Anyway another one for me.

Man, there should have been a restriction to the number of times you can enter. There's alot of "filler" junk and some quality stuff. 3 enteries should be MORE than sufficient for any user. The whole quantity vs quality issue. I mean, do you seriously want to sift through alot of crap to dig up the gems?

Tapewormz, the 'quantity' and 'variety' are what makes this contest fun. Besides, We're having fun aren't we? Speaking of fun.. here's another one from yours truely..

I'd have to agree with Tapewormz. What's also funny is how some people are submitting a dozen banners, all with the same or slightly modified typeface. If we're having "fun" here, can we atleast mix and match the fonts so we don't get 10 banners from each user that look exactly the same?

I'd like to think mine are different... But you're right that people shouldn't just submit a ton for the heck of it, and should put more effort into the ones they post. Not to say everyone's doing that, many here are making very unique banners...

My 3rd

Simple, but I like it...

Ok, aparently, 'Quantity' is starting to grate on peoples nerves, so I'll not post any more banners. (Althought I think I have made a point to make my banners as distinct and separate as possible, changing fonts and styles for each one.)

In an effort to help keep the number more managable, here are my top 3 choices for my entries..

#1

#2

#3

If the powers that be want to enter all my banners that's fine too.

I now enter lurk mode, keep having fun people, this contest is great.

Yes but... 26 Kb is close to 24kb. But I can shrink the size a bit. So I'll probably go ahead and to that now.

Pfft, 25.9 Kb. =/

And another one

I hope this is closer to "quaility" that people keep going on about.

Sorry about the font, but JPG is making a pigs ear of it even set to the lowest possbile compression level. I really do wish they'd let us use PNG, it's simular in size and supiour in quaility.

Imho, and sorry if this sounds rude, Kenjar those just lack an aesthetic quality to them. They don't really capture anything TGC related either for that matter.

EDIT:
Rich, btw way. Is my banner at a size of 25.9 Kb too high over the limit, or is that acceptable? Because if I go anylower the quality becomes way too low.

I'm just sick to death of wireframe graphics and 3D Block Retro Text. As or aesthetic, I try for artistic, which is subjective in nature. Art doesn't need to make sense, it just needs to be.

This is not an entry, but rather a sample to show you that by browsing the gamecreators site you can find artwork and make your own banners.. no artistic talent is needed this is entirely edited from an existing source. Anyone care to name the source?

no, really, this is not a banner entry, trust me. I make my own source graphics. But it might inspire some people to hunt this great site and do some creative editing.

Cheers!

P.S. as proof that this is not a banner entry, I used my photobucket.com account to host this image. It is not 'uploaded' here and that is a requirement of the contst entry.

P.P.S. Yes I know I'm sick, but hey at least I'm not a spammer,.. oh wait,.. with all the artwork I uploaded to this forum I might just be a sapmer lol

It's much cooler if you whip up something of your own though... I see so many people who do that, and it starts to look generic after a while.

P.S. David - what do you use to do those images? Photoshop or PSP or what? They look great.

To me it does, I did say it's subjective in nature. The text I used was hand made for all but my last entry. Fonts get so boring. That last one with Apollo I did has no character, shows nothing of my personaility. I'm redoing another version which people will hate, but it's fun making them!

Geez, you have me there. I give up completely! *flippancy*

Quote: "It's much cooler if you whip up something of your own though... "

Agreed. I regrate using clipart in my last but one entry. But I was saying to a friend the other day, people are usually too close minded for anything different, they mostly like normal, predictable things because it doesn't take effort to think about it, and produces only a very small emotional response, if any.
