Save/Load:
Ok, here is the issue with Save/Load. Each entity needs to save it's position where it is at the time you saved it as well as the time you need to load it. The Physics are tied to both trigger zones and the beginning of play. In other words, if you have a box falling from the ceiling and in mid air you save, when you start the game, the box needs to be at the floor.
Now, each wall is an segment AND sometimes it can be an entity. This array is, well, I think Lee was VERY DRUNK when he wrote the routine for the arrays of Entities, but I cannot bitch because, well, it works.
The ONLY thing that I am having trouble with is this. Lets say you build a tunnel segment, and you have a gate that you open and you crawl in side and save. For whatever God I offended, when you "load" the game, the gate will be closed and, unless you design your level correctly, you are trapped there. Same goes with broken glass, doors that you used to open with keys....
It's the entities built INTO the segments that I need to "fine tune". Yes there are work arounds when you build the level, but as you can see by the number of people still asking for what Riker 9 is, I would have to be explaining this till not only the cows come home BUT after they give up their milk.
It is my gut feeling that I know what the problem is, but with College and Work now, I just haven't had the time I once had since I got out of the hostage situation I was in for 19 months.
Fear not, for I still enjoy playing around with FPSC and development is continuing (thus slowly) on Riker 9.
