I modified the fpe file to allow for a better looking head shot while keeping bond1's new death animation. It works for the first two zombies but I don't know if it works for the last two. The one side effect is that it does away with bond1's new hurt animation.

It's all good.
Changing the color is so easy that an extra step in the process is no big deal.

I just bought your fat zombie Bond and I have to say that it is
excellent. You've really got me into the idea of making a game
that is oddly reminiscent of Doom 3.

Hey bond1, i just got a great idea for your next zombie!

Crawling versions of your current zombies, with no legs (obviously).

The skinny one with his could chase you!

The fat one could move slowly, dragging his huge body along! It'dd be awesome!

Or he could just roll along the floor until he reaches you, and then bites into your leg like he would into a giant chicken drumstick, gnashing your ankle into shreds as you drain more and more clips into him...
Not that I have a demented mind or anything...

That'd be SWEET. I prefer the drag body weight method, but add the drumstick method and well... SWEET!

Dark Jaguar Flame - So? Everybody has a style. It just so happens his fat guys look the same. Beside you can't acquire Cyblob unless you get FPSC X10 so it doesn't really matter.

PS I am not yelling. I was just proving a point.

Why do these models crash FPSC unless you have a higher version than
1.09? It didn't work for me until I upgraded to V1.11 which killed my
FPS and left me back at square one.

Because they use scripting commands not available with pre-1.09 versions. You could remove the PLRFREEZE commands from the script, but then you still have to deal with a bug that exists with versions prior to 1.09 where the character will start cycling through all the animations at certain times.

Hehe yeah! That was a happy accident when manipulating some keys in the biped workbench. I really liked it, it reminded me of some scary movie I saw a few years ago, so I left it in!

Yes, the fat zombie and Cycblob originated from the same torso. However, each one was sculpted separately in Mudbox, and the fat zombie is quite a bit fatter than Cyblob when they are placed side by side.

Finally got around to buying these - I must say, great work!

I modified my plrfreeze command to work like stock (plrfreeze=0 or 1, I used to use plrfreeze and plrunfreeze) so your zombies work as-is in AirMod. I also modified the destroy scripts to use bloodspurt=2, which spurts blood from the head. Looks awesome

Glad you asked! This is my plan for the next 8 weeks or so:

-Crawling zombie torsos
-Modern day boss character, with multiple attacks (firing gun, combat knife, pistol whip, roundhouse kick)
-Chainsaw dude
-Fantasy "spell" type weapons
-Giant end-boss type character, that would work equally well in a fantasy or horror game. If you've seen the movie "Beowulf", I'm thinking something like the Grendel monster. It'll be fun working this out, and I'd kinda like to have him do his own little in-game cutscene before actually fighting him to really freak the player out!

Sweet! I have a suggestion before you start making this though... It would change the model, but it would still be a giant end-boss character...

A colossus from Shadow of the Colossus?

Just kidding... The hair on the beast would send FPSC's framerate to nothing.

Either way, I'm looking forward to it. There aren't very many end-boss characters...

How about an informal survey?

I'm seriously considering going all out for this modern day "commando" style boss character. More specifically, I think some actual in game lip-synching would be awesome. For example, at certain times during the fight he would taunt you with things like, "Is that all you've got?". With full in game lip syncing.

The question is, this will take quite a bit of extra time on my part, and will have to be reflected in the price. I'm just wondering if the community would WANT to buy a character that was perhaps in the 8 dollar range for example. Let's face, for a lot of FPSC users, 8 dollars might as well be a thousand dollars.

So, is there a market for 8 dollar characters, or should I stick to the formula of the Blade Seeker and Zombies - in the 3-5 dollar range. Let me know.

While I agree that 8 dollars is a fortune for many here, I think there would be a market for such a thing. Perhaps providing an alternate texture or two would soften the blow, as we could get the equivalent of 2 or 3 characters for the price.

Truly excellent work here!

Best.

Bond1, i like your new ideas, and that would be cool.

However,
It's up to you. I personally think you are giving us too much for our money right now. If you raise your prices, you are naturally going to have less customers. I think you should concentrate mostly on your standard stuff, and release your new pricier models every now and then.

I thought Chuck Norris too and by George if you created something
like that, I'd make it look like Chuck Norris and put him in a game
you can't win. Lol.

But yeah, I seriously want that chainsaw guy with my details
on how he should be animated and everything.
The commando might be a good idea... but its a shooter. Who says
"Bring it on" while they're getting blown away by a Ak-47 or
something?

I know you played RE: 4, so is Krauser where you got that idea?
I would buy it but I don't know for exactly $8.00. Maybe 5?

Waiting to see your work.

Yeah. To be honest, I'm not all that creative. Usually I just copy things I like, with a bit of my own spin.

Krauser from RE4:

I guess what I'll probably do is just make two versions, on the flip side there will always be people who just want the "best" version and money isn't a big deal. Thanks for the feedback. I'm checking out this week while I visit family, then I'll be starting this stuff when I get back.

While your making a modern day commando, make sure to put some modernday soldiers on your list - say U.S. GI's, maybe some Soviet guys too (I realize thats at least a decade pre-modernday but it's close enough ). Errant and I would be in heaven

And I'd be all up for the $8 version if he's got that cool cinematic quality to him. I love enemies that give an impression - like the "super-shroudling" in the video I e-mailed you. I've always wanted to have a character that throws you around and such though, and the camera flys about helplessly. Not really possible even with the plrfreeze command, although I have a command planned for AirMod that would make it possible, but it wouldn't work in stock

I sounded cheap I guess... but yeah, for all the work you'd have
to do on a FULL "Krauser" version. I'd pay around $8.00. It sounds
good to me actually. I loved RE 4 and Krauser was my favorite
antagonist. I solemly didn't want to see him die like a panzy.
though. Lol

The sounds would be very good too. The lip syncing sounds nice Bond!

what modeling program do you use to

Offset a little to the left. Or was it the right?

I'd be open to it... With a few texture variations, he could replace the Model Pack 2 guy in a game I'm doing right now...

EDIT: I agree with Airslide. Soldiers like that would make an awesome game.

8 dollars still sound cheap for a full working boss in FPSC.
And i think that most people would buy it cause there arent any boss type of characters in FPSC.

A question!
For you BIG boss...how much would that cost?
And are you planning on more boss characters than the 2 you mentioned?

@ Cheese Cake:
But what about the Ice Wizard? He was a boss character for only 5 bucks. However, if Bond were to throw in a few texture variations, I think it would be worth 8 dollars. Plus, a boss is a boss because he has tons of health, good AI, or some other thing that makes him tough. The Ice Wizard had the short range attack, and the freeze, so that the player never felt safe. But in all, a good boss is made with a good script.

Yeah okey but the Ice wizard was meant for fantasy type games.
Quote: "He was a boss character for only 5 bucks."

Still to cheap!
Its a great quality what bond1 is making and releasing.

The new animations texture work...AI and characters itself are great!
And for the new ideas like bond1 said himself would take much time...
So thats why i think 8 dollars is pretty cheap and he could easily ask more for them.
