site template looks good megaton.
does the webhost have mysql? because i have a news system on my site that had a password protected form for administrators to post news and a seperate news page for everyone to view which would allow anyone with the password to easily post updates on the news page.

18/04/2005 @ 18:45 CGI Disk Failure and Data Loss - UPDATE
Following the problems experienced last week affecting both the Frontpage and CGI Platforms, we would like to take this opportunity to summarize the major events surrounding the disk failure on the CGI-FP storage platform, and remind customers of our intentions for the replacement CGI platform.
It was announced earlier this month that we would be performing routine maintenance on the CGI platform:-
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1113421041.htm
This work was scheduled to ensure the stability and scalability of the CGI service and amongst other things, improve redundancy and resilience until the new replacement platform takes over later this year.
At 1.00am maintenance began as scheduled, when the CGI storage disks were remounted as read-only. Our network engineers then proceeded to backup the admin partition. This proved successful however it highlighted some issues with one of the disks in the array. This is not normally something that would cause concern due to the nature of the disk pack.
Our engineers continued to prepare for the backup of the stored data prior to performing the maintenance work. Whilst assessing the size of customer directories located on the storage array, there was a simultaneous disk failure which resulted in an issue with the disk pack itself. This, coupled with the initial failure, prevented the entire disk array from being rebooted.
We made every effort to resolve the problem by liaising with the associated hardware vendors as soon as the severity of the problem became evident. After much review and analysis, it was collectively decided by late afternoon on the 15th April, that the data was not recoverable.
We would like to remind customers that for security considerations the current CGI platform is completely segregated from the rest of our network. This means that any solutions for CGI involve dedicated hardware which can only be used for that purpose.
There are currently live CGI and Frontpage platforms that can be used should customers wish to restore any of their web content. These platforms are configured as such that customer's will have no problem running any of their existing scripts or applications.
We understand that the loss of data has caused an inconvenience to those that had sites hosted on the CGI platform but would like to assure customers that we will be putting measures in place to ensure that a similar situation does not arise with the the replacement solution.
Kind Regards,
Bob Pullen

15/04/2005 @ 17:51 Access to FrontPage and CGI websites - UPDATE
Further to our previous post we would like to give our customers an update regarding the CGI and FrontPage platform.
After further analysis to access the data on the failed disk array, our Engineers have confirmed the severity of the multiple disk failures have made it impossible for the data to be recovered.
Our Engineers have now re-enabled PHPMyAdmin. Customer data on the MySQL servers has not been affected and can be accessed via command line if necessary.
We would like to apologise sincerely for the inconvenience this has caused.
Kind Regards,
Ben Brown

15/04/2005 @ 10:53 Access to FrontPage and CGI websites - UPDATE
Our engineers are continuing to work on yesterday's disk failure on the CGI platform and arrive at a suitable resolution. We will post a further update on the progress later this afternoon.
Work to build interim FrontPage and CGI servers was completed yesterday, however, PHPMyAdmin will be inaccessable, we will provide further details regarding this as they are made available.
Those using the alternative CGI platform should also be aware that they will need to manually create a 'cgi-bin' folder to use certain scripts should one not be present in their root directory.
Kind Regards,
Dave Tomlinson

14/04/2005 @ 22:01 Access to Frontpage and CGI websites - UPDATE
Work to build an interim Frontpage platform for our customers has now been completed and customers should be able to upload content to their Frontpage space.
Our engineers are continuing work to investigate this mornings disk failure and arrive at a suitable resoltion. We will provide a service update tommorrow morning, if not before.
In the meantime PHPMyAdmin will be inaccessable, we will provide further details regarding this as they are made available.
Those using the alternative CGI platform should also be aware that they will need to manually create a 'cgi-bin' folder to use certain scripts should one not be present in their root directory.
We would like to apologise again for the inconvenience this issue has caused.

14/04/2005 @ 18:04 Access to Frontpage and CGI websites - UPDATE
As previously announced, our network engineers encountered unexpected failures across multiple disks during this morning's period of scheduled maintainance on the CGI and Frontpage platform.
As an interim measure we recently announced the availability of an alternative CGI platform which will enable customers with locally stored back ups, to recover their web sites.
We are building a similar facility to allow customers to utilise Frontpage's web building functionality.
Unfortunately, the build is taking longer than the estimate given in our last update.
Our engineers are currently working to bring the Frontpage platform into service and we will provide further details of the build as they are made available.
Kind Regards,
