yes, but for the bases, they should be big, and the villages, small buildings.

Humbug. -_-

I was doing the same thing, but on a skyscraper...

(Reminds me a bit of this one too...lol)

EDIT: Some of my progress

This is the basic plattform to build on. No lightmapping, no detail, no fancy stuf yet, just the basic shape. You'll be able to jump from paltform to platform, have mid-air duels, and ofcourse run around like a lunatic and plummet to your death from from 5 miles.

Yeah good idea. I'm including a small bridge where with some skill, you can get on top of and just pick people off without them seeing you.

HaHaHa, that's a good one.

Anyway, I just added a entire upper level so now your chance of death is increased by a good 75%.

Hoping to post some lightmapped pics tomorow.

Ok, even though we said we should have blueprints, I have a building, very basic with a hole in the roof for jumping in. Kinda high poly I think though.

If you wouldnt mind making a terrain, in some program you might own, or if you dont realy want to make a terrain then thats fine.

I pretty much have the buildings and static objects covered. Just not the terrain.

EDIT: Ill also need textures so anyone who knows how to texture feel free to hop in .

Nice map Megaton . Can't wait to see it with more detail.

Nicely done Mitchell . The snow/ice at the bottom is really good. The only comment I'd make is on the ridge along the middle. It looks a bit too clean, if you get what I mean. And maybe add in a few discrete scratches here and there, not so obvious that it tiles badly, but just so it doesn't look so un-naturally pristeen .

I'm amazed at the sudden explosion of kick-arse maps it seems we're going to be getting. It's inspired me to start thinking about updating the level editor again.

Great demo guys, It was really cool. It took me a while, but I found some bugs:

Zoom Bug:

Snipe all the way in with the p90SMG, and then switch to the Glock, the gun is still zoomed in more then its max zoom.

Double Jump:

Its hard to recreate this bug, but it happens every so often. You can double jump, press jump once and then press it again and you'll hit the celing from the bottom floor.

Stairs Bug:

Walk to the bottom of either staircase and look down wait there for a sec and then when you try to move up the stairs you can't even if you point your gun back up.

Those were hard to find, so don't worry. Great work guys.

I'll try a little terrain, and you might have to put pieces of it together, and scale it probably. And if you have a more detailed map, or a new map, be sure to send it to me.

I found this a while ago too. If you quickly switch back to the SMG, you can get the scope to appear across the screen, without the gun zooming it! Not really a feature or bug, but looks cool kinda like looking through a star trooper helmet.

Anyway, off to finish the level..(getting very big and hard to lightmap...it's about 3-4k polys at the moment)

do any of you have the action3d poly reducer? The 3d models that i create are very hi-poly. I am not very good at creating low poly things because my modeler is very simple, anim8or. I will try to post everyday objects as long as one of you have a poly-reducing program.

@Delta Commander, I dont have action3d, But one guy (A while back) sent me a gun and i remade it exactly, from 35k (His verson) to 500 (My verson) polys. If you would like me to do this you can keep the credit for it. I dont mind.

Level looks doable to me, all you'd need is two instances of the base object and one terrain. Of course there's the problem of modeling the bases, creating the terrain, getting it so it all fits together without any gaps, and of course the massive loading time, but yeah looks doable and would add a nice Tribes2-esque atmosphere

Hamish--found a really cool collection of free sfx at this site: http://www.meanrabbit.com/wavhtml/wavepage2.htm Some really nice stuff there, not at all like most sfx sites

I'll need a replacement sound card this weekend.

Ok, this is what I have so far. In a way, it's a spinoff of Megatons, but there will be certain twists in it. Next to the platform all the way to the right, is a hole, there will be more to do with that part. On the left where there is a lone platform, hopefully will be a gun. I know it's not textured yet, and eventually it will be a great map with all of the twists. C&C welcome. See attached :
