i recoded the whole Flashlight Source to let it only light up parts of the level in front of you.
If i get time, i will write a function to let the color of the flashlight gets darker over some time.

Nooo don't do that, instead provide a way for that to be done through scripting, because if I were to purchase this mod, I'd want my flashlight on all the time.

Or you could give the flashlight 'ammo' and have it in the form of battery pickups.

Yeah, That would be better.

Also Would we be able to change the player model to be our own characters ? Like when you right click on the start marker ?

And is the rain part of the mod or just decals ?

I think the player model is a great idea, as it contributes to the level of immersion in a game.

Agreed. It will also give the player a better feel of who you are attualy playing as, e.g: am i a fire man, am i a ninja, or a soldier ?
So basically i agree.

Yeah, Keep the player Model DG. Very few games have Player Models these days, only AAA Titles do. it will give our games that extra 'Wow' factor!

Um, a question about the flashlight:

Can it be directional (as in what we would think of as a torch light - a circle of light in front of the player) or is it more of a lantern as shown in the video?

Btw i loved the effect on the tube as you walked past it with the flashlight on. I rewound that and watched it again.

And I agree with the above about a player model. Animated properly it could work quite well.

Don't remove the player model. It was the only new jaw-dropping feature I saw in the video. And it was a really painful jaw-drop as I just got a few teeth pulled

If you can spare the bandwidth, download the 26mb test video from my page file link above. Includes animated dynamic shadows.

Thanks Nighthawk and Dark Goblin.

Looks amazing so far. I'm positively hyped about this. I'll post my system specs at some point to see if it's compatible. In the meantime, could you post some pictures of a scene without shaders but with all the lighting and FoV, etc? I ask because my game doesn't use shaders at the moment and I wanna see how good it looks without them.

Oh, and will you be able to set permanent times of day/ 24 hour cycle speed. Also, nighttime looks a little noir, but maybe that's just me. With that in mind, will the overall atmospheric ambience and appearance of a day/night scene be adjustable? ie: I may want a stormy, desaturated midnight scene or a late night clear, picturesque sky. Will this be accomodated?

Seriously, HUGE multiplayer shooter just weeks away!

That's a bummer. There go thoughts of staging a level on an alien world with a blue sun

Speaking of alien worlds... what about altering the size of the sun/moon? Or adding more than one sun/moon?

yes i thought that this means Field of View but i have nothing in like that, so i thought he means something else.

@Ply:

well you will be able to tint the screen in something like a blue color but there is no way to add more than one sun!

I guess it would take a lot of power to illuminate the whole scene twice.
But if you just place two suns/moons and only one illuminates? Or perhaps just changing the moon texture to make it look like two.

no it doesnt need a lot of power because this is included in the Bloom Effect!
so its easy to tint it in the color you want!

Very sweet, I like the ideas that are going into this, a free version would be sweet...

Just to re-iterate here, could you post a few pics of the lighting and whatnot running in a shaderless envrironment?
