Hey Dink.
I use a free program called Sculptris. It's an amazing program for making terrains (the guy who made it I think works for the creators of Z-Brush now). I simply load it and then use some brilliant code by Green Gandalf to apply a mask that allows me to have different detail maps on different parts of the map. Lightmapping is done in Blender and then is applied with blend mapping. Sparky's collision is used for poly-perfect and smooth collision.
There's no public release because I have a key system for each copy that has to be used, but if you want you're more than welcome to join the beta team. Just email me and I'll give you a product key and the link.

Thanks man! This was only made possible by your help. I actually already have a couple of shaders by Evolved, but you're definitely right that I should check out the other ones. It'd be cool to see how sweet we could get this to look.
EDIT: Just had to post this. I was adding the bridge and (even without lightmapping in the editor), it looks so good!
