For David and Powersoft:

thinkdigital says: "Aren't download accelerators against the AUP. Of course, that would be their site only, right?"

David T says: "Whose AUP?"

thinkdigital says: "TGC's AUP."

Word.

TGC's AUP, lol... Shouldn't have said it like that.

I mean, aren't download accelrators against The Game Creators Acceptable Usage Policy? But that'd be only for their site, not Kentaree's, right?

Just to clear things up...

And no that wouldnt apply to Kentaree's site... Unless he had an AUP that stated he didnt want the use of them on his site...

But he doesnt have an AUP... So meh...

Theoretically yes. Had a go at a few compiles before I went away (the reason I've been anonymous for 3 weeks). Something's yet again gone weird. I must have commented out a line somewhere - it's activing everything that's controlled by a variable switch. Most odd.

This game looks better then Counter-Strike, looks like it plays better too. Did you write this in Pro or Classic? Pro I bet. I can't wait to
play I'd buy this game in fact!

DavidT, this is looking really good, I've always liked your Mercaneries projects

I haven't downloaded the demo yet, but I will do when I have some spare time to play and enjoy it properly

I noticed a few pages back people were asking about shadows. If you haven't already added them there was a great example a while ago using a 5x5 grid that mapped to matrices (by Ian M I think, it also demoed a lensflare method in the same code)

I expect a very similar method would work for advanced terrain, I have been meaning to add these kind of fast fake shadows to Quikly Game Pro, and would suggest that these would also be ideal for Mercaneries 2 ? If you are interested or can't find the example I'll have a search around for you

It was Van B's code not Ian M's
I managde to adapt it to advanced terrain rather then Matrices. Its not too hard

Cheers, thanks alot I'll look into your shadow idea when I have time

At the moment I'm still wrestling with this weird bug. It seems loads of variables are just flipping to values that they should't be - playing havoc with it

To add to things I'm busy with other pojects at the moment - so Merc 2 is on a temporary hiatus. As soon as I get it working normally again I'll put up the latest version as a FINAL, FINISHED DOWNLOAD.

Yes you read correctly. I might finish something!

" Can that be done in dark basic clasic "
No. Sorry

[Edit] well, I should have said not natively. If you have the expansion you may be able to build a dll to do it, but that would be VERY heavy going, and I'm not sure its properly possible with DX7 which DBC uses.

Even though it's a software trick and not a hardware one, I don't think it can be done.

nice game . Very nice game . Mind if i advertise it in a magazine thing im making to post up here? If i can, heres a logo animeblood made for it, and i was wondering if i could put it with the game:

also, if you let me advertise it, what do you want on it? like a catchy phrase or a short summary of the story or idea of the game or whatever.

Video games…they take you places unreachable, unfeasible. Putting you in the book...putting you in the movie...putting you in a world, that before could only be imagined. expage.com/piratesmainpage.

DavidT, you sure you didint use some weapons from turbosquid?

Attached is the the Colt from the old version. There's a lot of guns that seems to be from Turbosquid. Anyway, do you will keep these horrible guns? (the uzi, pistol, sniper, shotgun and the P90 are great, you can keep them)

and this is the weapons from Turbosquid:
