Code you know how people are man. I think theres to many links myself(and some aren't working any ways). I think a help page all in one area giving a walk through of every function and stage of using your program will help quell some of the questions you'll get. Also not sure about the black on green background.

Personally I thing letting the program update it self is better. Just give the people an option to turn it off so their not getting nagged by the software to update......once they've been told it's their problem to get the updates...this saves you from having to continuously tie your sales to a email data base every time someone orders a copy.....I've got a couple friends that wrote bots for battle.net servers and their bots display a news section at start up and inform of any new updates. The text scrolls by fast and is un intrusive and also informative. Not saying you need it scroll current news but it seems an easy way for mass distributed items to get the word to the people with little work on the owners part.

The built in help system has a menu that you can pick each topic from. (See attached image) As for the background... What would look good?

I would make it automatic, but I can't figure out how to dowload files over the net through VB...

Well the colors are up to you but I'd think much more subdued. The greens to florescent looking. Take a cue from these forums even....black on light grey....black on light blue.....black on white. Keep it simple and professional looking.

I don't know how to do it internally for full automation but...
Just put a browser in the program pointing to an updates page and let them select updates manually.

Click on Project > Add Form > Browser

Then on your main form, or where ever you want, add a button and use the following for the code.

I used "http://www.thegamecreators.com" in this example, so replace that with the path of your Download Page.

Yah, I think that'd work well.

UPDATE:

All but two of the help pages are finished, view them here

I'm also going to add sound play buttons to the files page.

Thanks Omen101. Well, I just finished writing the ES help file, so the only one left is the HudPos help page. Then of course, I need to get a Paypal account which somehow still hasn't happened. But I'm quite sure it will be soon.

Code Master, if you decide to use Paypal, empty it every week or so. I know several people (including myself) that have had large amounts of money stolen from Paypal. Paypal isn't all that secure.

I always empty my paypal account frequently. I've had a lot of spam trying to get at my Paypal info; I send it all to Paypal to have a look at, and prosecute.

Wow! The video really shows off the Weapon Creator' capabilities... It's going to be a gr8 success. Now if only I could create a weapon using a 3D prog, animate it, etc. Well, the Weapon Creator gives me a yet another reason to take the plunge!

Congratulations!
It's good to see that this is very close to release (just a minor technicality holding you back).
I know a lot of people have been waiting for this for a long time.

As far as most people are concerned, Weapon Creator is dead.

But Not To me. For months, In my own little corner of the universe, I have been working to get Weapon Creator done. And I've achieved that. But now, I'ts still taking time to get a bank acount set up. I fear that when Weapon Creator Is released, the response of the community will be very subdued, due to the ever lengthy arrival time. If this happens, I will be thorougly disapointed, So, I ask you now, What Killer Features would make Weapon Creator a Serious competitor. Give me your crazyist ideas, don't worry about how impossible they may sound. I'm looking for a flood of ideas, some boring, some ridiculous, some perfect.

Thanks, And Peace Out.

Code I just checked your site man. I see you were having bot problems. As nice as it is for members to not have to use a validation code or reply to an email if yur on a bots list that kinda spam wont stop. I've banned the ip's I seen but of course this is almost futile as I alone have a list of over 5000 active socks5 proxies....I mean banning an IP dose little if nothing to someone if they wanna be a pain in the butt, so you'll need to tighten up your joining requirements.

If your having problems like this keep in contact. I very rarely ever visit anyones site I host. Remember...my only rules were like "No Kiddie Porn"....I have no reason to visit if ya don't make it known.

Lack of time. My father's a busy man... But, I just singed the papers, and I'm going to remind him to turn them in, so it should happen quite, quite soon.

@Loc:

I've looked through the fourm&portal options, but can't find anything to make it less easy to post crap.
