue. To be fair that should be a quicker process as it is transferring code rather than writing it all out from scratch All the same, i am willing to do anything to help (Donate code to either mod have a look at isolated code to try to help with a bug)

Another example of a very off topic post.... Not to mention that (I know I don't speak for Ply and S4) as far as I know both Ply and S4 are very busy with their real lives.

@all I'm debugging my code like their is no tomorrow. I aiming to have this finished sometime over the weekend. No promises.

Great to hear!

sorry for my off topicing btw.

I should be getting my computer soon, and will be able to use it. also, for the umpteenth time, I saw light-bloom effects discussed earlier on, and was wondering if it was, in fact, adjustable.

Hockey, I understand, if you are busy or anythign and you might not have seen this question made by me or anything, but I asked a few pages ago, that is there a way to change the position of the 3rd person camera. So that it's little on the side of the screen, not in the middle. If there's a way that we can do it ourselves, then could you explain with the smallest detail, cause I'm "noob" on anything, except game designing. If you can only do it and it's hard coded in somewhere, is it possible for you to possibly do it?

Thanks for responding!

Is there a possible way that someone could provide me with an edited version of the third person script, so that the character appears slightly more to the right, sort of like in Resident Evil 4?
Apologies if I am annoying, I am still learning to script.

I looked in the script and from what i can see it's not edited there, but maybe you could change the model so its's moved a little...

that was a good idea The Zoq2, I wish I had thought of that!

and I am having a problem with the body and third person scripts. they spawn me wherever they want to, not where I place the entity.

Hey Hockey,

I've gotten to the point through lots of tweaking/fiddling around, that I can get this mod to run testbuilds on any of my maps

However, when I try to build the exe, that's where the problem lies.
It always fails RIGHT at the end. I've already tried using the Vanilla fpscgame.exe, and it builds just fine. Using 1.16 rather than 1.15 doesn't help either, if even, making it worse.

Any insight on this, or hope that the new version could fix this?

Thanks!

@Hador

You need a "Player start" marker for it to work. It's player based, not entity based.

Can't wait!

The third person doesn't work at all for me... I mean, the camera is behind the entity which I set the script to... I have player start.
And well, I've tried to put the Third Person.fpi to main, shoot and appear... And none work... I mean, can't shoot, and animations don't work.

Yeah, I don't think you can shoot in this.

Sorry about that. You can only move as of now.

But don't put it in appear or shoot. Only main.

Third person definately has a few problems.

But I'm sure if anyone can fix it, it's hockeykid.

And even if he saves it for a later update, I personally can wait for third person. Not too high on my priority list.

But I'm sure he'll address it.

I've been reading through the beginnings of the manual, and I really can't wait for Hockeykid to release the new Fenix Mod. There's so many commands that are included which will definitely add that extra touch to my game.
Nice job Hockeykid (I know it will be)

Great Progress here and there.

I was wondering if u could help this newbie source coder here.

I have made a third person code in dbp. Now i want it to add it to the source code. I already got this functional. But i had to make a new cam and i just putted this:

directly at the beginning but then i get green screen( green is normal background of camera 1) while loading, is there a special place where i put this?

Thanks in forward,

Red Eye
