Here, I modeled this bad boy. I still need to UVmap and texture it.

{edit} Uvmapped it, what size texture do you want?

Uber Smoothed version:

Low Poly Version:

ooh, very nice!
I noticed that you are using the screenshot from the new map. Good idea!
If you wanted to be really detailed, you could get a different texture for each map, but that would require a bit more programming, I imagine...

It would require more texturing. Add a dull metal texture so it looks battle scarred. Maybe a few cuts here and there.

Eminent: its not textured, that's a wings 3d shader.
I am just waiting for him to to say what texture size he wants

I may be able to host a server soon. My dad got a new router. 450 mbps . Waiting for Amazon to ship it.

Great.

@General Jackson: Nice little horn there! I might do a shader like that 'cause it looks pretty cool. Good work. I'd say probably do a 1024x1024 size if possible, because I can always size it down if necessary, and I will have options for more powerful computers. If it's not easy at that size though, 512x512 is fine.

Cool. Glad to hear it.

Okie Dokie, I can do 1024x1024.

I will texture it in a couple hours, too busy right now :p

We should start a group for an IM service somewhere. Where we talk about scheduled play times and stuff.
EDIT: Finally finished making you a deagle. Again, lazy texture. I think it is MUCH better than my M16. You guys should REALLY get more guns when beta testing is finished. Less guns=less variety=more bland.

Well isn't it supposed to be like all types of different weapons in this game? I don't think it needs more guns, just a bigger variety of weapons.

Anyways can i see a wireframe and a perspective shot of that deagle?

Ehh, I'm still adding detail. Especially on the barrel. Normal map is coming up.
You don't expect me to make those little bands of metal using polygons, do you ?

You mean those on the back of the gun?

Hell no, but i would love to see some detail on other parts of the gun, just so it doesn't have that "cardboard cutouts" look to it you know

[edit]

Not that it is a cardboard cutout, but it is hard to see without a perspective view of the gun.

Yeah, sorry guys. Been doing stuff this holiday weekend, one major thing being homework. The pistol looks nice, though what he means by needing to see it from other perspectives is true. But really, as cool as it is, don't worry about making a lot of modern guns right now unless you enjoy it, 'cause I don't think I'll have time to add a whole modern warfare era to the first official release. In an expansion, most likely.

Things should pick up now that the schedule is going back to normal. When Christmas break gets here, I'm going to work on this project all day.

Haha, yeah. I know. I just got over the sickness (just getting over it actually). Problem is I'm not sure how much testing and coding I can get in since next week is basically my finals week. Can't wait 'till it's over for the year so I can code all day on this project.

Don't worry about. As soon as classes are over I'll be able to add it quick and easy.

Not sure what's going on. Server is up, and if it crashed I believe I would know. Hmm....

Btw, tomorrow is my last day! Then, either tomorrow night (if I'm not too tired), or Tuesday, I will resume work on Time Front. One of the first things I'm going to do is add the oasis map!

EDIT: btw, if you're not sure if you connected to the server when you refresh the list, check the top-left corner of the screen (except maybe on low resolutions). It will show your player name if it worked. Also, it will tell you "unable to connect" after 10 seconds if it really did fail. Speaking of which, I think one of you requested a name-change? Sorry, I got distracted.

Where can I download it? I'd like to try it.
And BTW I lost the horn with a bunch of other stuff because I did something stupid.
I WILL redo it and have it textured by Friday.

Found the correct positions and rotations on each limb (NOT EASY!) for Josh Mooney's awesome armor pieces. Won't be long 'till it's in the game!

This is straight from DB. Here it is with the commander helmet:

And here it is with a regular soldier's helmet:

Switched to HDR. Looks better and runs a little smoother, though I'm not sure if it's smooth enough. I get 45 FPS.

I have a Geforce 260, so it should be running good. Here's what it looks like on vegetation:
