I briefly considered the S6 Edge but decided against it. Now I'm kind of wishing I hadn't.

What kind of stupid idiot thinks allowing their children sub-10 years old to stay out after 10PM in the dark?

Had to call the police over some daft kid who tagged along a girl who is likely 7 years old and another girl who is probably just 9 or 10 and the idiot in question he is about 12 I think...

'Sigh'

I know one thing for sure... my kids will never be outside in such circumstances...

This used to be a good neighbourhood...

News:

It snowed today! Like, properly snowed! We've had it snow lightly a few times before but never anything like this. In the 8-9 years we've lived here, this is the first time the snow has ever stayed thickly on the ground. It's also the first time we (me and my siblings) have ever had proper snow to play in, so we were up at 6.30am and stayed outside for about 2 hours Photos incoming (they'll be down-sized by PhotoBucket so as to not stretch the page, but you can right-click and open the image to see the full size if you're so inclined):

STill having trouble getting Unreal to recognize that I have made changes to a C++ file, even after rebuilding and compiling the code. The changes only take effect when I launch the game in its own window, which is really impractical because it takes a LONG time to do that for some reason.

So, I went back to Unity a bit and I accidentally created a Super Mario 64ish camera using three lines of code:

I still need to work out how to allow manual rotation, shouldn't be too hard. Maybe

Never used Unreal [Unless 15 minutes with that stuff that shipped with Unreal 3 counts? ], not used Unity since I dunno, ages ago... but...

In Visual Studio you have the option to Clean your builds, and then rebuild... should this not fix the issue if it is even an option?

I didn't see that option but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist!

I think it must just be a bug with the current (newer) update for Unreal, I re-did the tutorial four times just to check and the problem pops up very randomly and for no apparent reason, so I may report it as a bug. Unless someone like Dar13 has any explanations?

You know what would be awesome on this forum? The ability to tag certain people so that you could get their attention, rather than wait for them to read a 47k+ message thread.

I've never gotten around to using Unreal like that, with C++ code, because I don't currently have a large enough C: drive for both Witcher 3, Windows 7, and Visual Studio 2013.

So, I can't help you unfortunately.

Bad news

99% chance my mother's tumor is malignant. It is not nearly as topical as they originally thought, upon further investigation they discovered it's quite intertwined with her frontal lobe. They will most likely do surgery on Tuesday, where they will confirm if it's malignant or not. The doctor was brutally honest and said to expect the worst.

Either way, since they have discovered that it's pretty intertwined, they have warned us that it has done some damage and removing it will add a risk of more damage. Her memory has been affected, some of her cognitive functions are a lot slower. Removal of the tumor may cause her to change personality even more, not be able to remember some things, maker her easily confused.

No talk of what treatments yet (it could still be benign, after all), but I would suspect chemo/radiation therapy. I don't know how early they caught it after all because to be that intertwined it must have been there a while. Her memory didn't seem affected until late last week though, so maybe it was caught fairly early.

I may have to give up my Presidency as I doubt I'll be on here much this summer, or year, or maybe even longer. I will check in periodically but I will be spending most of my time with my mom. Those who have facebook, feel free to try to find me if you want to stay updated and keep in touch - just look for facebook.com/yodamanjer and you should find me (Jeremy Gardner).

I feel completely numb, helpless, and out of hope. What if they say she's got two years left? 1 year? Six months? The stupid mind keeps trying to sort it out, and I have no idea.

TheComet, Clonkex, and Dar13, if you guys want to continue our Binary Pixel project without me, please feel free to do so. Life is pretty much giving me the middle finger right now and I'm not going to be very productive for a while.

So, Clonkex, name your VP as I am officially going to turn over my Presidency because of these circumstances. Email a mod with a link to this post and they will see that I did indeed write these words, that you're not just trying to take over.

Thank you all for the support, and I seriously hope to come back with good news in a few days.

Interestingly enough, in the past year, two teachers at my school have been diagnosed with brain tumors, had them surgically removed, and are now doing fine. I hope the same goes for her.

So Amazon changed its policies recently about free delivery, you need to buy a certain amount worth of items, ÂŁ20 for any number of items or a single item...

I ordered 3 items earlier, and then was thinking to get a Pipe/live-wire detector and I found one below ÂŁ20 and was wondering, why it was not Free as usual

Fortunately I was in time to cancel the other order and redo them and add this one to it...

So remember, if you already placed an order and later thought of something else to add to it... if the last order is not in the process of dispatch yet or is [I think you can still cancel it if it says preparing for dispatch, but ideal if it is before that] you can cancel it and state 'Other' or whatever you want for cancelling and then redo the whole order and add the new item(s) to it

This has been a MrValentine Pro-Tip

Slight update (while I have time)

Surgery is definitely happening on Tuesday, will start at 7:30 and go until at least 3 in the afternoon, probably a bit later. Dr. Rust is a world-renowned neuro-surgeon and is confident he can get quite a bit of the tumor out, but says we won't know more about the nature of it until probably two weeks after they submit it to pathology. In the meantime, they're figuring out chemo appointments in the event that they need it (easier to set it up now and have it ready rather than wait until the results come back).

