Man, that first pic hurts my eyes. What exactly is it trying to focus on anyway?

Great job getting all these nice things to work, though!

I have a question, so we don't confuse people:
What are the system specs you run this Mod under?

well really good pc ^^
need to add some tweaks ^^

HD4870, 2GB DDR2 800 RAM, Intel C2D@3GHZ

but on some other pc`s i have tested with some middle to low end specs it also runs at 40-FPS

Pic1: well it should focus on that platform, but haven`t exactly pointed at it ^^

So what are you planning to do with this, release it, or what?

EDIT: Can you shrink the pictures so we can see it better, so we dont have to scroll?

I never did understand the big fascination with Bloom... looking at it always reminded me of how things looked after opening my eyes in chlorinated pool water. (The effect of doing that would linger for the rest of the day, making everything look..... Bloomy )

Where's the light source? I can't judge the shadows very well without knowing exactly where the light's coming from.

From what I can see... it looks like the light has a bit of "leakage" through your pillar onto the ceiling.

And.... I don't know which shadows are dynamic and which are lightmapped.

[EDIT]

Okay, I'm confused now... is this for efxMod?? Or are you starting a new Mod?? What's going on with this? This looks like a development thread for a new Mod, if I'm not mistaken.

well as i said in my first post, there are some bugs concerning the dynamic shadows, they are not placed 100% like they should (that thing with the ceiling!).

and there are no lightmapped shadows. all shadows shown on the screens are 100% dynamic and none of DarkLights or any other Stock FPSC Light!

Hmm, so it recalculates the lighting every frame?

Have you tried adding more than 7 lights? If I remember rightly that was the dynamic light limit...

you can add mor than 7 lights, but you will have a very low framerate. i need to write a system with searches for the nearest lights and will "activate" them, to get rid of low FPS.

and yes, actually it renders the shadows every frame. i have a system working which only renders them if something moves, but for now it doesn`t render if i walk through a door. but i think i will find a fix for that and that will definetly get more FPS.

With activated "searching" i get around 90FPS, but if you pick up an object it drops to 40-50.

Yeah I agree with Plystire - what is the fascination with bloom? I can see using it maybe ONCE during the course of a game, like when emerging from a tunnel into daylight. But I don't understand using it on everything, some people must like their games to look like a blurry mess (like nine out of ten X10 games).

Good luck with the shadows though - I would LOVE that.

well at the moment it has nothing to do with efx.

it will get a part of it some day, but actually its something like a new mod!

Nothing is wrong. I am asking if this will be an actual MOD, like efx, or some kind of scripts and shaders or something for the official. But I'm guessing it will be a seperate mod.

New mod to FPSC! Finally. Is this going to be free?? Please???
It looks so great.

Are you going to add 'air' to your mod? So, if you go under water you lose air and when air is end you get killed.

for now i have no idea how to correct this problem to get the world lightmapped right!
i hope i will find a fix for this or the whole mod has no future.

DoF will be incredibly hard to get working correctly, as you have to work out exactly what the player camera is focusing on. I would actually not bother including it all, as it is just annoying.

Much better however is motion blur, which can probably be calculated more easily.q

the efxFree Edition will always be for noncommercial.

if you want to use it for commercial projects, you need to buy the full version (which will be available than ^^)

Really nice Work so far, Dark Goblin!

It's a pretty neat Addition to the Fps Creator, because the old Dynamic Shadows are... Erm, we all know which Word should follow.

Hope to see more from you and your Modification.

Just watched the videos

Really nice. This is great work as you've even managed to make them soft shadows.

Hope this makes it into the next EFX mod release.

Fantastic work! I'd definately but EFX once the commercial version comes out. Can't wait to see more! Does the lighting take any longer to render than standard FPSC lighting?

Wow, Looks awesome. The lighting looks alot better, although I think there just static not dynamic though. Dynamic would mean moving objects or scenery. Any tests on characters?