She's in really high spirits but is also very afraid, as are all of us. Another really scary thought is that when she comes out of surgery she may not be the same person anymore, it will modify some memories and may even make her lose some. :/ She may need us to help her out remembering things. She might wake up thinking she's still in Colorado, which we left back in 2002. We're currently in Wisconsin which is quite the different place.

Thank you all for all your support! It really feels great to have such a great community here who actually cares about people. I will do my best to provide small updates in the future. It's just really hard to find the time these days, hence why you should add me on facebook if you want to! I know you all aren't stalking me.

I would normally NEVER do this. But this is a dire situation for my family and we need the help.

Could you guys, even if you can't donate, just share our GoFundMe page? It would REALLY help us out, and we would owe you debts of gratitude forever. It would really mean a lot to us!
We named it Tim the Tumor because that' sjust what happened haha

Are any of you guys on Twitter? My sister and I started the hashtag #EvictTimTumor and have been tweeting non-stop for almost two hours. We're already almost 1/50th of the way there. I... I can't believe how supportive everyone is being. Seriously, if there's anything I can ever do for any of you? Just say the words, I'll help you out in anyway that I can. <3

If you guys could also join in with us on Twitter, using that hashtag and posting our GoFundMe link, I would be eternally greatful. I can't believe we've managed to get this far already.

I hate the name "Tim Tumour" so much (although maybe that's an incentive to help get rid of the thing) but I'm gonna do what I can (I don't have a lot of cash since I just spent a crap-tonne on 3TB HDDs, unfortunately).

It's just a shame the exchange rate is so bad atm

I don't want to change the topic, and perhaps this is a bit heartless, but... maybe this somewhat pathetic attempt at a video will help take your mind off things...? (Yeah, it's an ad for our latest video)

Yeah we had a few people mention that and we realized it does have that option. GoFundMe is not actually that great of a website but we had very little time to set one up.

1740 at last count... amazing in less than 24 hours. Thank you all so much!

Popping in to say that tomorrow is her surgery. I am nervous. It shouldn't take too terribly long (so they say) but who knows we'll be in the waiting room. Last I knew, we have at least 10 family members and something like 15-odd friends coming to support us while we wait for her. We might have to go outside.

Money laundering might be one of them...

But then Banks don't work that way and automatically bind you into money laundering crimes lol which you then have. To PROVE you were not involved at your own cost...

So I would say PayPal is doing you a favour at both ends haha 😆 [not to mention themselves too] I think it also allows you time to cancel it?

My dad used to be a Barclays banker (not the cockney rhyming slang, but I used to say that to him a lot), but they moved his office to Glasgow, so he was made redundant a few years a go. Interestingly he told me not to open an account with them. I used to be with Woolwich (which is where he worked before) but they got taken over by Barclays and he said I should close my account and go elsewhere. Guess he didn't like working for them.

Shame about the HSBC, really, I have banked with them since I was 18 and been happy with them. Granted they weren't helpful when I was a student and Student Finance UK screwed up that one year, meaning I didn't get my money to December, the extra overdraft would have meant fewer arguments over rent.

But they didn't extend it for the right reasons, one of the problems some lenders have is they lend what people cannot pay back - so whilst disgruntled, I saw it from the other side. And when it came to paying off my overdraft, they were prepared to be reasonable (I was unemployed at the time). They were also good about extending my withdrawal allowance when I went to Germany one year.

Whilst they have an atrocious track record. It's annoying as they've always provided me with a good service. I suppose if I found a bank who has excellent service and better moral backbone then...well, they wouldn't be a bank.

Hmm... I had been thinking to go for The Co-Op... their HQ is a 20 minute walk from where I live I call it The Fish Tank, and from another perspective, The Prison ...

But that recent scandal a few years ago... i think that should have blown over by now...

Co-Op seams the underdog compared to the other establishments... might look further into it... [They even have shops for groceries etc.]

@Clonkex: My Brother is the one managing the donations. i think he got it working, apparently all he had to do was verify his email three times. Thank you so much!

The tumor is out, but it appears to have metastasized from somewhere else, and they don't know where. We will not know if it is malignant or not until at least one week from today, probably closer to two, and she will have oncologists looking her over this next week. She will be kept in ICU for at least three days. I have a cold right now, so I likely will not be able to visit her just yet. After 3 or 4 days they will move her to a regular room for at least 36 hours to see how well she would do at home, with our assistance.

I never thought we would have to deal with anything like this. I don't like what life is doing to us right now. It can stop anytime.
